Watching Star Trek as an almost forty year old has me saying stuff like, "Bones is ABSOLUTELY right. What the hell are you doing allowing random alien entities in orbs use your body for?? Are you out of your mind?!" 😆

spock and mccoy are both purposely incendiary to get the other to consider a different perspective on the world.. sometimes it crosses the line but usually it's more of a debate club than actual malice.. but it'd be inaccurate to say neither of them purposely picks out wording and phrasing to get a rise out of the other bc that's also a big part of how they work.. their verbal jousting maybe is a way to get the other to fall off their horse so to speak.. if I get enough of a rise out of you the mask will slip and maybe then you'll see we aren’t so different after all.. two guys that make a big show of being polar opposites but are maybe the most similar people on the entire ship

My star trek tos take is that if you are a reaaalll big fan of spock and you absolutely HATE bones because he's "mean" to spock. you fundamentally don't understand spock as a character
