Yeah woobification is annoying we all hate woobification and all that but we really don't talk about the phenomenon where an artist or writer is so afraid of woobification that they resort to hitting the other extreme and go for straight villainization instead

Where a character suddenly loses all of their redeeming features purely because even focusing on them for a second has the *potential* to lead to woobification, where a character is suddenly at fault for everything that's happened around them regardless of the context because the writer would rather die than be seen "woobifying" said character

Focusing on a character's more positive features for the sake of expanding upon them or furthering the story is not woobifying, a character who has done bad things can also have redeeming qualities because that's how people work, it's ok to explore those aspects of a character without constantly reminding people that they're a villain or a bad person, it's ok
