Chapter 6 : The Beautiful Ordinary
As the house settles into the quiet rhythm of evening, Charli slips into her home office and gently closes the door behind her. For the first time all day, the laughter has softened, the little footsteps have faded, and the demands of motherhood have given way to a rare moment of stillness. She pauses, allowing herself to simply breathe and savor the peaceful silence that fills the room.
Slowly, she opens her eyes and rests her fingertips on the keyboard. She takes one long, steady breath in... then lets it out with a quiet smile.
And she begins to write...
After everything our family has endured over the past few years, life has finally settled into something that feels... wonderfully ordinary. Not boring. Never boring. Just full.
The Montgomery household has somehow become a place where every season brings another milestone. One child is preparing for university, another is making plans for the future. The twins are learning multiplication tables and wiggling loose tooth to put under their pillow. Someone always needs a ride somewhere, endless laundry piles but that will never out number the hugs shared between teach other. AND of course, Bubbles is still convinced he's everyone's favorite family member.
Montgomery is officially in his final university term, and I couldn't be more proud of him. He's maintained an A+ average while pursuing a Biology degree with dreams of becoming a veterinarian. Watching him grow up and chase a career he's truly passionate about has made the family proud.
His sophomore year Montgomery moved into Pepper's Pub, newly renovated by his big sister Dallas. As for Bubbles, he finally joined Montgomery at university after Charlie and Cliff lovingly reminded their son that his dog was, in fact, his responsibility.
His college years also brought something completely unexpected—Donna. The two had been inseparable friends since elementary school. Through school projects, football games, and high school parties, they had always been just that—friends. But the summer before freshman year, Donna returned from Ciudad Enamorada after spending time with her grandparents and reconnecting with her Latina heritage.
Somewhere between saying goodbye in the spring and welcoming her home that summer, Montgomery realized he wasn't looking at his best friend anymore. He was looking at the woman he wanted to spend the rest of his life with. ❤️
The two have become absolutely inseparable. Although they're eager to begin the next chapter of their lives together, they're choosing to wait until after graduation and Montgomery completes his residency at Willow Creek Animal Hospital. Once he opens his own veterinary clinic, wedding bells will finally be in their future. But if you ask anyone in the family, they're already soulmates.
Meanwhile, Macey has somehow grown into one of the most beautiful teenagers I've ever seen in this save. She's now a senior at Copperdale High School with dreams of becoming either a model or an actress. She's beginning to test her independence, spending time with friends, dating, and making memories she'll carry long after graduation.
She even enjoys visiting Montgomery on campus, because what high school senior wouldn't want an excuse to experience college life a little early?
Macey: "Hey, Monty! I'm dying over here. I'm so bored. Mind if I come hang out for a while?"
Montgomery: "Of course. You never have to ask, Little Sis. Come on over."
Macey: "Perfect! Be there in ten."
Montgomery: "Sounds good... but one condition."
Montgomery: "You'd better be home before curfew. Mom and Dad aren't getting onto me because you lost track of time." 😂
Macey: "Excuse me... when have I ever done that?"
Montgomery: "...Last Thursday."
Macey: "Okay... fair point. See you soon!" ❤️
Macey and Cliff went shopping for a car. Of course Macey picked out a BMW. "Nice try, sweetheart." Instead, Cliff found her the cutest 2026 Mazda 6e, hiding Jazz's garage, waiting to be gifted on graduation day.
Until then, she's borrowing Mom's car whenever she heads off to drama club or spends time with friends. Or calling her big brother to pick her up.
Meanwhile, Madden is getting ready to begin high school himself. Most kids are inspired by astronauts, inventors, or famous scientists. Madden? His inspiration came after watching his mom get abducted by aliens. Ever since that unforgettable night, he's been captivated by science, space, and the endless mysteries of the universe.
Naturally curious and incredibly intelligent, Madden has become the family's resident scientist, constantly reading, experimenting, and asking questions that no one else even thinks to ask. Charli may wish she'd never been beamed into the sky, but if it sparked her son's passion for discovery… maybe it wasn't such a bad adventure after all.
