“Hey, hey.” He nudged the other with a mischievous smile. “What happened to the astronaut who stepped on chewing gum?” Ben was having a hard time holding back his laughter for the delivery of the pun. He was so amused by it, one of his colleagues had told him it earlier because it reminded them of him and rightfully so. He was snickering until the person responded. “.. He got stuck in Orbit.” It wasn’t exactly the most funniest science joke of them all, but Ben was probably overtired and couldn’t contain himself. He’d been up and running since 5 o’clock in the morning.
Maybe Francesca had a poor sense of humor or maybe she’d had her head buried in too many chapters of accounting theory that by now she found anything funny. Whatever the reason, she was giggling at the man’s joke. “I don’t suppose you have another one of those, do you?” she asked. “Because for once, laughing feels good.”
