Lindsey chuckled hearing the words from the woman, she meant what she said, no woman needed to be objectified when she had pure talent. She didn’t want to say too much more, because she didn’t want to risk her job, but she wouldn’t have felt right if she said nothing at all. She waited till they ended the meeting, and she got up to gather her things. She looked at the woman, “I might get fired for what I said, but I meant it, and I wish you all the success.”

“Oh no, if you get fired then I quit. I perhaps didn’t want to say it in front of them but I really wanted someone to put in a second opinion, and I’m glad it was from another female.” She grinned. “

Xavier was sitting in the meeting, he had been asked to take photos of the singer and other band members and he was there figuring out the details. He listened to her concerns and nodded his head.

“I can honestly give the same result no matter what she is wearing. I know you guys think it’s going to sell and I’m just the photographer but I guarantee I can take picture that will sell even if she was wearing a parka.”

Charlotte couldn’t help but laugh at the boy’s comment. “Oh please. I think the photographer should have a say in this, you’re still important sweetie. Don’t let them think you’re not. Plus, I’d rock a parka.” She teased at the last part.

Lindsey was so tired of these creative meetings where they tried to discuss everything before letting it happen. She could understand the woman’s frustrations, because she wanted to be known for her talents, not her sexuality. 

“If I may, I know I am just the makeup artist, but are you looking at this woman, she is gorgeous, so there is not a lot you can do to make her even more gorgeous. She is what we call a natural beauty. And I know you didn’t want to sign her because how she looks, she has talent, so why not let that shine through. We will make her look amazing, without her being sleazy.”

Charlotte’s ears perked up while hearing this other woman’s confidence to stand in for someone she had only met at the makeup table. “Right on, girl. Woman power!” She smiled. “Now you have heard two women speak their mind, I’d choose your next answer carefully. Because we stick together.” She spoke back to the producer.

Charlotte caught herself in about a million record label meetings, all of them were about the same thing. 

“Look, we’re not doing a whole sexualizing the lead singer thing, okay? I want to feel comfortable with what I wear and if that’s a long shirt and some converse shoes, that’s how it’s gonna be. If you don’t like that, I’m more than willing to get up and leave.”

“Oh no, I still get judged, It’s in people’s nature to get judged. But I just don’t care” She laughed happily.

“Yeah I’ve been acting since I was little,” he chuckled. “Don’t be sorry. I get it. There are so many times I want to give someone a snarky remark but I don’t have the courage to do it. I’m impressed actually.”

“Sometimes it’s just easier.” The girl smiled. “I find it somewhat interesting in making snarky remarks. The ones like you who are impressed are far more entertaining than the ones who roll their eyes or cower away.”

Nathaniel chuckled, “it’s all good. I’m used to jokes like that. I’m an actor.” He took her hand and shook it with a smile. “I’m Nathaniel. It’s very nice to meet you.”

“You’re an actor. No wonder you looked so familiar. I just couldn’t put my mind as to where.” She smiled back. “And I’m so sorry about my snarky remark. It’s kind of a defence thing.”

“People can be stupid sometimes,” he offered her a smile as he said it. “I actually think that black looks really nice on you. Maybe people are just jealous that you look better than them.”

“Well I wouldn’t be surprised, I am a model after all.” She teased. “Sorry, bad joke.” The girl smiled and held her hand out. “I’m Avery.”
