“That’s so sweet of her! I’m sure it’s lovely, what is it a painting of?”

“We’re doing Seussical this year! It’s about Horton trying to save the Whos, and the other animals are getting in the way and– it’s just really cute. But since it’s Dr. Seuss with all of the bright colors ‘nd stuff, I need to designed makeup palettes with bright blushes and eyeshadows and just overall bright things.. There’s probably even going to be bright hairspray, just for fun.”

“That sounds wonderful! Will you be doing the hair as well? Dr. Seuss hair is always so creative and interesting. I always wonder how they do some of the styles they had in The Grinch, it’s so funny!”

“I…I really hope so. I think - I think he figured it out before me, but there was a period in the fourth grade when I forgot that my full name wasn’t Ravi, so that’s probably not hard to beat,” Ravi laughed at herself, “But…yeah. I dunno. It just seems…natural? I guess? Like we were meant to do this. Or something. I dunno, I’m probably not making much sense. It’s just really exciting.”

“Natural? Then that is the best sign!” she laughed. “Love isn’t meant to be work, at least not the kind that isn’t worth the end result. If love is easy, then I turly believe it was meant to be. And of course I believe in the fated love, I’m sure my mother would agree.”

“Fine, I’ll give you that. I’m kind of…oblivious when it comes to emotions. Yeah, Harlem. Harlem Roscoe.” And if she smiled a little bit and her cheeks reddened even more when she said his name, her next answer explained that, “Yeah. First…everything. Like I said. Oblivious.”

“Well I am very happy for you, a first love is the most special of all,” she smiled warmly. “I’ve always felt the most romantic situations are when both in the relationship are oblivious, learning about love together is an adventure.”

“Well I think you should use a makeup wipe first, then use these. It cleans deeper, I’m sure it will prevent breakouts better. You must be very excited about the musical, which one are you doing?”

“Intelligent? I suppose so. It’s not so bad, I nearly have the whole package.” She smiled, lifting her hands to her pigtails and fluffing them, “Beauty and brains. I suppose brawn will come soon. –Oh! Course I will! I’ll teach you lots of things if you teach me how to paint. –That’s so romantic!”

“You certainly do, and those are lovely things to have,” she smiled and blushed a bit. “I would love that! I’ve never taught anyone before, but I’m sure you will be a natural at it.”
