     ❛❛ What is it? ❜❜ Elbows wresting atop the table, Natsume held between slender fingers a sandwich she had just finished preparing for herself. The gloves she usually wore were folded neatly to the side of her plate so as to keep them an unsoiled white. Before her stood one of the other fifteen students in their group. What his name was, well, Natsume could not say. She hardly paid attention during any of the introductions, only speaking up when it was her turn. Whoever he was, he looked like he wanted to talk.

“UM!”

Now that her attention had diverted itself from the sandwich that she had been eating, Daigo’s words suddenly disappeared from his mind as water vapor dissipated in the air. She was definitely as beautiful as her dolls, from her silky ebony locks to her porcelain skin.

Taking a moment to collect himself, he cleared his throat and sat down across from her. “My name is Tsuwabuki Daigo, and I’m the Super High School Level Paleontologist.....anyway, I have one of your dolls! It’s one of my most prized possessions...it’s the doll of a young girl with short light brown hair and a lively expression! Anyway, I would like to say that it’s absolutely beautiful and thank you for making her...”

Nestled inside Steven's mailbox was a little box decorated with a big red bow. It tied a little note to it: Merry Christmas. And! There was a dusk stone inside.

THE SMALL GIFT DAIGO RETRIEVED from his mailbox had his face light up with glee. A dusk stone! It’s texture was so smooth, the luster perfect….ah! He loved the void that it seemed to create within its core. It was a very thoughtful gift, and he felt he should give them something in return. He bought both of them Twisted Spoons and Odd Incenses and delivered them to their door.

Daigo hadn’t really thought about that before. However, he wasn’t ever finished researching his stones, and if they were on display for all eyes to see, how would he ever get to uncover their secrets? Sure, they deserved to be marveled at, but no one would really understand their TRUE VALUE.

“That’s a good idea, but everyone would just see this as a pretty rock, not a stone that was left here by a mysterious energy and dated back to the time when a legendary Pokemon appeared. Maybe I need a lab...”

DAIGO WAS AT HIS PLACE IN MOSSDEEP, when he heard a knock on his door. Not many people came by his home, unless it was Fu and Lan wanting to play. Putting the stones he was studying down, he opened the door.

“Ash? What a surprise...what are you doing in Mossdeep? Can I help you?”

Daigo ran up to his friends in Mossdeep, it had been quite a while since he had been there. It was his home, and he had become rather close with the twin gym leaders who resided there. Saffron was nice, but it was bustling; he missed the calmness of where he spent much of his teenage and adult life in Hoenn. Saffron may be where he resided now, with his family, but he always considered Mossdeep home. Giving them both hugs, he smiled. 

“It’s been a while, how are you two? You’ve grown!”

HE HAD BEEN TRAVELING AROUND FOR MANY DAYS, his quest resulting in a standstill. The elusive Pokemon Daigo was searching for continued to evade him, despite establishing a relationship with him a while back. Sighing, he was going to rest, until he saw a silhouette of what he was looking for fading away near a trainer. He was young....much like the child who he met in Hoenn who saved them. Maybe this child was special too, and had a way with Pokemon as well. Maybe he bonded with LATIOS...

Striding over to the boy, Daigo gently tapped him on his shoulder. “Excuse me, I don’t mean to bother you, but did you just see a blue dragon Pokemon around here? It’s the mythical Pokemon Latios, and I am searching for it. Do you think you could help me?”

>So I 100% failed in responding to that one starter call from like almost a month ago (due to my OC @clearskye‘s development and another muse as well as homework and things) so I’m gonna do another one now. Tonight I’m rather busy, but I’ll be sure to be on when things clear up tomorrow and this weekend.

"Just because Yuriko is dressing up, doesn't mean we have to," Natsume said, as she watched from the doorway her husband preparing to put on his own costume to which she was intended to match, "we're not trick-or-treating."

DAIGO LOOKED AT HIS WIFE, for once not a cheerful expression on his face. He sighed exasperatedly; this had been the eighth time in the past three hours that Natsume had repeated herself to him, and he was slightly annoyed. She had agreed to celebrate Halloween as a family, and for someone who bought loads of candy and decorated the house with all sorts of decorations (from Chandelure lanterns to large Pumpkaboos to Gengars lurking in the shadows, she even hung up a few Spinaraks which she hated), he thought she’d be more…ENTHUSIASTIC about dressing up. But of course, he shouldn’t have been surprised. Yuriko was dressed as an Eevee, and she asked him if they could dress up too. He thought Espeon and Umbreon were perfect choices. 

But Natsume was refusing.

Daigo gently tossed the Espeon onesie he bought for her at her while he started to change. “Because, Natsume,” he said, tone not as calm as usual, “I want to make Halloween special for our daughter. She asked if we could dress up and I agreed, of course. Just because we’re not trick-or-treating doesn’t mean we can’t get into the spirit. Besides, it’ll be fun, and there are parties we can go to. So just do me Yuriko a favor and  PLEASE wear the Espeon onesie.”

A pleased little flush covers his cheeks when Skarmory immediately nuzzles his hand, the compliment having made the proud bird quite pleased with him. He gently smiles again, pats the bird once more before stepping back and looking up at the champion. He does give a faintly surprised noise at being picked up, fingers immediately pressing against Diago’s until he’s settled on Skarmory, a soft, faintly startled huff of breath leaving him. It might have been a squeak.

