fourth magical girl was taking a little longer to complete, but she's here now! this girl's casual and magical designs are based on the costume of people from the Republic of Adygea!
a temporary description for her character is included below:
- is demanding, irritable and snobbish; she is in charge of the Earth regiment
- wants to get recognition from Rimma for her services; faithfully follows all of her orders
- has the ability to control Earth
- is dismissive of Tasya - it won't be too hard for Nuryat to take away the Sun stone from an oaf like her, right?
in Adyghe culture, the costume itself is meant to be modest, therefore its patterns aren't usually intricate - the costume's beautiful complexity lies in the sewing technique of its golden elements
and the golden sewing technique wasnt reserved only for costumes - various household items were also made with it (such as bags, hand fans, towel holders, scissor cases, wall decorations, clock holders, etc.). The examples below contain various museum examples collected from Circassian (Adyghe) peoples, which Adygeans (the Adyghe of Adygea Republic) are a part of as a sub-ethnic group:

clock holders are fascinating to me, because it shows how revered clocks were at that time... you don't make a piece like this for any random item in a house!
here are the golden-sewn items up close: i was so impressed, when i looked at these items closely, no wonder it took weeks or months to make just one golden element for a dress
i'd like to share one more thing about the costume itself, before ending the post: the evolution of the кафтанчик that occured over the course of the 19th century.
in an interesting twist of events, it seems that the кафтанчик used to be worn either without a сай/сае dress, or underneath it by Adygeans. but as time passes, the кафтанчик begins to lose its parts little by little.
by the end of the 19th century, it has dissolved into a breast plate, waist pendants and sleeves - the only parts that are visible from underneath the сай/сае dress.
however, since the Adygeans could wear it without a dress, there are examples of both versions кафтанчик being in style, even at the beginning of the 20th century.
