｢𓆄｣ "Whoa, hey there, birdie." While she was clearly excitable, Hawks kept a levelhead as she gushed over his wings. Normally people wigged out over their color or just how they seemed to dwarf the man's silhouette when he was at his full plumage. The wingspan though, that was a first, he'd have to say.
So instead of just telling her, he'll instead demonstrate!
As he unfurled one wing to full extension, "Well, if I had to say. One wing is about five feet across." Then the other, "Which would mean this one is also five feet across..."
"I'm no good at math," a lie. "But I think that'd make a wingspan of ten-feet. Impressive, right?"
𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐆𝐈𝐑𝐋 𝐖𝐀𝐒 𝐄𝐒𝐒𝐄𝐍𝐓𝐈𝐀𝐋𝐋𝐘 bouncing in her boots at the excitement of, not only meeting a new face but, also learning more about them. as his wings slowly unfurled, showing the wing span, star's eyes essentially sparkled.
" hold up, TEN feet? yowza, that's HUGE! i bet you make all the birds super jealous, huh? "
she quickly jogged behind him, peeking her head underneath a primary flight feather, and comparing its size to her own height. she was like, what, 5'4" or something... she had compared heights with janna at least once before. hmm, now she was curious on the measurement of her own butterfly form's wings... she was still growing, though!

If this were the Zhuming ship, Yunli would easily have found a place to eat something tasty, but the more she wandered in this new world, the hungrier she got. It had gotten to a point where her stomach was complaining to her, fairly loudly to her distraught. Maybe she could find someone to help her out? She could case her eyes about on passerby, looking for someone that seemed safe enough to approach. Judging that was…quite hard, considering they all looked like they came from places other than her home. Her brow would furrow, perplexion written upon her features. A few moments later, someone had caught her eye, and she would approach, her eyes practically gleaming with enthusiasm. “Hello! Hi, you might not know this, but this, this is my first day here! Do you know where there's anything to eat? I don't think I'll last that much longer…”
She would clutch at her stomach. Oh, the drama.
𝐒𝐓𝐀𝐑 𝐇𝐀𝐃 𝐁𝐄𝐄𝐍 𝐖𝐀𝐍𝐃𝐄𝐑𝐈𝐍𝐆 around the area she had arrived near the beginning of the eclipse, wondering if one of those had caused her to appear in this strange city. much to her surprise, a stranger came straight to the blonde, causing star to actually consider that theory. okay, so every time there is an eclipse, people either appear... or disappear... from spirale. good to know, good to know.

at that, she took off in the direction of the first ward, turning her head back for a moment to ensure the girl was following her.
" by the way, welcome to spirale! i'm star butterfly, nice to meet you!! "
"Oh is it?" Compliments out here were a dime a dozen, especially ones about appearances. But the student couldn't help but smile at the sudden remark sent right towards her.
"T-Thank you for that. I put a lot of effort in when I wake up to look my best." Even if Mika always had those days where she looked quite literally like someone who was dragged right from her bed and out to do whatever the world needed form her.
"The way you do your hair reminds me a friend back at home. Just as bright and blonde as well. Although her's was much longer..." Maybe a bit too long even tied up in the usual manner she put it in
𝐀𝐒 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐏𝐈𝐍𝐊-𝐇𝐀𝐈𝐑𝐄𝐃 𝐆𝐈𝐑𝐋 spoke of her friend back home, the princess took a moment to take a quick peek at her own blonde hair; geez, she can barely handle this length. she's always getting in to so much trouble that sometimes she just considers cutting it off. she turned her attention back to the girl before her.
" the flowers are such a nice touch-- oh, also, my name is star butterfly, nice ta meetcha! "
star was still new to this funky spirale place; it wouldn't hurt to make new friends while playing around. she quietly wondered if the eclipse would ever bring any of her friends back, too.

