You just hate me because the patterns on my clothes move around like they do on chowder and yours don’t
What [car] would you build a time machine out of?
an old VW Beetle because it wouldn't look out of place literally anywhere
Lancelot: Egad sire! Look at that. King Arthur: Hm, rare to see a VW Beetle this far north. Not impossible, mind.

“Eridians dislike earth because they abandoned Grace.” *Incorrect Buzzer Sound* ya missed the point of the story buddy! It’s not about someone being ‘bad’ it’s about the incredible power of love and that love being worth dying for!
Gimmie Eridians who are absolutely heartbroken to hear that humans where so desperate and so scared that they where willing to part with not just one Grace, there were three of them! Gimmie Eridians touched to find that the humans planned a way for their sacrifices to be as comfortable as possible. Gimmie Eridians who send earth a message saying “We know it must have hurt to send your heroes to die, but one made it and he’s safe here. We lost 22 good Eridians on the journey we would have lost 23 if not for your Grace.”
Give me humans sitting on Earth slowly coming to the conclusion that when we look up not only are we not alone, someone out there is alive because of one of us. That no matter what we think of ourselves a whole species thinks highly of us because we helped save the galaxy. Give me humans who figure out how to send a probe to Erid filled to the brim with messages for Grace and footage of a monument being raised that reads his name, his crews names, and then “in memory of the 22 Eridians who lost their lives on the journey to save the stars.”
shhh... the little beans are yapping
We need to lay more blame for "Kids don't know how computers work" at the feet of the people responsible: Google.
Google set out about a decade ago to push their (relatively unpopular) chromebooks by supplying them below-cost to schools for students, explicitly marketing them as being easy to restrict to certain activities, and in the offing, kids have now grown up in walled gardens, on glorified tablets that are designed to monetize and restrict every movement to maximize profit for one of the biggest companies in the world.
Tech literacy didn't mysteriously vanish, it was fucking murdered for profit.
Linux is a very good and powerful alternative.
reminder: you cannot Personal Choises your way out of an Intentional Structural Problem
Fun fact! School Chromebooks block Linux. It's not an easy alternative. You are missing the point
Yeah. You can’t learn how computers work on a machine / OS that’s been intentionally nerfed.
Plus Googlebooks are rolled out not for kids to learn about computers, but as devices for them to look at curriculum materials, access class shared Drive folders (maybe??) and take standardized tests.
You might as well give them a filmstrip viewer and Scantron bubble sheets to fill in, then expect them to have learned how the cassette tape makes the filmstrip advance.
We really haven’t interrogated the role of technology in the classroom.
By some studies, historically, general cognitive ability and reading comprehension have declined since the introduction of classroom tech, in parallel with the dreaded Standardized Testing, and it’s a combination of bad pedagogical design, a lack of understanding of neurology and human behavior, overhyped fear, and corporate greed.
You can’t learn by passively absorbing information. But a glorified PowerPoint deck and pub quiz software is just a more expensive way to deliver that passive experience.
The "Declare Your Favorite Pokemon" website has been updated so you can also pick your least favorite Pokemon
no...my little guys 😩

just because someone can articulate their point better doesn’t make them right, it makes them articulated.
and you aren’t stupid for having trouble articulating yourself.
OH GOD WHAT. 5 YEARS??????
I love when people ask "how did you learn this skill?" I just started, there's no secret. that's it. a vast majority of the time the only thing holding you back is your trepidation to start.
