I wanna be a bad bitch but instead I’m just a sad bitch
DAWSON.
For a second there, Dawson felt embarrassed as Charlotte took his breath away, but that’s exactly what she did. “Let’s just say, whoever your date is, is one lucky man,” he said with more of a smile, feeling off edge when he was around her. Chuckling to her tug on his suit jacket, he reached out to play with one of the many tassels on her dress by her side. “There are so many of these,” he said with another chuckle before resting his hand back on his leg and he found himself nodding to her words. “Actually, I could say the same thing.” That, and he hated how Syndicates and LVPD officers were crawling around. “I’d much rather be at a quieter bar or the gun range,” he smirked. “Though, while we’re both here, maybe we could dance later.”
.
"I'll have to let Kiaan know, and I can assure you, he'll be delighted by the compliment." Laughing softly, the woman allowed her eyes to shift in a mock of an eye roll. "Notices are his favorite thing to hear this evening." She explains, meeting Dawson's gaze for a moment. "A gun range? You know, I never saw that one coming." Winking, she allowed her tone to be colored by transparent teasing before she dropped her gaze to the floor where many couples were already lingering. "I might just have to hold you to that, so don't be surprised if I come looking for you later."
KIAAN.
“It’s worth the ruin, I assure you. This was an excellent year.” Kiaan insisted before simply draining his glass, obviously not taking the time to enjoy the flavor that he had just hyped up. His smile was playful as he made a sound of appreciation before passing the empty glass on a passing worker of the event. “You can’t deny me, date or not. It’s a talent of mine, really.” He told her, one hand gesturing a bit dramatically until her question had him sobering slightly. He eyed her for a moment, as if trying to feel out her intentions, before turning on the dramatics once more. It was a sigh and a pretty eye roll that he preformed now before speaking. “Everyone, dear heart. There is not a soul in this room whose eyes won’t linger for at least a moment on you and I alike. One of the woes us beauties must bare.”
.
Pressing her lips upward, Charlotte offered her friend a smile, though she knew it didn't reach her eyes completely. It was easy to get lost in the mystical sentiments of Kiaan, though when her head was this busy already, sometimes she found herself lingering in the shadows. "A talent? Perhaps we should all be as bold as you, Ki." Rolling her eyes, the woman brought her glass to her lips, taking a lengthy sip. "You're a man who makes me think, I will give you that much, and your beauty, well it is undeniable." Reaching out, she squeezed his arm before straightening up. "Would you hate me if I left for a moment? I thought I might sneak around to a few familiar faces."
CAMILLE.
Camille laughed at Charlotte’s words, her head nodding as she tilted her head down to look at the glass between her hands. As her gaze drifted around the room, the woman thought about all her encounters throughout the night and she had to wonder where it all came from and what was going to happen after tonight. “Open bars are everyone’s weakness but don’t drink too much or else all your secrets will be spilled,” it was why the raven-haired woman was carefully taking sips of the drink in front of her. “No… You just described my ideal night,”
.
Weakness or gateway drug, it only mattered how one looked at it. Not that Charlotte would ever add that, instead, she merely smiled once more. As if she could contain the many rumbling thoughts within her own mind from being exposed in the presence of the other. "Secrets? Perhaps one might need some before they feel like losing some." Chuckling softly, she ran her index finger along the rim of the glass. "I love people watching, but at the end of the day, I think I prefer my apartment and the lack of excitement I find there." Only a slight lie, but it was better to allow her friend to believe such things than ever know the truth. "You ought to go find Marshall, he's left you alone for far too long."

There weren’t all that many people in Dev’s life that he allowed to see him when he fell apart. His struggle with controlling his anger was an ongoing battle and usually he would get angry, lose his temper and then disappear so that no one would see the softer aftermath. The part of him that felt guilt and needed a calming presence. But Charlotte was someone who didn’t run away from his chaos but had been there in the moment he’d needed a friend. She saw his lowest points and accepted him anyway. It was the kind of relationship he’d been seeking so desperately when he came into the scarlet dahlia’s. A smarter man would have brought her as his date tonight, and a smarter man seemed to, but Dev came alone and simply borrowed her from whoever’s attention she was currently capturing as he handed her a drink and walked her away from the conversation she’d been in. “Can’t believe I had to come drag you away from conversation. Aren’t you supposed to seek me out at these kind of events? Look how cute I am in my suit?” Devrim joked, looking down at his attire.
