"Guess who's baaaaack?"
“We don’t know you.”
“Who the fuck are you?”
“We kinda asked the question first.”
“Hailee May. What can I do for you?” raises her eyebrow.
"Cielo and Rayo. No last name. And I don't think there's anything you can do really."
Daily reminder that this account can't follow back.
"Mom? Daddy?"
“Anyone… I want to sleep but…I can’t.”
“It’s okay. I can’t ever sleep either.”
"I don't know. I just kinda dream things. Bad things. I don't like them. So I stay awake while my sister sleeps and she does the same for me. I could do it for you, too."

"I'm tired."
“And bored.”
"What's your name?"
Tentative, Cielo reached forward to grasp her hand around the coat. The man was right, it was big - it would cover the both of them, at the very least. Her hand closed around it. It wasn’t that long ago that they’d been living with the other foster children - but really, it’d been terrible there. She’d hated it. Her brother had hated it.
It was better out here, even if it was cold. In five seconds this man had been nicer than all the people she’d come across. She doesn’t think her foster parents would have offered her their coat if she’d asked.
“You’re really nice, sir, but now you’re gonna be cold.”
Helping the Homeless
Greg smiled gently as the girl took his coat, and he shivered but he shook his head. "No, I have another at home. It's fine. Don't worry." He said quickly, not reaching out to take the coat back. He paused a moment, his breath appearing as steam from his mouth. "Listen," He finally said, shifting his feet, still bent over, eye level with the child. "I have sone canned food at home. I could cone back and give some to you." Now that Greg was there, he hated to lrave them helpless. He needed to help.
She shrugged her shoulders. "It's not like we'll be here for long. Someone'll kick us out. They always do." She doesn't know who she's talking to, and she doesn't want to take the chance of him sending them back to foster care. "You don't have to take pity just 'cause we're blind."
The chills that just came down my spine. You guys don’t understand.
that was intense. wow.
I thought he was building a robot ;(
Just…that poor baby…
you know that really sad moment when you /know that feel/?
One of the most emotionally jarring PSAs I’ve seen. Well done.

Things just get weirder and weirder.
What do you mean?
Cielo heard the feet before she heard his voice, heard him hold out something that was bigger than the food they were sometimes offered. It hadn’t been too long that they’d been on the streets this time - even though days condensed and night and day sometimes smashed together violently like the atoms that Rayo always said he’d study. It was usually Cielo who decided to drag them from a foster home.
It had been her this time, too. Rayo was just too quiet for it. She’d dragged him out and out they’d gone, out onto the streets for - what, the fifth time this year? Ever since Mom had turned out to be an imposter …
She didn’t raise her hand for it, which she figured was a coat. Even though it was cold. Even though she was tired.
Growing up to trust people wasn’t something she’d ever learned to do.
“We don’t have anything to give you back.” She told the man, feet readying to be underneath her, to run. “So you can probably move along.” She takes a moment before she pauses and goes, “Sir.”
Helping the Homesless
Greg watched the girl search for him with her eyes and is stomach plummeted further. Oh jesus, she was blind. Shuffling just an inch closer, Greg pressed the coat and scarf down on her feet. "You don't have to give me anything." He said firmly, moving away again, knowing that she didn' trust him, not one bit. "It's a pretty big coat. It should cover you both." He glanced at the boy whom he assumed was asleep, or hoped was asleep and wasn't injured in some way, or- worse.
