Douglas regretted what he said almost instantly after she replied. He ran a hand through his hair, “I-I’m sorry, that was too far, I know.” And he had just apologized for his behavior a second ago. That had to be some kind of record.

"No, it's fine. I know I have no right to call Fairy Tail my guild again." She ran her fingers over some of the spines of the books, "Besides, Clarice and I have already been talking about it and... Well, I'm going to be Guild Master of Diamond Soul... Probably sooner than later too..."

It wasn’t often that Douglas defended natsu, but if there was one thing he knew natsu had, it was loyalty. A trait that he still wondered still lingered in his comrades

"Right..." She muttered, turning from him and going to look for another book. She still felt like she'd abandoned Fairy Tail by not going back all those years ago. Abby had just let them think the whole team was dead. She knew she had no right to call them their guild again, and she knew Sora felt the same way because they'd just disappeared.

"well, keep looking then," Douglas suggested. "Uncertainty is only cured by the truth." He wished he had better advice, but information gathering has always been a weak point of his. One of the reasons he brought her along on this trip. "Also, I want to apologize for Lockjaw. The man has his many uses, and I’m certain there’s a good person in there somewhere. There’s just a lot of crap to get through to see it."

"Uncertainty is the fun part though!" She giggled, giving a weak smile. Something was wrong, but even the light mage couldn't know what at this point. "Don't worry too much about it. I've dealt with worse people before. And by worse I mean Natsu. Can't get much worse than him, honestly."