If there was anything Charlotte understood without the shadow of a doubt, it was the succumbing sense of chaos. An alluring pull that ultimately, threatened to take all who lingered near enough under. Though her own self control had been rather in place as of late, not all were as luck, and a familiar face could easily remind her of that. “Dev, now don’t you look lovely.” A teasing tone coated her words, as she smiled at her friend. “And half the fun is watching you wait, it keeps me feeling needed.” Wrinkling her nose up, she winked at the male before accepting the drink, fingers closing in around the glass. “Anyways, maybe a little fun could do you good. There are plenty of pretty faces here after all.”

CAMILLE.
Camille chuckled. “Guess I’m pretty lucky there,” she lifted her eyes up towards her. “Carry me out of here?” She couldn’t help but smirk, shaking her head a little. “I doubt it but I appreciate the words.” She turned her head to look over at the woman, brushing her tongue along her lower lip as she nodded her head. “Yeah, actually… It’s fairly easy.”
//
“Open bars always seem to be a weakness for me.” Chuckling softly, Charlotte swirled the amber colored liquid around in the glass. “Then again, part of me wishes I was at home on the couch. I probably sound like such a bore.”
CAMERON.
“It’s a pleasure to meet you, Charlotte,” As high amuse, intrigue, and curiosity was playing against his features, Cameron let his manners be the first to come into play. He wouldn’t be a true gentleman without them doing so. His hand falling back to his side, a chuckle escaped his lips as appreciation settled as his expression. “In my eyes, you’ve become the most intriguing woman in this building, so it looks like we’ve both got things going for us.” Keeping his eyes on her, he let them fall to take in the stunning red gown she presented. Hoping she wouldn’t mind, his eyes locked back to her own when the question hit his ears. “I do, but not well as something gets in the way.” Without explanation, he exposed a small part of his prosthetic leg. He wouldn’t have done so with anyone this quickly after meeting, but a trained nurse could understand what he was going through, even if it was a small part. “If you don’t mind a slightly wobbly partner, I’d be honored to take you for a spin out there.”
//
“Ah, so we’re even.” There were plenty of other things should be doing, rather than being charmed by a stranger. Yet, the woman couldn’t but smile in return. It seemed whoever this man was, had caught her attention with an ease she had personally forgotten. “What do you mean,” Though before she could probably finish her comment, the male was carefully lifting fabric and her lips were forming a perfect ‘o’. Now it suddenly made sense, and she nodded her head before meeting his gaze once more. “Perhaps this just gives me an excuse to lead?” A slight grin teased her features then, as she moved to stand, offering Cameron her hand. “And personally, I feel as if I have two left feet, so it seems we’re in for a real treat.” Wiggling her fingers, she waited to see if the male would join her.
MARCO.
“Neither.” He shook his head, rolling the glass on its edge. Maybe it wasn’t entirely true but for the most part, the reasons to why he was there weren’t listed but he only gave her the one that felt obvious enough. “A beautiful woman wanted some company and who am I to deny her a good night.” He glanced over his shoulder in the direction he had seen Emma last, having told her to find him there once she was done mingling since he hadn’t caught sight of anyone that he cared enough about to give his attention to just yet. “Try it out for yourself.” He slid the glass down towards her way. “S’long as you’re not a lightweight, you should be fine.” Though the burning sensation wouldn’t be so pleasant but he was already expecting her to slide it back to him without so much as a sip.
//
“A gentlemen then,” Nodding her head briefly, Charlotte returned her gaze to the bottles lining the shelves. It seemed most were enjoying their night, settled into pairs that would brew the fond sentiment of companionship. Even if it were only for an evening, it was perhaps nice to not feel so alone in this city. “--I’m sure your date values that.” Watching as the glass was slid, slim fingers moved to enclose the glass, lifting it as she gave it a brief swirl. “I should know better than to take a drink from a stranger,” Bringing the glass to her lips, she took a lengthly sip. “Yet here I am.” The bitter taste of liquor burnt her throat as she exhaled, purposely moving her own glass of rum towards the male. “Bottoms up, yeah?”
DAWSON.
