Blasting on Social Media

An apology is just a form of damage control. We are human we all make mistakes; but that doesn't mean the mistakes you've made, doesn't show what kind of person you TRULY are. Being human doesn't give you the right to be a piece of shit. Exploding all over social media and then back tracking with a fake apology doesn't make things right.

To the people who walked away from this pyramid scheme of a community I have nothing but respect for you. I'm sure it was a hard decision to make. You have those members who ONLY support you because you are apart of that group, who will no longer support you. You may receive backlash for stating your opinion or even guilt tripped for leaving because of it, but I truly do believe you will find a better way to grow your stream without being attached to something so toxic.

Communities are about having a safe place to vent, to make friends and network with other people. It's not about being basic bitches, like you're in high school backstabbing and tweeting all about the confidential shit that a person told you in private. I'm not sure how anyone can trust one after that but there's a lot of naive people out in the streaming community.

I get we have things said about us so we get angry. Trust me, there's a reason I am RagingBlonde. We don't stop to think on the repercussions. Hell it's the internet I don't think people believe their are repercussions for their shitty behaviour. I honestly believe this person truly thought what she said was okay, that no matter what her “community” would stand by her. Sure some did but there was a lot of pissed off people. She had to back track, put out an apology because she needed to do some serious damage control. The same shit Logan Paul had to do after posting a video of someone who committed suicide than laughed about it. He has to do damage control and issue an “apology”. Lets not forget that partnered streamer last year who literally slammed and bashed all female gamers. Calling us a bunch of sluts. Stating we shouldn't be gaming and we're ruining the gaming industry. He as well had to issue an apology in order to no longer be suspended from twitch.

A little story & the first time I am ever speaking about this.

I helped create TrueUltimateGamers. Lets be real for a moment; If myself and the other co-creator who walked away had of stayed. TUG would have became one of best damn communities on twitch and still kicking ass today, and the 3rd ORGINAL co-creator wouldn't have put a certain person on blast having TUG be no more.

The problem with that is greed. Unfortunately for what TUG was becoming and what I knew the plan was after the fact I walked. Not only did I walk, I boycotted it. I would not retweet a single fucking tweet with the hashtag #Tugfam because TUG stood against everything I believed in when it came to what a “community” is. TUG was all about what the streamers can do for THEM. How to get them to grow so big they could eventually start making money off it. It's wasn't about what TUG could do to help support the streamers unless they were kissing the asses of the creators and mods. Like how most communities are ran.

I left in a private manner only to have the co-creators make up a fake story about how it was too stressful on me. I had people ask me and I didn't bother to say anything and I not once bashed them or tried to make people stay clear of that “community”. You're all grown ass adults. Do your research. I just took my own stance and boycotted and moved on to focus on my own streams, but boy is it ever the start as to why I am Anti Communities and the fake shit they all stand for.

The point I'm trying to make here is true colours eventually come out. People feel because it's social media it's okay to let loose and bash, and create drama.

This all started because a senior mod of this team made a long truthful PUBLIC post as to why he left. I read it, I felt there wasn't anything wrong with what that person has said. The leader of said community even stated she didn't read it, because she has no time for drama. Not only did she have no time for drama she made sure she created a whole bunch of it. Feel free to check a twitter page where you can post your confession's anonymously about this community.

I get it, she's human but what do you think happens to CEO/President's who royally fuck up in their line of business? Are they allowed to be “just human?” No. They are a leader, they are placed on a higher pedestal whether they fucking like it or not. So maybe this person should work on being a better person, maybe surround herself with less toxic people. I don't like two faced, fake ass people. It is my BIGGEST pet peeve in real life and it's unfortunate that it's everywhere including in streaming communities. This is why I don't hide behind an alias and I speak my mind. Sometimes I am tactful when I do it, other times I'm a horrendous bitch. I know this. But I owe it to myself to be a better person, for myself, for my trainwreckers and for people who read and look up to me. This is why I have not once mentioned the name of this person nor this community.

