Li li wasn’t sure what she was expecting in Greece however being there was a cultural shock for the Chinese princess as she looked around the large space they had outside. She knew having as many royals as there was they had to have the space but it was overwhelming. “I wonder how much planning went into all of this.”
max brought his gaze over to the princess, a smile coming across his face as he set eyes on her. “quite a lot i’d suppose.” he mentioned, hand gesturing to the open space before them. “do you think they’ll be bringing in the next load here?”
- ̗̀ (he/him) is that HENRY GOLDING coming off the private jet? oh no that’s MAXIMILIEN DUBOIS the 30 year old PRINCE of MONACO. people often say they remind them of MUFFLED MURMURS, A LIGHT BREEZE, SHARP TANGY WINE. they are arranged to marry CONSTANCE WU, GINA RODRIGUEZ, EMILIA CLARKE, ANY FEM FC. ( adopted )
max was adopted into the royal family as a newborn so was raised with the other children from birth.
his biological mother was a lady-in-waiting to the queen who left court when she discovered she was pregnant. however, it was concealed that the biological father was the king and that after his birth, max was brought to court to be raised by the royal family. an injunction was awarded and his birth mother gave up her rights to him.
apart from the king, queen and a few members of the royal household, nobody knows about max’s true identity. instead it was said that he was adopted by the family as a brother and friend to the crown heir.
even though he was not treated unkindly, the prince didn’t have a close relationship with his adoptive mother (for understandable reasons) though he never truly understood what the issue was. the assumption being that she hadn’t agreed to the adoption.
due to this, he admired and idolised his father — but he believes his father to be moral and honourable. which isn’t the case.
whilst his interactions with his mother were awkward and almost cold, the relationship that he had with his siblings was a close one. he became close friends with most of them.
with the lack of a mother figure, max had to grow up quickly and now has a strong sense of independence — perceptive beyond his age. still, there is a great desire to prove himself to society and to his father.
there is some shyness about max. particularly when it comes to his arranged marriage. he believes that he is not worthy of the status, as he isn’t prince by blood.
Freya knew that she had a smile on her face that seemed to be permanent since the phone call from her parents. Despite the cold winter outside the walls nothing could get to her. “It’s a beautiful day outside isn’t it?”
max looked across to the other at the mention of the weather. the smile that could be seen on her face was mimicked by the prince. “it is quite beautiful. this time of year is often underrated compared to the rest... particularly when in greece.” he replied, gaze moving to the view that was before them. “is that the only reason you’re smiling?”
“Pippa, no.” The blonde grabbed the golden retriever puppy, before she was able to jump up on the person a second time. Dark hues glanced at the other person, while a frown played on her lips. “I’m so sorry, she’s not used to unfamiliar faces. Did she hurt you?”
“hurt me?” max scrunched his nose, kneeling down so that he could pet the familiar pup. “you’d never do that would you, pippa?” anybody would think he was talking to a baby by the tone of his voice but he didn’t mind — soon getting to his feet to see his sister.
Dominik continued throwing his fists at the punching bag that was chained up and hanging from the ceiling. Each hit recoiled just a bit back into the fist that was wrapped and ready to go at it again. Even as the door opened he didn’t take his focus off the swaying bag, powder littering the floor in a light dusting below it. “Don’t,” he huffed. “recommend,” and again. “coming closer.”
max didn’t intend to disturb anyone. as a matter of fact, he’d have preferred the privacy for his own workout — but with the overcrowding that currently populated the castle, there was already the assumption that somebody else would be in there. “not exactly the greeting i was expecting, but i can see that you’re busy.” he commented, heading to the other side of the room where the weights were set out. “or are you conscious of the smell?”
