I think Ponyboy's view on his relationships with the other Curtis gang members is really interesting because I believe two things:

1.Ponyboy doesn't truly see how much the others care for him because of his insecurities.

2.Members of the gang may just not like Ponyboy...and what he says about them in the book may not be as far from the truth as the fandom likes to believe it is.

I am a youngest child who has been teased my whole life and I can definitely say that I have been convinced that people hate my ass when they most likely don't. Ponyboy isn't trying to be unreliable in his narration it's just what he believes based on his experiences. Steve is an dick to him, and whether or not you believe that he secretly has a soft spot for Pony, it makes sense that Pony would hate Steve and think that the feeling was mutual. I love Steve & Pony fics that explore their relationship but like...dude I have been in Pony's position!! It sucks!!! I get why he thinks Steve hates him because, in a way, Steve probably does!!

And with Darry, I can 100% see why Pony thinks Darry hates him. I love Darry with my whole chest but he is kind of an ass in the book to Pony, and there is a definite difference between how he interacts with Pony vs Soda. Even though we, as the reader, can see why, but Pony cannot cause he's 14 and insecure and still getting used to the shift in dynamic between him and his brothers. Maybe I'm just biased cause of my life but idk man.

I had examples for all the other characters but none of them made sense so...I hope you guys understand what I'm saying.

Also being the youngest in a group (esp when the group consists of your siblings and siblings' friends) is awful. 0/10 do NOT recommend. You think everyone sees you as a bother or whatever or that you're just tanging along with the big kids because your older siblings are forced to. You are never fully convinced that they aren't just waiting for the right chance to kick you to the curb.

Or something like that.

All I'm saying is that, if I were in Pony's position, I would also be convinced everyone (minus Soda and Johnny) hated me and didn't want me around.

Again, we shippers in fandoms see ships bc we see potential/possibility and chemistry. You can be a non shipper yes but as long as the ship is safe, LET US SHIP WHO TF WE WANT WE ARE A FANDOM FOR GODSAKE

The one major drawback I can think of if there is an Eleven-only/Mileven wrapup miniseries or movie is that there will be a significance amount of fans who will wail that their lives are ruined if Eleven and Mike survive the project and that a certain shipper group will wail even louder that a happy ending existed for those two at all.

Don't get me wrong, I support such a project happening. I think those two deserved a good future as much as anyone else did. But the discourse will be wretched.

Calling mileven “magaleven” IS WEIRD. Comparing a ship that is perfectly legal and fine to a horrible group of people is weird. A lot of Milevens are Queer why would they support maga…? Obviously not saying Maga Mileven fans don’t exist but grouping them together is odd….

B*lers using Mileven goodbye as a gotcha moment because mike didn’t say it back when he literally said in the season 4 finale that he couldn’t say it because he thought that it would make the day he lost her hurt even more like literally his worst fear is canonically loosing el, when Joyce cut off Vecna’s head and it cut to everyone’s motivations and trauma from vecna it didn’t show the day will went missing for mike, it showed the moment El went into the void after they kissed and he thought he lost her. It was clear from context that Eleven was saying i love you as a last goodbye for mike so obviously mike wouldn’t say it back when he was actively trying to change her mind and was literally begging her not to kill herself.

i both hate and love being a mileven fan right now,

because on one hand, we’re getting the cutest content, tales of 85, MAX MAYFIELD SHIPS MILEVEN HARD btw (for all those who think she would ship byler) and yes i do NOT stand by what i said earlier t85 is adorable and canon for me:)

on the other hand, mileven is still down in popularity both in number of followers and in public opinion too! i literally saw a reddit post saying they “don’t ship byler but hate mileven” i- why would you make it your primary aim to hate mileven😭

mileven is one of the best couples, they have great chemistry, they look out for each other, and i seriously think ur the one talking bs rn.
