White elephant exchange with my book club and folktale inspired stories around the tree
My boyfriend heard me talk about a new Shakespeare Globe Theatre up north several months ago, back when it opened. From that alone, he decided to get me tickets to The Comedy of Errors as part of my Christmas present (âIt was that or one of a logo with a knifeâ).
Little did he know, that at the start of December, Iâd pick up If We Were Villians again, in need of a comfort read. I started talking to him about Shakespeare (he got paranoid that somehow I knew what he got me). Unbeknownst to him, the weekend before Christmas, inspired by IWWV, I picked up some Shakespeare books, I didnât even tell him about it⊠and started reading a The Comedy Of Errors for the first time.
You can imagine my utter bewilderment when I saw the tickets, total confusion đ€Ł When he didnât understand the weirdness, I went to my book stack and showed him the copy, fresh bookmark in place.
Please allow me to show you how fucking incredibly my boyfriend did with my Christmas presents!!!! (Other present in another post) Holy fuck!!!!
If you follow me, you might have seen me lusting over Folio Society special edition books a couple weeks back. My boyfriend does not know my tumblr. I did not tell him about that store. He knew I liked Philip K Dick, found out that UBIK was a popular book of his and bought this incredibly beautiful copy, with 0 idea that I had seen it and lusted after it before. When I opened it, I was so bewildered that I was like, how did you know???? Do you know my tumblr?? Can you read my mind???? Or see my search history đ€Ł
Itâs gorgeous, Iâve only just started reading it, so please no spoilers! If you have a book fan in your life and cash to spare, highly recommend getting them a folio society book! I canât stop looking at it!!!!
Went to a bookstore for the first time in 10000000 years and saw so many books! Unfortunately ended up buying only one (The Atlas Six) which I saw advertised here on tumblr. So excited to read something other than my school readings amsfkgkdkeks (cries in prospective english major)

For real, get a library card for your local public library and you will have almost unlimited access to all kinds of media for free. Libraries also often have many different kinds of classes you can take, often for free or very cheap. Oh, and donât forget the computers and internet access you can also use for free.