Dawson had been keeping his eyes on Remi, smirking to himself about his plan for manipulating her. It was when his gaze rested on the brunette beauty in red approaching him. Usually, the lead enforcer would have something witty to say but Charlotte tonight…man, she took his breath away. “You…uh…” Fuck, he sounded like an idiot. “You look incredible, Charlotte,” he complimented with more of a smile, finding it easier to be genuine with the people that he enjoyed being around. Raising his hand up to get the bartenders attention, he slowly pulled his gaze from her to order their drinks. “Another glass of whiskey for me and whatever she wants,” he said before turning his attention back on her and clearing his throat a bit. “How’s your night going so far?”
//
A single manicured brow rose in response, a smirk daring to toy on her features. “Cat got your tongue?” The woman asks, unable to keep the teasing tone from coloring her voice. “Thank you, and well you, well you don’t clean up half bad either.” Reaching out, she gave the hem of his suit jacket a gentle tug. It seemed everyone had done their best to look ready for tonight, and most made it look easy. “Rum, please.” Smiling at the bartender politely, she moved her gaze back towards the male before pursing her lips. “It’s going, I can without a doubt say that.” The woman was on edge, and there were too many unfamiliar faces here. “I guess I’m just not the party type, what about yourself?”
@dawson-woods
With a drink in hand, Charlotte approached the male, a knowing look held in her gaze. “You clean up well, Woods.” Pursing her lips, she moved to lean against the bar. “Then again, I’m really not all that surprised.” It seemed everyone had done their best in dressing to the nines tonight, and Charlotte couldn’t help but note it. Even if she was undercover, she had to admit, most seemed to have style. “Buy a girl a drink?”
KIAAN.
“Two birds with one stone, sweetheart.” Kiaan replied without missing a beat, moving down a few stools to be nearer to his date once he realized they had ended up in the same place after parting to mingle. “Who drinks for just the one?” He asked incredulously, banishing the thought with a wave of a ring-clad hand before looking to his drink and then to the bartender hovering nearby. “Another one of these, would you please? And two glasses of champagne, we are drowning woes and celebrating all in one. We need the gambit.” He insisted of the man.
//
“You’re going to ruin me before we’re even mid-way through the event.” Shaking her head, Charlotte laughed quietly as her gaze wandered around the party. So many familiar faces, and yet still some she didn’t know. It made her a bit anxious, and silently she hoped Ryan was fairing better wherever he might have ended up. “If my date insists, who am I to deny?” Grinning, she reached out and squeezed his arm gently before nodding towards the bartender. “So tell me, dearest Kiaan, who are you catching the eye of tonight?”
REMI.
“Something like that,” she said with a wink. She was also working but she wasn’t so incline on giving that bit of information. “I’d be inclined to agree with you. Lonely in a sea of people,” she chimed as she flicked her gaze around. “Is that how you feel?” It wasn’t any skin off her back what kind of emotions the other felt but Remi was curious to know. “Rum, good choice.” She nodded her head as she folded her arms over her chest. “My night has been going swimmingly. There’s a lot to observe here. I’ve noted a few sugar babies with wide eyes, a few dress malfunctions, some dry humping. I’d say we’re off to a good start.”
//
“Exactly,” Exhaling, Charlotte pressed her lips together for a moment in thought. Maybe there was something to be said for those who could get lost in a crowded party, stuck between being seen and becoming completely invisible. “--maybe just a bit, I guess parties have never been much my thing.” Instead the woman preferred to be outdoors, and more in control of a situation. Parties could just be so unexpected, leaving them all linger between the lines of drinking too much to loosen up, and over doing it. “At least you know how to lighten the mood, you come here with anyone tonight?”
CAMILLE.
Camille chuckled as she put her hands out on the table. “Is it possible to say both?” She tilted her head at the woman in front of her as she waited for the waiter to walk by with the glasses of champagne. She reached out and picked on up off the tray as she glanced back towards her. “I’ll stick with champagne, the last thing I want to be trash company,” she kept her eyes on the woman in front of her. “How about you? Are you here to drink your troubles away or here to celebrate… and what are you drinking?”
//
“I mean, you know me, I’d never refuse you.” Offering her friend a grin, she shifted her weight to face the brunette more easily. “And you, trash company? Impossible, granted Ryan would be more than willing to carry you out of here.” Smiling, she leaned an elbow against the counter for a moment in thought. “Rum, and more so just passing the time. I guess it’s true what they say, large parties tend to be rather intimate.” Pause. “Ever been alone in a crowded room?”