Even upon a first glance, he can already tell this is someone who's energy he could appreciate. It's practically impossible to sport those fashion choices and be a killjoy at the same time! Typically, there's a lack of regard for what others think involved there, and while authenticity is nowhere near his wheel house, the sour thumbs in a crowd willing to party are. Besides, he's personally familiar with such characters himself; given, she's missing the braces part of the equation, but long hair, a headband, and bright colors certainly evoke the mental impression of another star he's aware of. Surprisingly, that actually earns her a few brownie points in his books; there's a reason she got a cushy dream bubble to hang out it instead of suffering alongside everyone else. She was fun with an incredibly chaotic streak - something he can guess is a shared trait. Something he might hope is, actually; it'd be a rather disappointing case of false advertising otherwise. He could use more possible sources of unbridled anarchy around!
"YOU KNOW, I THINK YOU MIGHT BE VIBRATING WITH ENOUGH EXCITEMENT TO START AN EARTHQUAKE. ARE YOU LIKE THIS OVER EVERYTHING OR DO YOU HAVE YOUR EYE ON SOMETHING SPECIAL?"
𝐎𝐊𝐀𝐘 𝐖𝐀𝐈𝐓 𝐀 𝐃𝐀𝐍𝐆 𝐌𝐈𝐍𝐔𝐓𝐄, was this floating dorito actually talking to her? oh heck yea, this spirale place was so much fun! she waited patently for him to notice her; if she had a dog tail, it would be wagging a mile per minute. actually, brain -- make a note of that. that would be fun. little did she know what this fun little 'guy' was capable of.
" something special? well, yeah, uh, you!! you're so cool, kinda remind me of a friend back home! "
perhaps... pony head? yeah maybe. but she had two eyes. and a horn. and beautiful luxurious hair. man she missed that crazy princess -- knew how to throw a real raging party.
As she knelt , he closed the distance between them until he was stood a few inches away from her foot. He watched her retrieve his helmet with baited breath. He figured she would be gentle with it , but one could never be too sure.
Once it's offered to him in her open palm , he steps forth to grab it from her. ❛ It is indeed ! ❜ He dusts it off before carefully placing it back upon his head. Looking back at her , he balls his hand into a fist and places it upon his chest in a salute.
❛ Thank you , my lady. I am glad it fell into good hands - or , well , at good feet. ❜ He would just get modern clothes , but he looks rather silly without the helmet on , he's noticed. And the armor makes him feel important. ❛ For your aid , I owe you greatly. ❜

she was definitely entranced by this little being; he seemed no bigger than a little action figure... or even smaller! he was just so cute she wanted to squeeze him. or dress him up. one of the two.
" where are you off to, do you need some help? i bet its super dangerous to walk around when you're uh... little. "

ʚїɞ - "I can't say that I've ever seen magic like that before." Fern had been curious when a demonstration had been offered in exchange for seeing her Zoltraak beam.
"I also have a spell that lets me clean clothes, if you'd like to see that too."
𝐒𝐓𝐀𝐑'𝐒 𝐄𝐘𝐄𝐒 𝐆𝐋𝐈𝐒𝐓𝐄𝐍𝐄𝐃 𝐄𝐗𝐂𝐈𝐓𝐄𝐃𝐋𝐘 at the stranger's display of magic, hands clasped together in sheer joy. sure, back home there were plenty of magic users, but nothing compared to the inhabitants of spirale. in response, the girl decided to show off something impressive -- how about...
" get a load of this.... bright-glow pyro! "
she then lifted her wand in to the air, three small flames erupting from the crown into the air, creating rather small fireworks. ' that's a little more showy back home, ' she muttered under her breath before looking back at the girl with a cheesy grin.
at the second spell suggestion, star laughed before putting a hand on her hip.
" man, with all the dirty clothes i have, maybe I should be practicing something like that! show me, show me!! "
she was easily impressed, that was for sure.

𝐒𝐓𝐀𝐑 𝐖𝐀𝐒 𝐄𝐀𝐒𝐈𝐋𝐘 𝐊𝐍𝐎𝐖𝐍 for thinking before speaking, so it was only obvious that the princess would blatantly point out the man's eyepatch. she had seen him in passing and was instantly coming up with ideas of how he might have hurt his eye. lucky for her, he had stopped off to the side of the sidewalk for who knows why.
without further ado, the girl ran up alongside him, swinging in front of his frame with a big, goofy smile.
" okay so you gotta tell me... knife fight? taken by an angry ex-wife? made a deal with a devil and he took your eye as collateral? accidentally fell on a fork??? that eye patch is so cool! "
watch it be something actually serious and star is just making an absolute ass of herself.

the princess clapped her hands together cheerfully as she wandered to greet the girl. you could never have too many friends!
" sorry to bug you but i just have to say that i absolutely love your hair, it's so pretty! pink is like, one of my favorite colors!! "

" okay so like, how -- uhhhh -- long are you from wing to wing? "
was that the right word... long? width? she didn't know and, honestly, she didn't care. this guy just seemed to ooze coolness.

