“oh? you’ll have to forgive my assumption.” when he laughs, it’s gentle and musical. bells in the wind. kaworu rocks back on his heels, straightening his spine as a single handle lifts to brush hair from his eyes. dimples press into his cheeks as his smiles, eyes squinting up, red shimmering.
“what with you staring so intently.”
kaworu slips his hand back into his pocket, quickly, as to not give her time to notice the small, clean lines of scars on the soft flesh of his wrist. head turns to peer down the corridor, brief, before focus returns to her. her soul beats in time to the same song as his, but his own hisses in anger at hers for taking what rightfully belonged to it.
why is he laughing ? there was nothing to laugh about yet there he was. perhaps it annoyed her because she had never laughed, because she had never experienced true happiness. though she didn’t show she was annoyed, pale digits played with the fabric of her school dress, making her look like an INNOCENT child.
❛ I’M CURIOUS. ❜ and there was no lie on her words, rei wasn’t someone to tell lies, the times she spoke she told the truth. crimson hues still looking at him, she had only blinked once or twice since they had started talking, too fixated on him to bother to do so.

when he passes her by, he’s aware of carmine eyes—not unlike his own—fixated on the back of his head. it’s enough to make the corner of his mouth quirk upward, to make him stop in his tracks just to glance over his shoulder. that flat stare would be enough to unnerve anyone. not him, however. no, he’s fine with pivoting on his heel to walk toward his fellow vessel sitting on one of the benches pressed to the cold walls of the facility.
“is there something you need, ayanami rei?” kaworu stands before her, leaning forward with hands remaining in his pockets.
her red eyes never leave his figure, she’s still WARY of him, even if shinji thinks he isn’t up to anything bad she can’t make herself to trust him that easily. her expression doesn’t change when he walks towards her and she doesn’t look away. she watches every movement he makes with incredible concentration. crimson hues fixed on his. NEED ? no, she doesn’t need anything, not from him however. ❛ NO. ❜ she speaks softly, her voice always the same tone, always monotonous. she stays silent for the next couple of minutes, everyone knew she wasn’t a talkative person. ❛ WHY ? ❜ she tilts her head to one side, there’s curiosity in her eyes, nothing else.
