Glimmer of Hope
For those worried that the upset is only in the NAEU community, I want to bring attention to the Ivory Tower concept art currently being eviscerated on Weibo.
These skins are undeniably Gen AI-influenced, with particular attention being drawn towards the flasks in the background, the weird proportions of Eli (not pictured), and Lucky Guy's four fingers.
And the Weibo fandom has been ruthless towards it since it was dropped. The top comments, condemning the Gen AI-usage have 536 likes. Some of these comments and likes may be NAEU payers but I doubt all of them. There are 2332+ comments and the majority of them are condemning Netease's Gen AI usage, dismemberment of Joker Studios, the quality of the skins, or all three. Hell hath no fury like an Eli Clark fan.
Do not give up hope and do not think NAEU is alone on the subject. If all three servers remain pissed, if all there are joined in by Marvel Rivals and other communities, if all three keep their voices inconvenient, the cost of Netesae using Gen AI will be greater than the profit from dismembering Joker Studios.
Keep fighting, fellow Detectives.

. . . FEW! XIE Bi’AN & FEW! FAN WUJIU X GN-READER !
-Scenario and Drabbles included! + Authors Note at the end of post. | Scenario WC: 2k words + no beta read we die like them in lore
☘️ . Qixi Festival with Far east wind, How will it play out?
« 💐 » SCENARIO
It was a lively morning at the imperial palace, waking up from your slumber— hair messy, back painfully hurting from the hard bed as you yawned. Despite getting what feels like a sufficient amount of sleep, you were clearly still tired from the almost never-ending, tiresome and utterly miserable palace duties that you had to fulfill.
You sighed as you stretched and prepared yourself for another day of palace work, as you rubbed your eyes, you heard abit of muffled talking outside of your window.
You unlock the locks and open the wooden doors, immediately letting out a groan as the beam of dawn’s rays immediately burn your irises. The light also brightening up the once dimly-lit room behind you.
As your vision finally starts to adjust to the changing world, you wonder, who would be making that much noise early in the morning…? you redirected your focus to the direction of the lively chatter from outside of your headquarters that caught your attention.
you took a wiff of the fresh morning air as you saw the two, excited palace maids chattering near you.
“I’m so excited for today…” One practically shook in delight. Giggling as she fumbles with an object clearly behind her.
“I spent all my free-time embroidering this pouch for that scholar… you think He’ll like it?” The girl excitedly pulls out the hand-embroidered pouch from Her sleeve as she gave it to the girl infront of her to examine and scrutinize.
“I heard He usually likes this colour…” she hid her face in her hands as if she were a child getting her first crush.
The Girl in-front of her takes the pouch and takes a closer look, examining it before returning it with a smile and patting the maid’s shoulder
“geez you goof. Get back to work or else the matron will give you a handful again!”
The once cheery palace maid, realizing her station and position, slumped in gloom.
“ugh… you’re such a kill-joy!”
You watched as the two girls bid goodbye before heading to their designated work stations, these types of conversations were practically the norm to you as romance within the palace walls and between workers wasn’t uncommon, albeit the relationship had to be hidden and often ought to be prioritized the least.
Such as your relationship with Xie Bi’an and Fan Wujiu, the Generals whom you adore— aswell as the heros of the country who are risking their lives for the sake of peace.
No one but the Emperor knows of your budding relationship with the Generals, and It is better kept that way. Solely for the safety of you, and them both.
Your heart aches with intense yearning for your lovers. You’d do anything to have a drink with them once again, Hide away in flower fields far from the wandering gaze— to even sharing a starry-night view above the palace walls while the rest of the world soundly takes a trip to the land of slumber. But alas, duty weighs significantly heavier than a palace worker’s want for affection.
They’re hundreds of miles away from the capital too, protecting, and maintaining the integrity of the country’s borders.
you brushed it off, as dwelling on a return that would take seasons would hinder you from having any work done.
Besides, figured it was just another coworker in-love as you ignored your heavy heart and continued to dress up from your sleepwear to your usual palace wear.
As much as you would prefer to stay in bed and reminisce about your beloved generals, Alas, duty calls.
You’d much rather deal with your Lady making you clean the entire pavilion than the Matron forcing you to scrub the grimy outer palace floors with a heavy scolding.
…………………..
Walking around the palace halls, today was uncharacteristically pretty lively inside the Palace, yet the liveliness also contained abit of confusion in your part. Nothing wrong with the atmosphere not being usually dull… It was like everyone was in a hurry, you saw Palace-maids scurry around with embroidered gifts and Eunuchs consulting foreign merchants delivering goods on where to find the perfect “gift”. Hell, You even saw a Palace-Maid bring a gift to one of the Guards working near the courtyard.
Just what’s up today…?
you soon noticed one of the Concubines with her lady-in-waiting from a distance, going to the same direction as you were. The Concubine brimming with glee as she struts down the halls in a more elegant fashion.
