There was a serious surmise that any possible fight between Gilgamesh and Lugalbanda would end with Gil being dished. It wasnāt something that Lugalbanda would try to achieve, though⦠He wasnāt a pacifist type, but fighting his own son was quite unacceptable for him when there was no specific damning reason.
"I do not see anything wrong in this," he said. "Actually, it is good to see that you are not overly lax when it comes to your image. I approve of your attitude."
"I suggest you to relax a little bit⦠You seem tense. Thereās no need for you to feel nervous. Or maybe I am wrong and you are quite relaxed already?" he smiled gently. "Try to smile more. If I remember correctly, it makes your face look better."
If he was younger, the honest approval from the man in front of him may have sparked something in Gilgamesh's chest, but now, not a single emotion but disgust responded. He didn't want approval. He didn't need approval from anyone...not anymore.
"I am not lacking anything, least of all anywhere near by face," truly only Lugalbanda would believe that there was anything lacking with him. Gilgamesh - he who believed himself to be perfect in every way would not allow anyone to think different. Unfortunately, Lugalbanda didn't fall into his jurisdiction, there wasn't much he could do but grumble like he had.
"Nor am I going to go around and smile for no reason. My face is fine."Ā