All I can say is, if you believe in something and someone truly has done wrong towards that thing you believe in. Don't be an idiot, walk away. You don't even have to make an announcement for people to know if you're scared of repercussions, just do it. There are plenty of other communities out there that are less toxic and better. I don't even believe you need to be in a community to grow your stream. You can do it on your own by networking properly. If you are looking for a community feel free to send me an email and I'll send a list of actual communities that aren't toxic.

Twitch as a whole has amazing people, but there is also a lot of shitty people as well. Open your eyes, pay attention to details and have better standards for yourself. Communities are not a quick grab to fame. You still have to grind and work hard for everything you want. Just don't get lost in branding yourself to them and lose yourself.

I would also like to point out I am not an ex member of the community which I spoke about. Never have I joined them, befriended them or anything. I wish everyone the best in this situation no matter what. Do better people, because if you're a leader of one of the biggest communities on twitch and you have a breakdown like this and let your emotions get to you. It's unacceptable.

Soul sucking bottom feeders

What do you do when you want to change your life but

1. You don't have the education to go into the field you want

2. You hate people and are very limited in who will hire you for work, because of too much experience or not degree to fall behind you.

In a month we lose our work contract. I hate my job it's soul sucking and this isn't what I want to do anymore. I haven't wanted to do it since I left Calgary. I only went back to this line of work because I hated working in a call centre it was dreadful and my EI was almost up from when I was laid off from working in Vancouver.  

So on my drive home I kept asking myself “What do YOU want?!” realistically you can't really do much without certain education. Though I have an education in my background I'm currently doing, I no longer want to advance to become a police officer, or work in this field anymore. Sure there's lots of other things I can do such as Border Services, Corrections, Sheriffs, Peace officers but to me it's all the same. Soul sucking and dealing with criminals and pieces of shit's on a daily basis.  

I realize jobs like this aren't good for some with my mentality. It make me hate the world, I'm bitter and have zero faith in humanity. My sister is finally doing what she's wanted to do for year and thats go over to China and teach English. I use to be a goal catcher, chase my dreams do things and the last two years I've just felt dead. Like there is nothing left to fight for, to feel for, to love or do. Yes I know there's a whole world out there to experience and I use to dream and want to travel but becomes difficult when you're limited funds and I just feel numb to it all.

For years I've been soul searching or I should say running away. I'm like a Gypsy, I stay in one spot too long and I start to get stir crazy. I start to feel my walls closing in and I need a change. But that change doesn't do anything. We think if we can just start over, fresh start it'll be better. It doesn't get better, you change the scenery not the situation. No matter where you go whatever it is you're running from deep down inside once you've settled down and become familiar with your new place the old creeps back up.

I often find myself wondering if maybe I became more spiritual would there be something more to live for? I don't even know how to find my self or even start searching. So as I was asking myself that I wanted it clicked in. Find a spiritual shop to work in. I'm into crystals, tarot cards and other stuff. I love reading about it, learning about it and maybe it might put me in a the right direction if I ever wanted to open up a small business.

I feel 2018 is going to be a better year and here are some of my personal goals.

New line of work.

Start a website

Look into going back to school

Have 1/3 of my debt paid off.

Remove myself from social media and just get the fuck outside and do something else.

Find myself again.

2017 was sure filled with joy along side some heart break when it came to streaming for me, losing friends, losing my community and really just realized there's more to life than online.

I was first introduced to streaming and LOVED it, all I did was stream and for over a year it had been my number one priority.

After this long journey, fighting depression and real life battle and hiding myself into my streaming has made me realize that, I haven't been healthy and honest with myself. There are so many other things I want to enjoy that streaming really takes up a lot of time & for what? To miss out on party events. To stop doing all other projects. Now That I have a time sucking job it's really hard to want to constantly stream the way I use to with the limited time I do have off.

I have made amazing streaming friends, I've also lost people who I thought were friends. I've also watched amazing streamers just walk away.

What I've learned in 2017:

Follow for Follow is a number's vanity. It doesn't actually bring in real viewers, but it does get you to that glorious number you want.

Twitch is a fickle community. One min you'll have people always there, the next they'll find someone else to watch. Don't take it personal.

