Dear @pokemon company, I cannot thank you enough for your bold words of support and encouragement. I've been playing Pokemon since red and blue and throughout all the games we've seen how it only takes a single wrong idea to turn leadership into tyranny. I think back on Giovanni, Archie and Maxie, N, Cyrus, and even Mewtwo from the first movie, and each of them started out with good intentions to help the world but ended up almost destroying it. Growing up a black kid in America taught me what racism was but it was Pokemon that first gave me a glimpse of how to fix it. I will never forget being at the movies and crying when the Team Rocket and cloned Meowths were talking. TR Meowth: "You mean we don't have to fight each other? How can I trust you? You was born different. Clone Meowth: "Meow meow" TR Meowth: I almost made a "clawful" mistake. But how do I know you're not gonna pull a fast one on me? Clone Meowth: meow, meow meow! TR Meowth: Huh? You're right. We DO have a lot in common. The same Earth, the same air, the same sky. Maybe if we started looking at what's the same instead of what's different... well, who knows." I learned this at about 11 or 12 and it made me love Pokemon even more. And now this. Oh my God! How proud am I to be a Pokemon trainer! Thank you so much for stepping up for us! Thank you so much for practicing what you preach. Thank you so much being the very best and for helping me heal as a little blotchy black boy who grew up into a blotchy black man.
