Suggestion for Institutional Advancement
For this area, the institution should make the training worthwhile. Interns choose companies, industries and other institutions because they believe that they will grow inside the institution they have chosen. The trust given by interns to the institutions should be given back to them by making their training a good training. It means that institutions should teach their respective interns relevant ideas and philosophies that will be useful in the industry and they should guide the interns hands-on.
Moreover, institutions should also check the journal the interns are doing for them to check of the journal is related to the tasks and experiences the interns had. They should always check the journal entries after training every day.
Suggestion for Program Development
The On-The-Job-Training is intended for students to have an experience in the working area. But, the experience will be nothing if the intern is having other concerns along the way. With this idea, the intern is suggesting to expand a staff member's job content to include a wider variety of tasks, greater responsibility and/or authority. Ensure that different types of tasks and levels of responsibility are needed, not just more work in the same task. Monitor and review the staff member's progress and to make the training be at the first or last semester of the final year because in these times, the interns are not thinking of other things, but they will be only focused on the training. Unlike what is happening, interns thinks of other this like the enrolment period and other concerns. Furthermore, ample time for the reports that need to be done by the interns will be given to them.
Suggestions for Self-Improvement
To improve herself, she must be reminded of the things that needed to be addressed. First is her perseverance to the working area. It can be admitted that the intern sometimes feels lazy and it results to tardiness. If she wants to be an effective employee soon, she must be reminded that she must persevere in her work.
Next is her thoughts as an employee. Her thoughts as an employee greatly affected her training experience. The stress she faced inside the company is always compared to the stress she is having inside the school. As an employee, she needs to be flexible to her environment. Being adaptive will help her cope up with the pressure inside the company. Her thoughts must be improved as well as the flexibility and adaptiveness.
Additionally, for the betterment of the training experience, she must persistently remind herself that she was there as an employee, not as a trainee.
During the Internship
1. New and improved skills and how to apply them. The intern’s most important things she can gain from an internship is newfound knowledge. This can include knowing how to fulfill tasks that are relevant to her desired career path and sharpening the skills that she already possess.
2. Professional communications. Working in a professional setting for the first time can be difficult to get used to. But it is the best way to learn how to navigate the working world through real-life, hands-on experience. One of the most valuable skills she will gain from an internship is the ability to speak with people in a professional setting. Discussions with bosses or co workers are different from discussions with lecturers or fellow students, After her internship, she should have a better idea of the appropriate way to behave as a professional. This will help you a lot when you start interviewing for jobs because she will be more confident and will sound more mature and experienced in a business setting.
Before the Internship
1. The intern familiarize herself with the company to understand the company's mission and vision office a body of persons in authority are crucial aspects of any job, and they will make her life so much easier.
2. The intern practice her commute to arrive on time to avoid arriving late, in general, is bad. Arriving late on the first day is awful and sets a sloppy tone for the rest of your internship.
Challenges Encountered by the Trainee
The intern encountered different challenges and difficulties during her training. Nonetheless, she does not let these obstacles hinder her way towards completing her internship
Challenges met by the Intern
She feel overwhelmed and unable to perform to the best of her Ability. It is not unusual for interns to feel overwhelmed, and many are certainly given a heavy load with minimal training. Persevere in the early stages, and give herself some time to come up to speed. If she feel pressured by your supervisor, explain that she want to take the time necessary to do a good job and minimize mistakes. However, if the discomfort is persistent, and she do not feel that things are getting any easier, she might want to reconsider if the internship is worth continuing. She receive little to no feedback, regular evaluations are vital for all employees, but particularly for interns and entry-level candidates. Employees need to know if they are doing a good job or if something needs to change. Many employers overlook the need for feedback, which places the onus on you to seek it out.
