Learning Process

One hell of a day with 4th graders. Wish I handled things differently. Trying to be patient with myself, not just the kids. Learning so much and I'm thankful. Next time, I'll be prepared.

Worked well for me today. I subbed 3rd grade ESL. Besides behavior, I used this to get them to complete their work, for participation and for team building. The class earned time to watch a short film, which was chosen by the student with the most points. Will use this for every class!

The Countdown

Being a substitute, getting the kids to remain seated quietly is a big challenge. Today, I resorted to a tool my drill instructors used, the countdown. And it worked.