Even Roman Generals sometimes have their off days. While he tries to carry himself with grace and poise - one stray footstep is enough to send him flying. Literally. Being kicked halfway across a room is better than being stepped on , he supposes , but that margin isn't very wide.
The helmet on his head flies off , scattering across the floor and landing right in front of unsuspecting feet. Octavius scrambles up from the ground , looking left and right for it. When he finally sees it ―― he reaches out to get her attention so she doesn't accidentally step on it. Or him , for that matter.
❛ Excuse me ! ❜ He picks up his pace , dusting off his cape as he approaches her. ❛ I appear to have lost something. Please do not move your foot , I implore you - I would really not like for you to ruin it. ❜
𝐀𝐒 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐒𝐌𝐀𝐋𝐋 𝐌𝐀𝐍 𝐒𝐏𝐎𝐊𝐄 the princess absolutely froze in her tracks, line of sight darting down to look at the source of the voice. oh my god this strange world was teeming with cute little guys in their cute little costumes!
at his request, the girl takes a moment to look around her feet, remaining perfectly still in order to save whatever item he had lost. oh! there it was -- a little helmet of sorts. the girl kneeled down, taking a careful hold of it before holding it in the miniature's direction.
" was this the thing you were looking for? i hope it's not too banged up! "
she smiled cheerfully, holding it out in her open palm for the little warrior man to take.

"Hey! Hey, you!" A sharp, piercing whistle sounds in the other's direction. "Calamity Jane! Yeah, get over here!"
Jed's made it approximately halfway across the sidewalk from the store he just departed from, shoulder shoving up against the rear of a remote-controlled car, its remote haphazardly balanced atop it. That's the trouble with these things - takes two to jury-rig the controls to work right, which is all fine and well, him and Octavius have done it loads of times. But getting it all the way back to where they're staying? Well, that's another matter entirely. Goddamn, these things are heavy. And nobody else has passed this way so far.
He squints up at the blonde, hands on his hips and head cocked sideways. He jerks his chin towards the plastic toy car. "Gimme a hand with this thing, would you? I'll pay ya." That's one of the most thrilling parts about being here, he thinks. The whole having money thing. Feels good, being in control of finances. Now he gets why McPhee's always on such a power trip about it.
𝐒𝐓𝐀𝐑 𝐇𝐀𝐃 𝐁𝐄𝐄𝐍 𝐓𝐀𝐊𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐀 moment to explore the new area she had been thrust into, not noticing the miniature beckoning her attention. her head snapped in his direction, immediately becoming overwhelmed with absolute DELIGHT of this little man in his little car. good thing he got her attention -- she could have easily stepped on him and his cute little remote-controlled car. wait, calamity jane? who the heck was that.
without further ado, the princess spun on her heel before walking towards him, looking down at his vehicle with a quirked brow. at his request, she shook her head, waving her hand in the air with a light laugh.
" oh geez, you don't haveta pay me... i gotchu! "
she kneeled down, taking a hold of the remote before cocking her head to the side. if he needed to get somewhere, she could easily carry him... he was like, what, toy sized?
" do you need to go somewhere? i can just take you and your car if you want. i'm not doing anything! "
He could do without the reminder of what exactly he's holding, but who is he kidding? That's what it is. She isn't wrong.
His thoughts translate into a dismissive wave of his hand, feeling no need to defend something he has no attachment to (...and as long as people don't think he chose to have it in the first place, he won't feel offended, either).
"Eh, it kinda is. I'm only holding onto it because..." Uh. Why is that, actually? He's sure he's thought of at least one reason, but you know what that doesn't matter right now. If the words "actual wand" hadn't already piqued his interest, then the sight of it sure has. "Nevermind. I'm supposed to have something like that, actually! A lot... like that...."
Getting a bit closer, he peers down at the girl's wand with equal interest and fascination. The star, the crown, the wings... It looks, well, exactly how he'd imagine a teenage girl to decorate a wand. Which is charming! But it just leaves him with a lot of bigger questions. "Huh. Guess you're just lucky," he says encouragingly. He's kind of jealous now, admittedly, but that's not something he's going to take out on her. "Did you, uh, make it yourself? Or did it come from somewhere?"
𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐆𝐈𝐑𝐋 𝐂𝐎𝐍𝐓𝐈𝐍𝐔𝐄𝐃 𝐓𝐎 watch the smaller purple-haired man, quirking a brow at the mention of his wand. in response, she looked down at her own wand before back at him. as he drew closer to get a better look, star held it out to him for him to get a better look.
at his question, star let out a small laugh. i mean technically she did make it... but not in the way he thought.
" i mean, this wand has been passed down through the butterfly line. when i grabbed it, it changed to look like this! it changes depending on who holds it... pretty nifty, huh? "
she grinned playfully before tucking it away in her star bag, turning her attention back towards him -- it was so nice to meet a friendly face upon entering such a strange new world! she clapped her hands together in sheer excitement before speaking once again.
" so, you must be new to this place, huh? me too!! i'm star by the way, star butterfly! "

