Work together? That was quite the bold notion the primal beast put forward. But…Beelzebub could not deny the logic of Lucifer’s words. It would seem he was as intelligent as he was beautiful. And Beelzebub was not sure if that was truly infuriating or not. Yet.
“Very well,” Beelzebub said in a clipped tone. “You do have a point and this is not a mystery either of us can simply leave alone.”
If such a power could bring the likes of them back to the Skies then there was no telling what it could do left unchecked. Such power needed a strong master. A master like he, Beelzebub.
“At least we can agree on that,” Lucifer said, though he kept watching the astral closely…warily, keeping distance between the two of them – enough distance that his metal wings couldn’t reach him.
“For now we will consider each other allies…which means I expect you not to pull any funny business,” he said seriously, his blue gaze icy as his fixed it on Beelzebub.
“I have no reason to pull any ‘funny business’ as you put it,” Beelzebub retorted, fixing the primal with his own steely gaze.
Until they understood the full extent of what was going on, brewing up any schemes was out of the question. Information was needed before any independent ventures could be pursued safely. For all Beelzebub knew every move they made was being watched to ensure they danced to unseen strings. And the Chaos Bringer did not like the idea of dancing to the tune of another.
“So where do you suggest we go from here?” Lucifer tended to be quite intuitive, leading Beelzebub to feel somewhat comfortable in trusting the criminally attractive ex-primarch with their next destination.
