Some of you did not spend your childhoods making potions out of random leaves and berries and twigs and just throwing them all in a tub of water and stirring it with a big stick you found and it shows.

Springtime above Salt Lake City - sound on
Do you ever suffer family envy? Like, sometimes I see parents or families that just…treat each other so well. Parents who work hard to give their kids to best opportunities but also who listen to them, who are calm and supportive.
Siblings who are close and who genuinely support each other and are really just like friends but with their extra bond of a shared history.
Warm homes that always seem safe, and the adults are truly adults and have their lives sorted and provide a happy, comforting presences in the lives of their family?
The kind of family that could be written for tv, but it doesn’t seem boring or unfun, it just seems inviting. It’s really easy to be jealous of the people who have that and who often don’t even realise that they are part of some enviable existence.
Giethoorn in Netherlands has no roads or any modern transportation at all, only canals. Well, and 176 bridges too. Tourists have to leave their cars outside of the village and travel here by foot or boat by. So you can probably imagine how peaceful it is here.
Love has been so deeply commodified that we can’t understand anymore what it is beyond flat lists of “what we are looking for” on another person–“handsome” “smart” “good sense of humor”
We think, well, we find an object we are looking for, we buy it. We find a person who meets these qualifications, there! We will make them “ours”. The end
Surface qualities have literally nothing to do with deep compatibility, the ability to reconcile difference in communication, in expression, in experience, and ppl are beyond foolish to think love is as easy as buying something
