Today we celebrated my first born child leaving home so he can live out his child hood dream of becoming an American Solider. I never thought I would be filled a sense of pride at the same time deal with tears of joy and sadness. There will never be enough words to express the gratitude I have to my Heavenly Father who gave me this wonderful gift of my son, Elijah. To everyone who taught, coached, showed him love, support, guidances, discipline, counseled Elijah in addition to the parenting Nikki, his Step Dad Wes and myself gave him. From the bottom on my heart I thank you. We will forever be grateful to the village of people who helped raise him!! Now we send him off to serve our country so he can help protect our freedoms. Chivalry needs to be practiced everyday, especially in today’s society. If Jesus is the lover of your heart then you will understand this concept to a deeper level. There are a lot of ways to discern a person’s character. One of the best ways is by watching how they treat those who are powerless to repay either kindness or contempt. And people are always powerless when they aren’t even there to defend themselves! In other words, the way he/she talks about other people says more about their character than anyone else. With that in mind, consider the following questions. How do they talk about their ex relationships or ex spouse? His/Her boss? Friends? Family? Is there kindness in their words? Does he/she lean toward forgiveness and grace, even with those who have wronged them? Or is he/she bitter and prone to blame? No one is perfect and there will be points made about the relationship that were negative. So of course their will be some negative responses about the situation and about other people. Of course they didn’t always get along with their ex. But the real question is this. Does he/she stew in negativity about her, even if he’s nice to her face? Or does he make an effort to be forgiving? Now... take this one more step. Because of Jesus sacrifice, there is NO condemnation if you choose to give your life over to Him. Just as God set out a purpose to have His son born by the purity of a Virgin and live life in the flesh battling the very temptations you and I battle. Jesus accepted Father God’s purpose. He in turn lived His life with a purpose to abolish Religion. Sacrificed Himself so YOU and I can have direct contact with the creator of the Universe through Him!!