You will always have people unfollow don't focus on that negative aspect of it. I get about 5-15 unfollows a week. So if you see those numbers drop you're not alone.

Affiliation really didn't make twitch greater. It's brought out a lot of negative aspect of people's personalities. (not everyone but quite a few.)

Don't compare yourself to what other people are doing, even if they are doing better. Be proud and happy for them and continue to focus on yourself and what you really want. People have made twitch partnership within a year of streaming. Some people now have the opportunity to become a partner after 6 years of streaming. Things take time, especially when there's a lot of learning involved.

Learn from our past mistakes and just keep moving forward in a positive manner.

Social media can be very Toxic and a time consumer.

You can lose online friends just as easily as RL ones. (So I do apologies if since the summer my guard has went up and been hard to take down. Just tired of being expendable to people.)

Explore options and be open to meeting new people outside of your inner twitch circle.

What I'll do better for 2018:

I'm not going to take streaming so serious anymore. I have a time sucking job and a life to live and create. I've literally felt lifeless for too long it's time to get back to goal setting, aspiring self.

Anything that has weighed me down in 2017 will not hold me down in 2018.

I'm going to continue with my blogging and plans to help people be better in their own streams.  

I will continue to work towards having an amazing community within my streams. All you amazing Trainwreckers who are supportive and there for me now, I do hope you will continue on with me in my streaming journey into 2018

Work on more community mingle days. Sometimes it's nice to hang out without the pressures of streaming.

To stay more focused in life and my streams. Sim streams will be better as we come down to the final big of Big Brother and other Sims streams! My Focus will be mostly sims with the odd time playing other games.

Dear Console streamers:

I know how much you think streaming sucks because you don't have all those niffy colours and alerts to bring people in, but keep being awesome and keep streaming if that's what you really want. Because if you as a console streamer can bring in people to watch you without all the benefits PC streamers bring in than you are doing something amazing! Keep working hard towards your goals.

I wish you all a happy new year, an amazing 2018 start and for people who work hard for what they want, I hope you accomplish everything you set your heart out for. Don't give up just because it seems pointless or endless.

Communities: A fad or here to stay?

Please note, this isn't here to offend anyone. BUT if you are easily offended, I'm sure this blog will offend you. This isn't just MY opinion on communities, this was actually created by me, with the help of some other streamers who have shared their points and views about communities.

“We support everyone.” “Give support, receive support” “Follow for follow.”

Do all these sound familiar? How often have you found yourself in the middle of these false hope communities only to find yourself still at no new viewers or even have no viewers coming in EVEN when you've supported this amazing community??

Here's a few questions you should answer for yourself:

Why did YOU start streaming and what is your goal outcome?

What exactly are you looking for when you join a community?

If joining this community, do you feel that your original goal for streaming can be accomplished?

Do your research when joining a community. Join their discord, check out their twitter see what they are actually about. Be there for a few weeks to see if they actually suit you. What does the community offer YOU? Is there a spotlight or streamer of the week? If you have been those, have the creators of the community actually come by to give their 100% full support. I'm not talking about just “lurking”, interacting to you, chat etc.

Do you fit in or is this another numbers grab for the community? Are you forced to support every streamer or only the community members? Do you find that most of your time is being taken away, to be in this community that your own streams suffer? Do you know it's okay to leave a community because it just doesn't fit your needs? Do they recommend placing their logo all over yours? These are things that get completely looked over.

Positives to a communities

Game/community nights

spotlight/streamer of the week

may or may not bring in more views.

How you can promote/market your community WITHOUT losing your individuality.

Tag on twitter when doing tweets. Use the community page on Twitch (3 options for the person in more than one) & have a panel on your twitch page if wanted & even have the team in your twitter Bio (IF YOU HAVE ROOM) Please don't sacrifice your stuff because you joined a community.

I can NOT stress this enough. DO NOT put the community tag beside your name on twitter. If it's a requirement for the community. It's not a good community.

The community does not PAY you.

Community tag is looked at first before your name. You've just lost your individuality to over probably Hundred of thousands streamers. Which means you don't stand out.