(queen she was no longer, but old habits die hard, as they say.) the Caster waits, giving the younger girl the time she needs to calm herself. she doesn't know how someone can just ignore a frantic teenager, but luckily for the other, Skadi was nearby and capable of assissting. it mattered not that she was in some unfamiliar place. if a child needed her help, then she would give it.
humans were weak and frail, needing a god to help them survive. she would love them enough to do just that.
lips form a smile when the other girl isn't close to hyperventilating any longer. " There. Now, what's wrong?"

𝐈𝐓 𝐇𝐀𝐃 𝐅𝐈𝐍𝐀𝐋𝐋𝐘 𝐃𝐀𝐖𝐍𝐄𝐃 on the princess that, if she was here, her family and friends were all in grave danger... something was happening back at home and she wasn't there to help. in response to this sudden realization, the girl began to pace in the same spot while biting her nails unconsciously. she had quietly hoped that they would come to the city to be spared of what was happening in mewni... but at the same time, that wouldn't solve the problem.
lost in her daze, the mewman didn't realize a woman had come to her side, attempting to relax her. star took a moment to listen to her words, turning to face her before following her word. she raised her hands with a deep inhale before lowering them as she released the air. she took a moment before taking one more deep inhale before exhaling. she began to fan herself, trying to make the tears that were threatening to fall to get back where they came from.
she lets out a deep sigh.
" okay, okay, i think i'm good... man, i haven't freaked out like that in a long time. i'm sorry you had to see that. "
god, it was embarrassing to absolutely freak out in front of a total stranger. unconsciously, the princess began mindlessly putting her magic wand in her mouth, seeming to chew on it as a form of self-soothing. too bad for her wand, though.

Caught in a bout of frustration, which has just generally culminated from being in this place, he seeks something to take it out on. It ends up being the silly and frankly kind of insulting wooden rattle he was given, which is promptly thrown at the ground with an audible huff.
Mere moments afterward, he glances up to see that someone definitely witnessed that. A young girl, by the looks of it. Ah, whoops. Not setting a good example, is he?
It's reluctant, but he ends up picking the rattle back up with a forcibly-less-frustrated clear of his throat. "Littering is bad, I know." And he would've done so even without someone watching, promise!
This girl, though -- there's something familiar about her, albeit more along the lines of recognizable magic prowess than a face he's seen before. She may not be human, then.
"They give you something like this, too?" Might as well take a stab at it.
𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐏𝐑𝐈𝐍𝐂𝐄𝐒𝐒 𝐇𝐀𝐃 𝐁𝐄𝐄𝐍 walking around aimlessly before coming across the little.... purple guy with wings -- well this was a unique sight. he seemed neither mewman nor human... maybe a monster? hmmm, no something was different. this spirale place was full of surprises!
star had been watching him nonchalantly, not really paying attention one way or another, only being shaken from her stupor as he threw his wooden rattle to the ground. as his attention shifted towards her, mentioning his action, the princess only laughed, walking closer towards him with crossed arms.
" oh i don't mind! at least you picked it up, right? no harm no foul! "
when he inquired as to what the stars had given her, she pulled her magic wand from her star-shaped purse, quirking a brow as she looked at then before back to him.
" hmm, no they actually gave me my actual wand... i did notice that a lot of the new people had like... dinky versions of their actual stuff. i wonder why they let me have this? "
how strange! oh shoot wait... she quickly threw up her hands with a nervous laugh.
" not saying your little rattle is dinky though!! "
