Picture, if you will, a recording booth. Zachary Levi has been reading lines for the episode “Forest of No Return,” and he gets to the part where they get to the edge of the swamp.

What we got in the episode is not the way the script was written.

The original script called for him to say something like, “Here we are, Princess! Your grand destiny!”

Zac was not having it.

From what I hear, he looked at that line and he 👏 went 👏 off 👏!

He ranted about how Eugene would never say something like that to Rapunzel, how he respected her too much, how he didn’t die for her just so he could belittle her in the middle of her quest! He demanded a rewrite right there, in the recording booth. Demanded it.

God, I wish I could have a copy of that recording of him going off, because the mic was on and recording was in progress.

And that is how we arrived at, “Okay, so the black rocks have led us to a swamp. But on the bright side… I was hoping someone would finish that sentence for me, this place is terrible.”

Man, the amount of comments I’ve seen from people who hate season 3 of The Chosen going, “The scene that not-so-subtly hints that Simon wants to have sex with Eden is so disgusting and blasphemous! I can’t believe they put this in a Christian show!”

I don’t know how to break this to you guys, but…married couples have sex, and it’s healthy for Christian media to provide clean ways of depicting this fact. It’s not like they put a detailed and pornographic sex scene in the middle of the show; the characters don’t even outright use words like “sex” when the topic comes up. A husband being depicted as wanting to sleep with his wife after being away from home for a long time isn’t blasphemous, lol.

I think they forget the same God that created the world, also created sex. Sex has only become seen as impure because of Christian society. The only way sex is done badly is without consent