“Oh.. I’m so lucky, aren’t I?” The Concubine looks at her Lady-in-waiting in immense joy.
The Emperor asked me to accompany him for the festival!” The Concubine boasts with glee as the Maid beside her nodded in agreement.
“Very much so my Lady! you really are a lucky woman. The Gods have blessed you with splendor! Who knew the Emperor would choose you for this day?” The Concubine closes her eyes in contentment, still clearly excited.
You stare at the both of them with an inquisitive look.
…Festival? Festival. huh? no wonder the palace was lively today. You immediately walk over to the two and blatantly asked about whats so special and whats the deal with the sudden Festival.
The Attendant looks at you surprised, abit stunned.
“You really don’t know…? do you know what day it is today?” She eyes you as if you just shared the most shocking secret you had.
“No?”
Judging from her surprised stare, it seems like you did forget something special today. I mean, well, the entire palace IS suspiciously lively… so why wouldn’t you be curious as a fellow palace servant?
The Attendant looks at you before sighing with a small smile.
“Heres a Hint. its usually a day where couples spend some time together.”
‘Where couples spend time together…’ you repeated in your head for a little while and then it clicked.
You finally realized that it was the seventh day of the seventh lunisolar month.
“Oh…”
No wonder there was love brimming in the air, It was none other than Qixi Festival!
“Qixi…” you muttered, the attendant smiling at your newly-found discovery.
“Thats right!”
The attendant gives you a smile as she looks at the concubine besides her.
“Lady Xue has gotten very lucky as the Emperor invited her to spend time with him this Qixi Festival. We’re currently heading there to visit Him.”
You stare at the Concubine who appears to be dolled up for the occasion, shown by the expensive jade and gold hair ornaments and elaborate attire.
The said Concubine— who normally would scoff at other palace servants including you, looks at you in a happy manner before pulling on her attendant’s arm.
“Thats right. The Emperor isn’t really a patient man, afterall, sorry to intrude but we have to make haste.”
The attendant then turns her gaze back to you as she smiles apologetically before waving you goodbye.
“Sorry. My Lady is right, please excuse us!”
you return the gesture as you are now left alone in the halls, sighing to yourself as you’re now finally catching up onto things.
“Qixi Festival… Huh.”
…………..
as the day progresses, It was almost like torture. you see more and more couples in the Palace, Hell, you even saw the Emperor and Concubine Xue together inside the Garden! so lovey-dovey it could make anyone throw up!
This never bothered you atleast until now, well, not until you met both Bi’an and Wujiu. but how can you ignore it when your lovers are the refined imperial generals of the emperor? and nonetheless, miles away from you?! of course it’ll bother you that you can’t spend time with them… especially in such a special occasion like this!
But… there is no use moping around, you understand that they have to protect the country as it is their duty, not even just a duty— their sole responsibility.
They’ll just send a letter to you anyway, right? Theres no way they wouldn’t.
The Generals from the far east winds missing on writing you a letter in any special occasion? no way!
They always send you a letter; for your birthday, for your promotion to becoming an attendant for the noble consort— basically anything!
Maybe you’re just gaslighting yourself… it’s not like you’d doubt your lovers, maybe they don’t even have the time to send a letter today...
No problem, atleast you have something to look forward to eventually.
atleast.
……………………
You were a little tired from your palace duties, after-all. Luckily the consort gave you a break… which you were abit surprised at but pried no question further. you just took the opportunity to rest, she wasn’t this lenient until now and you have way too much on your mind to even work properly.
As you laid your head on the courtyard pillar, mind clouded with the thoughts of the Festival and Palace-work ahead of you, you hear footsteps getting close to you before stopping right besides you.
“You seem to be upset?”
The person questions you.
Thinking it’s just another servant thinking you’re slacking off, you sigh in exhaustion.
“Yes, please wait. I’ll get to work when my head is refreshed.” You shoo them away.
“Oh dear, must I call the imperial doctors?”
OK, is this guy trying to get on your nerves or just too thick-headed to not catch your drift?
“Excuse me, that is not necessarily-”
You immediately look up and in your gaze… was Xie Bi’an.
You blink your eyes again.
Did you miss Him and Wujiu so much you started to hallucinate about them?!
You blink oncemore.
Still there.
You rub your eyes. Maybe something got in!
Still there.
He gives you a small smile, looking at you with such tender eyes.
“Hi. did I surprise you?”
You stare at Him in shock as you blinked a couple of times, He tilts his head in confusion from your silence, expecting something else.
“?”
“___, are you-“
“You… When did you get Here?! You’re not training at the frontier? Wait! wheres Wujiu!?” Hundreds of questions were immediately brimming inside of you as you rub your eyes, not believing the very person you’re yearning for is here!
“Wait— I thought you were going to be gone for atleast a couple more months!”
