Since we're on the topic of the inherent racism baked into the writing of characters like Bull and Taash, now feels like a good time to bring up how the animalistic fetishization also shows up in the design for the Antaam.
Like, it's not a coincidence that these are the first Antaam we see in the game:
It's also not a coincidence how the voices of the Antaam characters are all pitched down to a fantastical degree to denote their exotic, animalistic masculinity.
And it's also not a coincidence how when they show the Antaam leadership, the one they describe as having an "uncharacteristic sophistication and cultured tone," they get a white man to voice him.
But when it's a qunari commander that lacks the "uncharacteristic sophistication and cultured tone," they get a black man to voice him.
And it's also not a coincidence that the reaver enemies that you have to fight jump around the map like gorillas.
Racism, islamophobia, and antiblackness is baked into every design decision the developers made with the Qunari and has been from the jump. Veilguard is no exception.