Put the community tag in your twitter bio ex: #OGFAM if there is room. Community members can still look you up without the tag beside your name.

If you stop getting support or a community refuses to support you because their name isn't beside yours, or in your twitter bio. I would personally move on. I know I've had to.

People seem to confuse communities for bringing in viewers. Communities should be about meeting other streamers alike, playing games with people you like or even network with each other to do a collaborations. Communities shouldn't be about joining and ONLY focusing members of the community. Remember communities are filled with other streamers with a common goal you have.

My twitter Bio has enough room to put all my stuff in it and maybe fit one community. I have a specific community on there because I'm actually apart of their stream team. By not being able to put certain other communities in my bio I've noticed they've stopped retweeting/promoting. Plus it just looks more professional rather than having 20 different communities on your bio. You can also see a little about me and what I'm about.

Negatives to communities:

They want you to brand to them, for marketing purposes to get their community out there.

Community creators failed to realize that – Using their name to tweet, using the community page created on twitch. Doing shout outs and having a panel of their community on your page IS still helping marketing their brand.

Supporting everyone – impossible. As a creator of the community if that's your slogan than yes, YOU should be supporting everyone. As a streamer, you are there to network with other people, not sacrifice your streams because you need to support someone who supported you.

Follow for follow – It's the little black book inside the twitch community. All those numbers are there for vanity reasons. Oh look how many people follow me... 90% of follow for follows don't ever show up to your stream.

You lose focus on the WHOLE twitch community as a whole, and just focus on the one you are in.

Personal Opinion

There are two types of people who create communities.

The people who actually want to create a safe networking space for streamers.

People create them for their own personal gain.

After a year of starting two communities, walking away from one and doing outcastgamers differently. I've come to realize one thing Communities are a twitch fad, and to be honest you can grow your stream naturally without having attachments to it. Communities are an attachment. Do for us, and we'll do for you. Its a Give and take concept.

I've learned a lot over the years of streaming, you go in with a blind eye and people can definitely take advantage of you. Communities love new/small streamers. When you're in a community you shouldn't feel like you OWE them. You owe another member for showing up. You owe another member a follow, you owe the community for all the stuff they do for you.

Not everyone is going to like each other. Not everyone is going to enjoy watching people play games they just aren't interested in. Sure they say you can throw them a lurk? Personally I prefer to interact, I prefer to have a conversation with a streamer, and their viewers while being in their streams. Yes we love our lurkers, but if you're going to throw out a “fake” I lurked in your stream, so now you owe me. I don't have time for that. I host people I like, I host games I like. I follow people I like and I try and bring my personal community over to other people playing SIMILAR games.

I find a lot of people in the last year who join communities miss out on a lot of awesome opportunities and other streamers around them because they feel they can't branch outside of a community.

For everyone who thinks they couldn't make the affiliation without their community. I just wanted to say YES you could have. You are awesome enough, sure it takes time but you as a streamer are the reason you got invited to the affiliation program because you were able to keep those viewers.

This is all the stuff I have experiences within communities. Some people may have better experiences and are perfectly happy. This blog wasn’t created to stop people from joining communities, it was created so people can stop turning a blind eye and actually think about the decisions they are making trying to make it in the stream world.

Every day you are going to meet a dozen of people through social media, but you are not going to connect with everyone and that is okay.

A common question I hear is “How do I bring in more views?”  Answer: “Network”  BUT How do you network?

First I want to say, don't force yourself to network with people on games you don't like or care about. When you join communities they tell you to support all, go into streams, lurk, chat, connect. No one has endless of hours during their day to do that. To stream themselves, go into other streams to support. Go to work, take care of the kids and whatever else you have going on. So here are some things that have worked for me and other's I have coached.

The do's of Social Media Networking:

Talk to people, ask about their interests believe it or not networking isn't about you.

Find streamers that play the same games YOU like to play.

Connect with them on a personal level, if you play on the same system ask (not in a stream chat but in a DM) if they would like to collaborate with you. Collaborating can bring in new supporters, and have you meet new people. PLUS you might make new friend.

