[Chapter Three;Jet Lagged]
"Through the atmosphere I'm seeing
glimpses of the past I'm leaving
holding on for life as we collide"
Stiles was still in awe over the fact that he had literally collided with the person whose name was on repeat in his mind. It was like his body and brain were on autopilot and knew exactly where Barry was located.
The Scarlet fabric of his shirt stuck to him stiffly, causing him to tug on it slightly before scratching the back of his neck. He searched for words, but found none causing him to stand there awkwardly after their collision.
"So," Barry cleared his throat, eyeing Stiles carefully, "what can I help you with?"
"Huh-what?" Stiles asked, obviously confused and lost in his thoughts.
"Well you were looking for me, and I was wondering what it was you needed from me..." Barry reminded him, letting the last thought float in the air for stiles to grasp onto.
"Oh, right. Well, I'm not absolutely sure..." Stiles replied honestly. Awkwardly, he shifted all of his weight to his right foot and fidgeted with his hands. Stiles had felt odd ever since he arrived in Central City. He had been feeling extremely tired and even a little weak, he just didn't know how or why; the only thing he knew is that time had flown by since appeared last night.
The intriguing brunette standing before Stiles, looked at him oddly seeming to notice Stiles' odd symptoms, "are you okay?"
"I don't think anything about this whole situation is okay, and I have a feeling you know that too," Stiles blurted, looking straight into the crisp green eyes of Barry Allen.
"And what makes you think you know what I know?" Barry asked, narrowing his eyes slightly at the freaked out boy in front of him.
Stiles recalled previous events, with the man in the red suit. He recalled how the man stood and moved ever so slightly. But then was gone in a flash. He remembered the shape of the figure in red, and how Barry looks almost identical to what he had gotten a glimpse of.
Stiles may be new to this town, or wherever he is, but he has always been able to identify things and figure things out. No matter the difficulty.
"Because we've seen each other before," Stiles started to explain, trying to remind him of the events that had happened the night before. Though, he knew Barry surely remembered, "last night, to be exact. I'm assuming that was you in that red-full-body suit.
"I don't know exactly why you were wearing that kind of outfit, but what matters is that you were there and you saw me appear in this town. And you know exactly how not okay the entrance I made was."
Stiles paused his thoughts, looking at the other brunette for something; anything. Barry stiffened as he spoke, that showed that what Stiles had said was correct. That was Barry in the suit, and Barry knew how abnormal his appearance was.
Stiles stretched his neck and cracked his back before speaking again, "it sure didn't feel okay."
"Okay, so your entrance was weird?" Barry started off, "weird things happen all the time in Central City, what makes your incident so special?"
Stiles opened his mouth to speak, but realized he didn't know how to word what he wanted to say so he quickly closed his mouth.
"And right now is not a good time for me to be talking about this, like I mentioned before; lots of weird things happen in this city and that means I have a lot of things to attend," Barry said gesturing towards the exit. Stiles noticed how antsy he had been, and let him pass. But he didn't forget to let out that sigh of defeat while he was at it.
Stiles watched Barry walk away, but noticed him turn around, "look, I'm sorry," he sighed, "there is just a lot going on today and I'm stressed beyond belief. I mean, I didn't even catch your name."
"It's Stiles" he answered with a nervous chuckled, "uh, Stiles Stilinski."
"Well, Stiles, tomorrow might be a better day to talk about this situation. How about we meet at the local coffee shop in the morning to better understand what happened? It's called jitters." Barry offered.
A warm feeling began to brew inside Stiles once the offer was put on the table, and he couldn't turn it down. Though it was only something they scheduled to talk about the impossible, he couldn't help but think that something good might actually come out of an unfortunate event.
"Okay, so, Stiles is gone?" Scott asked.
"That is the tenth time you have asked, Scott. Nothing has changed. Yes, Stiles is gone." Lydia answered, her elbows resting on the table the broken pack was sitting at with her fingers massaging her temples.
The banshee was growing annoyed of the questions the true alpha had put on repeat. She just wished that he could grasp his best friend's disappearance like the rest of them so they could develop a plan, but he is still in the denial stage. He has been for the past day.
"Does Derek know?" Scott asked yet another question that had already been answered, and Lydia was just about ready to explode.
"Yes," Lydia said pressing her fingers harder onto her temples and clenching her jaw together, "Derek knows, he is on his way to help us."
"Does anyone have any popcorn?" Liam asked from the left of Scott, earning the death glare from Lydia.
"Lydia, do you think maybe if we grab something of Stiles' then we could track him by his scent?" Malia offered.
"Malia, since when are you the smartest one in the pack?" Lydia asked, with a relieved smile, thankful for her presence.
"I have some good influences I guess," Malia shrugged.
Scott was still staring off into space, oblivious to the whole plan. Kira looked at him sympathetically and put a hand on his shoulder reassuringly.
"Scott, we will find him. We always do." she reassured. Scott looked up at her with his big puppy dog eyes. Her eyes softened even more when she saw the tears forming.
Their alpha was in a very vulnerable state, hell, they all were. Without Stiles, there are no more jokes; no more sarcastic remarks; there are no more spastic movements, or star wars references. Until they find him, if they ever do, they will have to learn to live without him; if that is even possible.
Okay so I usually have the story format where it is like stiles and Barry, then life back in beacon hills, stiles and Barry again. But that was just too much for this chapter so I ended it in beacon hills.
