One of the most interesting things about the Otalia storyline was that the show was originally planning to have Olivia receive Gus' heart and it was going to be Harley who was going to fall for Olivia. When the show had them share some scenes after Gus died, Crystal Chappell and Beth Ehlers lacked chemistry. Whereas Crystal and Jessica Leccia unexpectedly had chemistry in spades. So they rewrote it with Natalia falling for Olivia. And it worked out so well.

Also glad that before Gus died, he told Harley that she was the love of his life. Thus eliminating any thought that it was Gus' heart creating any feelings Olivia had for Natalia. And loved the scene where Olivia and Natalia are at the courthouse and Olivia says "I'm glad Gus' heart was here" and Natalia replied with "I'm glad YOU were here". Natalia could finally separate those two things -- Gus' heart and Olivia.