“O-oh. I’m sorry. You startled me is all,” He apologized immediately, cheeks pink. But he nods immediately, thanks him softly. “I’m sure I will Daigo-san.” He agreed softly, gently holding on to the massive bird with a tentative touch. It’s not complicated to do - he’s ridden a Skarmory once before with his grandfather - before things became complicated. He has to lean back against the champion during the take-off however.

The flight is smoother than he expected - Skarmory is strong as well as beautiful, it seems. He accepts the flight, relaxes happily and admires the fresh, almost sweet air.

“Hoenn’s beautiful…” Green manages, when he gets his breath back. The height they were at was astonishing as well as a bit intimidating - he’d never flown this height with Aether before.

DAIGO SMILES AS HE LOOKS DOWN AT HOENN, reveling in the sight that he sees every day as he travels. He never grows tired of it; he has seen it hundreds of times, but he agrees with the young boy- Hoenn is beautiful. If Daigo is proud of anything, it is the fact he gets to call this region home. 

Skarmory lands gently at Daigo’s house in Mossdeep, a small island off the main island of the region. It is where he lives, though most of his business is conducted at the Pokemon League or Rustboro. But for now, his work is with this little boy. Once they land, Daigo helps Green off, and opens the door for him. His house is full of stones, to no one’s surprise, and he welcomes him in.

“Welcome to the Tsuwabuki house,” Daigo says softly, bowing to Green, “for while you are training with me, my home is your home. Please make yourself comfortable.”

Volkner sighed, still stiff, but relieved. Steven didn’t seem particularly annoyed by the question, and when he answered, Volkner listened. When he first set out, he’d dreamed of it… being champion. And with his Pokemon – his skill – it had been a tangible goal. Somewhere along the line, his dream had changed, and it was the role of Gym Leader he’d coveted. Nonetheless, there was a lingering curiosity. He couldn’t help but wonder what it might have been like… if he was right in his decision. This was his chance to find out, and he’d found it difficult to pass up the opportunity. 

“Hmn…” he found Steven’s response more realistic than what the media made it out to be. An experience, but, ultimately, not what he wanted his life’s work to amount to. Volkner took in the information, silent for a moment as he considered what he’d just learned: everything Steven had to share. Everything he’d said… he could respect. “I… when I first set out as a trainer, I wanted to become Champion. I thought I would do it, too,” he rubbed the back of his neck as he confessed the information. Few people had been in his life long enough to know it. “I think it was just the glory I wanted… when I was a kid. But now… after challenging gyms and meeting the leaders along the way… I knew this was what I wanted to do. But I’m still new at this… It’s hard to believe sometimes that anyone would look up to someone like me. I still wonder if I can do this title justice.”

“I FELT THE SAME WAY.”

Steven looked at the other man, placing a hand on his shoulder in reassurance. He was only a few years older than this young man, but the feeling was all too familiar and vivid. He didn’t exactly set out on his adventure to become Champion, and he didn’t do much battling outside of gym battles, but he had heard about the challenge and decided to give it a shot. He had never expected to become Champion of Hoenn at such a young age, but he did, and he didn’t regret it. Meeting so many young and promising trainers who loved their Pokemon very much and encouraging them as they either won or lost brought a smile to his face. He was humble, so he didn’t relish in the fact that he was admired and revered, but he did want to inspire other trainers to work hard and achieve their goals. Many people did look up to him, and he didn’t know why, and still didn’t always understand. However, he did know that he did his title justice, and the child from Hoenn that took over would do the same.

“Having such a title gives you some nerves, and you hope you’re up to the challenge. However, the Pokemon League would have never recruited you if you weren’t worthy. Many children who challenge the Pokemon League look up to those gym leaders, and you’re pretty young for a gym leader. If they see that someone young like you can make it, then they’ll be inspired by you as well. I know you’ll do a great job- especially since you care about your Pokemon so much.

NP~ This whole issue has been bugging me for a very long time. I just want people to understand that you can be diagnosed with pedophilia disorder and NEVER touch a child inappropriately. 

There has been extensive debate in the psychiatric community with regards to the labeling of pedophilia. The current DSM has received a lot of backlash pertaining to its reference of pedophilia as a sustained sexual orientation towards children for obvious reasons. 

Not all pedophiles are child molesters (or vice versa). “Child molesters are defined by their acts; pedophiles are defined by their desires,” Blanchard says.

Essentially what people are doing by using these terms (pedophilia and CSA) interchangeably is feeding the stigma that all pedophiles abuse children, and THAT IS NOT THE CASE.

I am not excusing the actions of pedophiles who refuse to acknowledge that their attraction is wrong and choose to act on it, but I am also not supporting this blatant disregard of the fact that pedophilia is a mental disorder.

“[Pedophiles] would be diagnosed with pedophilic disorder either if their attractions toward children are causing them guilt, anxiety, alienation, or difficulty in pursuing other personal goals, or else if their urges cause them to approach children for sexual gratification in real life,” Blanchard says.

All I want is for people to use the correct terminology.