You spew out as you continue looking at him in denial that he was there, as if he was unreal. speak of the devil. you were just talking about Him and Wujiu!
He looks at you, obviously enthused at your shocked face and merely laughs it off. finding your panic abit amusing.
“Ah- I knew you’d start asking questions… slow down, I will answer them all, okay?”
He sits you down at the bench nearby, following shortly as he sits next to you.
“Wujiu is currently discussing with the Emperor about the soldiers, conditions at the barren camp and whatnot. But I can assure you that everything is currently peaceful in the frontier.”
He pats your head.
“We just arrived this morning. I was about to visit you, actually. but It turns out you’re here in the courtyard looking as if you’re sulking.” He chuckles before stopping as he looks at you questioningly.
“or are you sulking?” you immediately flush at his accusation despite his guess being correct, waving your hand at him.
“…Enough of that, But this is sudden, didn’t you both tell me through our letters that you both would be staying in the frontier for a little while longer?”
He thinks for abit.
“Initially, Yes. but is it so bad to want to spend time with your lover?” He turns you around from the bench and rests his chin on your shoulder.
“It’s a special day today, Wujiu and I have been constantly negotiating with the Emperor, you know? and the frontier has been peaceful as of late, besides, Me and Wujiu want to spend time with our dearest palace attendant, of course. so… the decision was set in stone.”
You look up at him, still in shock from the news of their sudden impromptu return, Yes. but also in happiness that they came back to spend some time with you…
“Oi.”
You both turn your heads to a familiar deep voice, seeing Wujiu at the courtyard entrance.
“Leaving me out again..? such neglectful lovers I have.”
Both you and Bi’an spill a laugh as you two invited Wujiu to a group hug.
Despite everything, they still remembered.
Not in a medium of paper, but with their hearts.
DRABBLES
Seeing both of your lovers finally after so long— you couldn’t help but tear up, wetting their robes with your tears from how emotional you were!
They’re emotional, too. You may have yearned for them, but who said they weren’t yearning for you harder? Life at the frontier was just unbearable without you. They just wanted to immediately take the horses from their stations and just immediately run back to you!
Of course, such actions would put harm into the capital… especially you, so they held off the burning urge to just go back to you; for the sake of your safety.
Well, no use in dwelling in the past! Now they are with you, with their beloved palace servant. The Noble Consort can excuse you this once right? She can’t deny a request from the Generals who’re responsible for keeping her beloved emperor safe…
You and them explore the Qixi Festival being celebrated in the capital— with both Bi’an and Wujiu in disguise, of course. Everyone would panic seeing them unannounced, thinking the improbable event of a war may occur.
As you dart around the festival with your lovers, you see a bunch of festivities happening: such as some of the women showcasing their exceptional needle-threading with some preparing for the competition in the evening.
Some were even paying respects to whom the Qixi Festival was based on, the Cowherd named Niulang who fell inlove with weaver girl, Zhinü. By preparing offerings to worship, and gain blessings from the couple.
Of course, there were many stalls with beautifully crafted souvenirs, lovely thin and fried pastries carved into fruits called qiaoguo made for the occasion, there were so many things to do it was overwhelming!
Not to mention, your pockets were empty. You were so excited to finally spend time with Wujiu and Bi’an you completely forgot to even bring a couple silver! you silently start choking yourself at the spot. All the souvenirs looked amazing, too…
Wujiu, noticing your obvious disappointment to your dismay, grabbed a small bag of coin from his robe and lightly tapped your face with the bag to stop your trance.
“Don’t fret. Me and Bi’an will buy you the entire market.”
You roll your eyes at him as you tugged his sleeve to a stall selling pastries. “Let’s hope you’ll have enough then! I’ll be buying souvenirs for my other servant friends and I am not skimping out!” You cheerfully quip, making Wujiu smirk at your rebuttal.
Xie Bi’an shakes his head as he sighs with a smile, trailing behind you both. Thinking how lucky he is to have you and Wujiu.
After a day filled with snacks, buying souvenirs and paying your respects with offerings– the sun has made its mark and had begun setting. Leaving the sky an orange and blue hue to indicate the rise of the moon.
You, Fan Wujiu and Xie Bi’an have ran off elsewhere far from the accompaniment of chatter and far from the reality of duty working in the palace. Sitting across a field of soft grass and flowers, this was a solace like no other.
You three, laying on the grass. Bi’an at your right, Wujiu at your left. You gaze at the stars who accompany the lovely moon, twinkling and if you are quick, even spotted a shooting star.
“Look, another one!” You point above watching as the star slowly fades from your sight.
“I heard your wishes come true if you really believe in it enough.” Xie Bi’an follows the direction of your finger.
“Did you make a wish, _____?” Fan Wujiu asked you, golden eyes looking at you intently.
“I did. I wish this moment can last forever.”
They both smile at your answer, satisfied.
“The sentiments the same, we wish for it too.”
