Oh is that so?” He laughed softly and moved to stand beside her as they got closer to and he slid his hand into hers. “Extra nuggets it is.” When they got to the front, they placed their order and paid before he led them over to the side to wait, tapping his fingers against his drink cup. “How much will you judge me if I make a mix of sodas?”

“And I love you very, very much.” It felt so good to be able to exchange the sentiment with Jason. While she’d initially been shy as to how she felt, Charlotte had come to realize that she had nothing to gain by sitting on her love for Jason and more to win by telling him what was going on inside of her heart. “I can’t believe we decided to even go outside to get food.” Unfortunately, Uber eats seemed to be down, so walking to the nearest McDonalds had been their only option. “You can admit it --you want the extra fries. I’ll share them with you if you get extra ranch.” Charlotte twined her fingers with Jason’s, though she leaned her head against his arm as they continued to wait in line. Thankfully, she didn’t have rehearsal for the next few days, so she could relax. Her exhaustion was getting to her. Once everything was paid for, Charlotte continued to keep a firm hold on her boyfriend’s hand as they waited by the soda machine. “I wouldn’t judge you at all. In fact, I’d love you even more.”

His arms were wrapped around her waist as he kissed the top of her head, stepping a little bit forward with her as he glanced up a the menu. “I also love that we’re going back to your couch after this, this whole rain and wind and impending nor'easter thing is so not the vibe. Also can we get extra fries? I heard Lola mention extra fries.”

“No. Say it again.” Even in her warm coat, Charlotte leaned back against Jason’s chest in order to generate some warmth. Since admitting her feelings to him, they’d both been incredibly touchy and practically joined at the hip, although Charlotte wasn’t complaining. They didn’t call it cuffing season for nothing. She craned her head upwards to look at him with a goofy smile on her lips. “It’s so yucky out,” she mused. “We should light a fire. I never use my fireplace. --Lola can’t eat fries; are you sure it was her who requested it? She did ask for extra nuggets, though.”
