Idea for Blackrock holiday/tradition

saw "Great Blackrockian Bake-Off" in this post so im expanding it:

Its partly a baking show and partly a cultural thing that came out of a tradition/holiday; during the peak of winter, Blackrockians would bake treats and other food to take up to Ice Dagger's temple in a mountain and offer them to the deity, as a show of respect/gratitude. Since cooking something good in a mostly-eternally harsh place like Blackrock requires creativity and skill, people would try to make the best food possible and Ice Dagger would pick who did the best. [Blackrock's culture is enforces excellence/ingenuity so this is a big deal]

After the Scorching and the SFOTH deities mainly stopped interacting with mortals, Ice Dagger sealed off his temple, and his whereabouts became unknown, but people still continued the tradition and made an actual competition out of it to make up for Ice Dagger no longer being the 'judge'.

The Great Blackrockian Bake-Off is more often called the Deep-Winter Bake-Off, since the tradition was loosely associated with the term "Deep-Winter". Every inphernal in Blackrock gets a week off for this holiday and almost everyone watches or participates in the competition.

Inphernals outside of Blackrock generally don't know about this or dismiss it because of the region's outward appearance/stereotype of "a harsh, unforgiving and cruel nation".

I imagine that Nabla and Aleph’s family speaks a ton of languages (bc letters of alphabets from different languages). So a lot of the time household languages are actually multiple languages put in a blender into a semi-coherent product, example “Chinglish”, or Chinese+English in Hong Kong. And Nabla and Aleph would speak in that way to family and each other.

Also both of them are fluent in 8-10 languages, give or take, English not included because that’s they’re still learning it.

Also one or both of them has probably done a version this at one point:

“Hey can you pass me the… the uh-“ struggles to remember salt in english “άλας.”

someone else: “…do you mean salt?”

got yet ANOTHER brain worm of the knights (help)

but like imagine Wels is an avian so he has wings and loves flying, and Hels also has wings but they’re chained up bc Hels is some personification of Wels repressing/being in denial of trauma he went through before joining Hermitcraft, and Hels keeps his wings hidden with large cloaks and illusion magic so he doesn’t have the reminder of the chains, to the point that Wels doesn’t even know that Hels has wings. now and this song:

from Hels’s perspective for most of it bc he’s seeing Wels flying and he’s stuck here on the ground

and for the part: “can you tell me there’s an issue” that’s Wels noticing something is definitely wrong and he wants to help but Hels won’t let him

we have "Welsknight speaks old english" and "Welsknight knows latin", so clearly the most logical step is "Welsknight speaks old english in latin, and its kinda like his main language and no one gets it but Joe of the Hills variety and Helsknight(who also does this)".

I rest my case.

ok we all know Wels has a dog but what about giving Hels a dog or a Helsmit ver of Riley(Wels’s dog) like:

-what if Helsmit!Riley was still called Riley but is something like a nether hellhound

-missed opportunity to have both Rileys be 100% besties in every way while thier owners hate each other

-also trying to call one of them ends up calling both

(ex.

Wels: “Riley! Come on we need to go!” *both dogs appear* “uh-“

Hels(chasing after his dog):”where are you going- oh.”)

in season 10 Wels mentioned his DND obsessions so: Wels going on a tangent about the campaign he's running, while in a sword fight with Hels, and its like:

sword clang Wels : -so they've entered an abandoned village to use as a rest spot after clearing the dungeon, and-

Wels parries a swing

Hels, interrupting : Make the village a mimic.

Wels : ...

Hels : None of them can run, they're already in the village.

Wels : ...oh my god.

(it almost TPKs and the party has to use the one-time magic item they were saving for later)

bc HC season11 started in the nether

this is an excuse to describe a scene i wanted to share the reason the Helscape(or the place where the Helsmits live) exists is bc at the start of a world the server tries to spawn the Helsmits in where world spawn is like normal, but freaks out bc theres a existing players with the same code/player ID (the Hermits) and makes a new dimension to dump them in HC season11 world spawn is in the nether and the nether doesn't do the same thing as the overworld, so 30 mins after the Hermits spawn in and start season 11 everyones' communicators buzz with a ton of notifications in world chat like this : {a bunch of names are from works on Ao3 but i can't remember where}

[edit: yes there are people missing but i dont have names so pretend they're there]

<xisumavoid> : I don’t know these people, I’ll check spawn {and many other confused messages from the other Hermits, along with apprehension from most} Xisuma goes to spawn and is greeted with 20+ people(as many as there are hermits) that look like his friends but aren't, that are both confused and violent. That all draw weapons at once, including but not limited to: sword, longsword, cleaver, bow, crossbow, sickle, scythe, shortsword, dagger, spear, halberd, staff... etc. (pointed at X)

The Helsmits also are questioning Xisuma all at once mostly with "why are we here", "what did you do", and "who are you"

context: Welsknight and Helsknight share a body(AU thing) and are in a snowball fight against {any hermit}

[the knight's body language would be different for the right(Wels) and left(Hels) sides] [also they have hawk wings]

Hels: "It would be really funny if we threw an icicle-"

Wels: "Hels no, you'll hurt them"

Hels: "They'll be fine! Besides its a good use a free will-"

Wels: "Its a *terrible* use of free will-" ~~~

{any hermit} squinting at the knights arguing with themselves(it looks like a person talking to themself) from across the snow battlefield like "What are they doing?" before having to duck from an icicle thrown at them like a knife and hearing Wels's voice: "HELS YOU ALMOST STABBED THEM!"

AU under the cut

Wels and Hels were originally a single person working as a knight in the army multiple centuries ago, the Original Knight encountered a Watcher and had to fight it along with their group while on an assignment. During the fight they broke the Watcher's mask and that really angered them, and bc Watchers are potent magical beings, they have the ability to do things like split souls, which happened to the Original Knight, making Wels and Hels. This Watcher(named Valian, the Puppetmaster) then kept the two halves as puppets to guard the Watcher's Den. [skipping forward abt 200 years, Wels and Hels are magically kept alive by the Watchers] Grian ends up breaking Wels and Hels out of their puppeted state while trying to escape the Watcher's Den and just brings them along to Hermitcraft. [skipping forward in time again, abt 2 HC seasons] The Watchers find Grian again and also take Wels and Hels with them, one of the Watchers(Kaliynx, Soulweaver) decides to put them back together for fun. [and Grian breaks them out again and here we are]
