This project aims to create a visual contrast between two subjects taking “the military” as an axis through the appro- priation and resignification of photographs from the Chorril- los Military Academy and my own point of view about issues such as LGBT rights, gender roles, urban tribes, and identity and family relationships. Control systems and the army life- style are at odds with self-expression, gender deconstruc- tion and the chaos of the Peruvian “underground” scene. Thus, a reconciliation is not sought but rather a questioning through the visual clash between these two opposites.
