You don’t like to shop online.

So, instead we go look at stuff in stores.

But really, we only go to one store.

You look at one thing, and then we leave.

We stop by the art museum on the way home.

And check out that new bar on the corner.

Then end up in some odd, but homey cafe.

And somehow a rooftop gelato bar.

We find a fortune cookie on the ground.

Go for a walk on a trail.

Bike around a park until we meet up with friends.

And we share two entrees because we couldn’t choose.

Then we go home.

And it’s really pretty great.

I think I like shopping.

Oh, how you stole my

light

my love.

You spark it

just to watch

it flicker

and

fail.

You suck

all my oxygen,

and tell me to

burn

brighter,

try

harder.

Our darkness

was all because of

me.

And we learned

Abandoned

Maybe my mom will love me more

if I just die and she gets my life insurance,

she only talks to me when she asking for money.

Maybe my work will realize what I do

when they’re writing a job description

to fill the tasks I vacated.

Maybe my partner will see how much

dust gathers when he’s gone and I’m not around

to clean every few weeks.

Maybe my cat will miss me,

is that enough to stick around?

I will never forget

I was falling apart,

trying in my way

to be free.

Then you walked into the room,

not a moment too soon,

c’était au printemps,

it was the night we met.

You said you loved me,

you didn’t really care

if I didn’t understand.

But I dreamed of you

before I saw you.

Nous on a craqué l'allumette.

So touch me with your naked hand,

your aching hands,

run them down my spine.

Let the heart just beat.

I don’t want to sleep.

Shall I stay?

You are.

Here on earth where everything is cruel,

I made a mistake,

one I cannot repair.

I will use the rest of my lipstick

to write it down,