Tweet them out, shout them out.

Example: I got a new follower on twitter, saw they Stream, play off the PS4 and is from Canada. 3 basic things we have in common. I thanked them for following, and asked them what their 3 fav franchises are and what they are currently playing. The conversation continued and I followed back on twitter.

I didn't ask them to follow my twitch channel, or to do follow 4 follow. You're probably wondering why? Simply because I prefer not to have empty followers. It's okay to have small conversations on twitter to connect with people. Sometimes it's just a conversation and that's it.

Tip: I go through the list of streamers I follow that are live and tweet them out in a bunch. You'd be surprised how many times I've went into a stream and that streamer said “OMG It's you! Hi! I want to thank you for all the support you've shown me.”

The Do's of Stream Networking:

Follow people you like, that you ENJOY watching. People that you're willing to chat with, hang out even if it's for 10-20 mins at time.

Join in RAID's! Chances are if you enjoy the specific streamer, you may like who they host/raid. It's another way to connect with a variety of streamers.

Host the streamers who you support.

ALWAYS host after a stream. Don't let it jump to an auto host.

Learn the Twitch Etiquette

Tip: If you're only following people in hopes they'll follow you back. You're going about it the wrong way. Not everyone is going to follow you. This is why I can not stress this enough about following people YOU actually want to watch and support. There are a bunch of streamers who know I'm a streamer but never followed back. I don't take offence to it. Also twitch has a follow cap. I believe it's 2000 so you can not actually follow every single person who has followed you.

The don't of Social Media Networking:

Auto DM's they spam up messages and twitter doesn't have a mass delete section. Not to mention no one reads them.

Don't follow/unfollow because you didn't get a follow back. Simple solution is to communicate!

Don't complain you have no viewers/bash other streamers on social media.

The Don't of Stream Networking:

Don't promote your stream in someone else's stream.

Don't ask to have your stream shout out EVEN if the streamer does shout out's.

Don't just pop in say Hi and never come back. That's not networking. Even if you've shown up ONCE and hung out. Still not networking.

Saying “I just pop in to say hi, but now going to support other's.” Isn't cool.

Saying “Okay going to start streaming now. Bye” Isn't cool either.

Tip: Sometimes it'll take weeks for a streamer to want to follow you back or even knowledge you're a streamer and that's okay. This is why I tell you to follow and connect with people you like that you enjoy watching.

You want to bring in viewers, more or less of people who DON'T stream. Don't be afraid to host even if you only have 1 viewer. Don't even be afraid to do a one man raid. Sounds stupid? Here's a story...

Shout out moment:

You see @patrix_raider_tv is an amazing streamer who started off streaming VIA console. He never let having lack of viewers stop him from raiding anyone. At first it was the one man raid, which soon evolved into the one man maple raid! Pat now has viewers who 100% support him, and even though after he streams he has raiders. When he's at work he comes into your chat loud and clear with his maple raid emote to show love and support.

Last but not least:

Be Bold, be Genuine and Fearless. Soon enough you'll start to see yourself networking with more people than you ever thought was possible.

Hello Friends & Streamers:

A leprechaun and a Hyena have joined forces. The great big “Mission” statement.

After taking part in many different streaming groups/support groups and also being a creator of two. I've come to realize a lot are doing right but there's one thing missing. Advice and HELP to actually get people to REACH their goals. OutcastGamers and TeamLeps have joined forces together putting their different perspective and mentalities to help people to strive for the goals they want.

This collab/community is not a support group for, follow for follow. We are streamers who want to see you strive and succeed with your goals. We want real people who are passionate, want help & and to LEARN to grow their channel. People who are dedicated to be streamers, people who want to put blood sweat and tears into it. Yes we can support everyone, follow who ever you like. but I want this  to be a learning experience for all, to show what real support and real help is about. TeamLeps is more of a laid back approach. You're a streamer who is just doing this for a hobby, or to meet new people, make friends and game with. You don't care for the serious side of things you're just here to have fun and game. We have lots of people who are within this community like that.

