someone bought us $150 worth of diapers off our registry today :’)

i’m trying so hard not to just gush about this baby

we thought about not announcing our pregnancy on social media at all, and just being like “suprise, we’re parents” this winter. but now that i’ve broken the social media seal, all i want to do is tell you that she feels exactly like two or three tennis balls being massaged against my insides and that she responds to her dad’s voice and that loud music startles her into dancing and that i think she’s funny even though i don’t really know her at all.

a little girl asked me what I wanted to be when I grow up

i hesitated and told her that I was already sort of grown up

she thought a moment and asked me what i am

i hesitated again and told her that i’m an artist, and her face lit up and she said, “that’s what i want to be too!”

and it had never occurred to me that i told every adult who asked that this is what i wanted to do, and i’m doing it, and it’s all very strange and surreal

i just want to meet my girl!!

she’s getting super big and strong, responding to our voices and kicking up a storm. This week she weighs nearly 2 lbs, and is about 75% of her estimated birth length! There’s also a pretty strong probability that she could survive with a lot of medical help if she were born today.

I won’t miss very much about pregnancy, but I will miss her little kicks and pokes.

i totally underestimated how long it would take me to write 80 thank you notes by hand

update: bright & clean was an exhibitor yesterday at a major bridal expo, and it was the most exciting day i’ve had in a really long time! i think i have a really busy year ahead of me.

taking Bright & Clean to my very first bridal expo in ten days and truthfully I have no idea how I'm going to get all of this done

you guys, i totally underestimated this storm. we’re fine, everything here is fine, but i can’t believe the destruction in Houston and along the coast. i don’t know how harvey took me by surprise like this

today my daughter is almost a foot long and only weighs a pound

life is funny and god is good and we are having a little girl this christmas!
