But Dwight was about to shoot the judge before chief Taylor tried to shoot him down, only a man got on his way and the shot was diverted. So Dwight turned around and shot the chief instead.
So what the Judge Richwood theorists are saying is that he was about to shoot the judge for the same reason they killed the bailiff - to shut him up about the conspiracy. But there are too many things that still don’t add up for me in this theory, to begin with. For one, white supremacists tend to be very outspoken about their racist beliefs. The judge does not seem to be this way, but quite the opposite. Secondly, white supremacists (and similar groups) do not recognize the sovereignty of the state and its institutions, including courts, so for a judge to also be an active member of a group that doesn’t acknowledge his court doesn’t make much sense. Also, he helped Sharon adopt a gay boy, which is probably not something he would have done if he were a Neo-Nazi. And if this theory will end up being true, it will be devastating to Sharon. Richwood is clearly her close friend, and that would create so many issues for her, including problems in the run for the Assistant Chief of Special Operations position.
I think these Judge Richwood theories are ridiculous. But I think Dwight's mother is more or less involved, she might be a big point of this case.

TVLINE | As far as “shaking things up,” are we to assume that Fritz will hold Taylor’s job temporarily? Will there be a decision Sharon eventually needs to make? Sharon is going to be in the race for Assistant Chief [of Special Operations], and she will be in that race with Camryn Manheim (see related news story) and an as-of-yet unannounced third actor. And that will be the thrust of the back eight [episodes], which is: “Who will get that job?” — and the changes that come with it.
Okay so I really hope that james Duff won’t do anything and Sharon will be “main” character of this show, because I’m a bit afraid

Sharon won't get that position, because they won't let the lead actress wearing only uniform in Major Crimes' future. But I think she will get a promotion, probably to a commander.
Episode 5x11 - “White Lies - Part 1” (Contains spoilers)
It’s hard for me to write this post, because I still can’t believe what had happened. I think we all knew and expected Taylor would get shot. I expected him to be temporarily or permanently incapable of filling the Assistant Chief of Special Operations position. I definitely did not anticipate him dying. I was sure he would live. So I am utterly shocked, and I feel like the show has lost a valuable actor with no option to ever bring him back for a cameo in the future (except maybe in a flashback).
The star of the night is absolutely, without a doubt Mary McDonnell. We all knew she’s talented, and many of us lamented the fact that her talent was being underused this season. That has definitely changed last night. The badass display of her taking Dwight Darnell down could put to shame any Quentin Tarantino movie. And then, just when I thought I saw everything this woman could do, it became clear that the talent that’s oozing from her is endless.

After I watched the preview, I thought the person get shot would be ether the DDA or Dwight Darnell. I definitely never expected there would be a massive shooting with so many victims......When I saw Dr. Joe getting shot in the head, I’m thinking “OMG! No, not him, don’t kill Dr. Joe.” But I never expected that Taylor's death in this shooting. Holy Crap, this episode is killing me. And BTW, The prime target of this massive shooting is Dr. Joe, but he is the only one who survived...

They let Mary tap into her reservoir of acting ability. Finally.
We can see Sharon's emotion expression even from the back, Mary is amazing!!!