There are a lot of people who just start streaming, have done zero research and think it's easy. Trust me I was one of those people until I started doing it. I've had ups and down's mistakes and things that work. It's a learning curve. There will not just be a straight line of success it will be all over the place because you need to find out WHO you ARE and what you want to do with your streams.

What works for others might not work for you. You need to find YOUR inner streamer and WHO you want to be. We believe in helping people, not just following and lurking. We believe if there's an issue or if we're in your channel to throw in some advice to maybe make it better.

OG/TeamLeps isn't about becoming BIG with tons of streamers. We're not about making money we're about being honest, talking about struggles we have, and HOW we can help other's accomplish their goals. If you have ideas but don't think it's a good idea for your stream. If you have no one to really talk to that is why we are here!

Asking to push for partner while you're at 1% is unrealistic. Joining affiliation without a community will be a really tough stressful journey because you HAVE to make 100$ in a year. We will give advice, the best possible advice and while we grow ourselves we will help you LEARN how to GROW. The rest will be up to the hard work and dedication YOU put into it. Once more for old time’s sake

🔥 With your help, we passed Title II net neutrality protections. Now we need to defend it.🔥

On December 14 the FCC will vote on Commissioner Pai’s plan to repeal Title II rules. This week he tried to justify that decision with a “myth busting” explainer where he makes a lot of sweeping claims he doesn’t think you’ll fact check. 

So let’s go through his big points:

❌ Mr. Pai claims ISPs won’t block access or throttle content

These are the real facts. Before Title II, the internet was so “free and open” that… 

Comcast blocked P2P file sharing services (EFF).

AT&T blocked Skype from iPhones (Fortune) and, later, wanted FaceTime users to pay for a more expensive plan (Freepress).

MetroPCS blocked all streaming video except YouTube (Wired).

In today’s media market where the same huge companies make and deliver content, Commissioner Pai wants us to trust that corporations won’t use their dominance to bury competitive content or services. 

❌ Mr. Pai claims Title II keeps ISPs from building new networks

Here’s another claim Commissioner Pai doesn’t want you to fact check, but:

AT&T’s own CEO told investors that the company would deploy more fiber optic networks in 2016 than 2015 when the FCC passed Title II protections (Investor call transcript). 

Charter’s CEO said “Title II, it didn’t really hurt us; it hasn’t hurt us” (Ars Technica).  

And Comcast actually increased investment in their network by 10% in Q1 of this year (Ars). 

❌ Mr. Pai claims repealing Title II won’t hurt competition

As we mentioned above, ISPs tried to interfere with the services their customers could access and courts had to step in to stop them.

The FCC tried to craft net neutrality rules in 2010 called the Open Internet Order but the ISPs sued and won. The courts told the FCC that the only way to guarantee a free and open internet was using their Title II authority. Without those protections, any of these things would be legal:

Your ISP launches a streaming video service and starts throttling other streaming services until they’re unusable.

Your phone company cuts a deal with a popular music streaming service so it doesn’t count towards your data cap but lowers your overall data limit. If a better service comes along (or your favorite artist releases new tracks somewhere else) you can’t use it without incurring huge data fees.

A billionaire buys your ISP and blocks access to news sites that challenge their ideology. 

Repealing Title II would be like letting a car company own the roads and banning a competitor from the highways.

❌ Mr. Pai claims there won’t be fast lanes and slow lanes

Let’s break this down: We won’t have fast lanes and slow lanes, we’ll have “priority access” and…non-priority access? Well gosh.

This week we co-signed a letter with more than 300 other companies—businesses Mr. Pai gleefully ignores—urging the FCC to retain the Title II internet protections. Now we need you.

Oh, also: that post about automatically unfollowing the #net neutrality tag—it’s not true. It’s really not. That’s not who we are. Whatever happened, we haven’t been able to reproduce it. We tried. A lot.

But if it were true—which it’s not, we feel compelled to say again—THAT’S EXACTLY WHY YOU SHOULD CALL YOUR REPRESENTATIVES and demand a free, open, and neutral internet.