The twins, Marcus and Melanie are thriving as they prepare for the next stage of school, it's amazing how quickly these little ones have grown.
If Macey is the kind of girl who turns heads the moment she walks into a room, Melanie is the kind who makes people feel comfortable the moment she starts talking. Beautiful in her own quiet way, she's effortlessly down-to-earth with a gentle spirit that naturally draws people in. She's the friend who remembers birthdays, cheers the loudest for everyone else's successes, and somehow manages to make every person she meets feel seen. A true girl's girl, Melanie shines brightest not because she wants the spotlight, but because she loves helping others shine alongside her.
Then there's Marcus… the definition of "all boy." If there's a tree to climb, a ball to throw, a puddle to splash through, or a frog to sneak into one of his sisters' shoes, he's probably already doing it. Ever since he graduated from his little red race car toddler bed, he's been full speed ahead. Covered in grass stains, collecting skinned knees like trophies, and constantly looking for his next adventure, Marcus brings an endless supply of energy to the Montgomery household. Underneath all that rough-and-tumble spirit, though, is a big heart that's fiercely loyal to his family.
Fast forward...IT'S GRADUATION DAY!!!
Surrounded by family, friends, and more than a few proud tears, Montgomery graduated with honors, earning his distinguished degree in Biology. The celebration continued with a reception full of laughter, hugs, and cherished memories, while Bubblegum happily accepted congratulations as if he had earned the diploma himself. It was a day the Montgomery family would never forget—and the perfect beginning to Montgomery's next adventure.
As for this beautiful couple...
Charli has also been quietly working toward completing her Bestselling Author aspiration. Her books continue bringing in royalties, but with five children, writing time has become harder and harder to find. She's completed nearly every milestone and has already written one bestseller. She only needs two more to accomplish a dream she's been chasing for years.
Cliff continues to excel in politics, now serving as a councilman. Between his career and Charli's successful writing career, the family has become financially comfortable, allowing them to focus less on simply making ends meet and more on enjoying the life they've built together. Just when they thought they had settled into a new rhythm, life had one more surprise in store.
Charli discovered she was pregnant again—a blessing they certainly hadn't planned but wholeheartedly welcomed. If that wasn't enough excitement, a few months later the Montgomery-Chorus family received another joyful surprise when they welcomed not one baby, but two beautiful twin girls. Healthy, precious, and instantly cherished, the newest additions were welcomed with overflowing love by a family that somehow always manages to find room for one more or in this case, two more chairs around the dinner table.❤️
Meet Christina and Mollie Chorus! Cuteness must be a dominant gene in both Charli and Cliff because these two are absolutely precious. These fraternal twins share far more similarities than differences—and it's already clear they're already capturing the hearts of everyone around them.❤️
As for the Chorus Siblings and extended family, life has continued moving forward after Gilberto, Harmonie, and Melody's heartbreaking passing. Her children made the difficult decision to sell the family home in Oasis Springs, and the inheritance she left behind helped each of them begin building lives of their own.
Cliff encouraged the siblings to save much of the money for their futures, while using some to help establish themselves.
Dallas has remained exactly who she's always been—the dependable big sister whose door (and heart) are always open.
Sebastian has now graduated from university and welcomed his younger brother, Neil, into his home, giving him stability while keeping the family together.
Aria has settled into her own apartment, while Jazz and Angel are still happily engaged and beginning to plan the wedding we've all been waiting for.
Even through unimaginable loss, the Chorus siblings continue to prove that family isn't defined by the house you live in. It's defined by the people who refuse to let you face life alone. Sometimes legacy isn't built during the extraordinary moments.
Sometimes it's built during homework at the kitchen table... late-night conversations... graduation plans... surprise pregnancies... and ordinary Tuesdays that slowly become the memories you'll treasure forever.
And right now... The Montgomery-Chorus Family is flourishing.
