hey uhhh head full of thoughts on the burden of muse-dom, and how male artists are unquestioningly granted the right to tell the stories of their encounters and relationships with women while the women who inspired them remain voiceless. thinking about how if one such muse speaks out, the male artists’ female fanbases - rather than empathising with her, and the trauma that can spring from watching your very personal experiences laid bare in the name of art - tend to react bitterly, as if the subject of their fave’s desire ought to feel nothing but gratitude that he deigned to exert his brain cells thinking about her.
