Ive been told I’m a little dramatic 🤡
BPD isn't always____, Sometimes its_____
Bpd isnt always screaming and throwing things in anger waiting for the rush of the releasing of breaking something, Sometimes its internalizing that rage into self sabotage and harming yourself for pleasure not just cause you want to die already.
Sometimes, its misdiagnosed as just depression and anxiety. The shitty thing is, medication wont "fix you" or "help" if you have it. Anti-depressants wont feel like they're making a difference like they should be doing.
BPD Isn't always feelings everything so strongly, sometimes its feeling absolutely nothing at all and that emptiness becomes addicting over time.
Clinging to anything that comes back to you. Cause you can even become attached to feeling certain ways and if you're not feeling that way... Your entire world feels like it's ending.
Bpd comes with horrible coping skills.
What's even more fucked.. We know whats wrong.. We know how to "fix it" buts its not an easy fix. Change is hard. REALLY hard with this condition. Being someone whose conscious of you BPD sucks, cause you're aware of how your friends and family probably see you, which probably causes you more anxiety.
So, then that leads us to our best friend.. Good old Disassociation.
Because why be hurt or hurt other people when you can just disconnect with your self and everyone around you and think about the burning pit that rages inside you and the horrible things your brain makes you think about yourself. BUT, DON'T WORRY! Somedays you'll be numb. Those days aren't so bad.
I also almost forgot OUR GOOD PAL MANIA.. We love our MANIC EPISODES always RIGHT BEFORE WE SHUT DOWN INTO DISASSOCIATION MODE.
BPD Isn't someone whose is toxic, a lot of times its just someone who was incredibly traumatized.
Hey, when the mania and disassociation wear off though, you'll get a cute God Complex for a few hours or maybe a whole day.
I hate that I feel like a burden to everyone. Bpd constantly has me questioning everything. Wondering if people just "tolerate" my existence, rather than enjoy me being around.
The paranoia is so loud sometimes, but I keep quiet about it. But tonight it's overwhelming.
I wonder how many people have to silently suffer with borderline traits because they don’t believe they’re borderline because they think borderline has to be abusive and devilish with lots of promiscuity.
You can be borderline and kind.
You can be borderline and empathetic.
You can be borderline and not intentionally and maliciously harm anyone.
You can be borderline without people noticing it but you suffering the most.
You don’t have to be abusive or devilish to be borderline. Borderline struggles are really common especially:
abandonment fears
feelings of emptiness
being a social chameleon
& identity confusion
These traits can coexist with ptsd, cptsd, etc.
Abandonment fears can stem from trauma.
Emptiness can stem from faulty attachments in childhood.
Being a social chameleon can stem from feeling faulty and deserving of the abandonment experienced in childhood so the person has to work hard to avoid it.
Identity confusion can be caused by inconsistent unpredictable reactions to you as a child when your identity was still malleable and in the formation.
If you suspect borderline traits, get help. Your ptsd, cptsd, etc will get much better if you address your borderline traits, that act much like a shield to the wound. Put off the fire so you can get inside the building and resolve the trauma.
Borderline Personality Disorder isn’t being cute and ‘clingy’ and ‘adorably needy’. Being with (romantic or otherwise) someone with BPD isn’t akin to taking care of a pet. BPD isn’t an ‘aw it’s so endearing that they need me so badly’ type of thing.
BPD is a mental illness that is a conglomeration of several different tendencies and it’s not easy to diagnose. You don’t just decide you have it, just like you don’t decide you’re depressed because you had a bad day, or you don’t decide you’re bipolar because your mood changes quickly sometimes. Believe me, you don’t want it.
BPD is turning nothing into everything, is knowing you’re being irrational and not being able to stop regardless, is suppressing breakdowns for fear of being abusive or of manipulating the person you’re talking to into having to take care of you when they really don’t want to.
It’s thinking someone doesn’t care about you anymore because they made a new friend. It’s automatically registering new people as a threat. It’s a fear of abandonment and rejection that’s damn near omnipresent. It’s being able to shift from ‘I love you so much!’ to ‘I don’t give a fuck, I hate you, I don’t even want to talk to you’ and back at the drop of a hat.
It’s finding identity in a drastic hair change, and then feeling unsafe and desperately trying to fix it before you have to go out. It’s seeing someone you adore and trying to emulate them because you have no idea who you are. It’s waking up and trying to be a new person every day. Go vegan, go goth, go hipster, go glamour, cut your hair, change your makeup, gain weight, lose weight, and never feel quite there. Ever.
It’s comprehending ‘love’ as ‘pity’ and wanting to rip yourself apart if their tone is all too casual when your friend or love interest is returning compliments or affection. It’s regretting saying anything about your mood and desperately trying to turn the conversation around while simultaneously NEEDING to get it out. It’s wanting to bleed yourself dry as opposed to cry in someone’s arms because, at least then, they don’t have to clean your wounds for you. They won’t hate you. They won’t be annoyed.
It’s the constant battle, every time you get upset, of, “Is this worth being sad about? Is it worth talking about? What is more abusive, talking about this or hiding it? If I tell them I’ll bring them down and I’ll guilt trip them and they will resent me and it will all be my fault. If I don’t, I’m a disgusting liar, I’m manipulative, I’m untrustworthy.”
It’s wondering if you’re faking your symptoms. It’s disassociating and feeling like a ghost for days. It’s feeling like you aren’t real, and then wishing you weren’t. It’s fear, a lack of self, and about a million different thoughts running through your head at all times. It’s trying to live for the people you love as opposed to yourself. It’s feeling suicidal and then feeling bad for feeling suicidal because, whoops, you’re being manipulative.
please dont get sick of me
fuck disappearing under mysterious circumstances i want to start APPEARING under mysterious circumstances. walking through a deserted eerie forest? im there. exploring an abandoned 1930s mine that no human has set foot in for 55 years? there too. touching down on mars? guess whose annoying face you see poking out from behind a rover
That’s very sweet, but try, okay? Okay.
