couldn't resist making a meme, because the funniest fact for me is David Hasselhoff, who starred as an artificial intelligence cameo named "Hoff9000" inside a red Lamborghini Countach in a weird parody short film Kung Fury (2015)
Hi, you give me brainworms in the best possible way and I would like to share them with you! I think it would be an interesting dynamic to have the car 1977 with a monster hunter reader since the car is heavily implied to be supernatural.
The Car 1977 x Monster Hunter!Reader:
🩶 You've dealt with many creatures in your time. Ranging from biblical terrors to folklore foes hiding here, there, and everywhere. No matter the size nor the strength, you've dealt with them all.
You have enough experience and knowledge that you're quite the formidable hunter, even having a little notebook in which you have recorded all your encounters, like an encyclopedia.
There's just one more page to fill before you need to start a new book.
And you know exactly what's going to finish this book of monsters: a demonic Car that you heard was terrorising a small, quaint town.
~
🩶 Your cunning and knowledge of the supernatural were enough to trick the demonic Car. You lured it out in the evening and made it chase you across town, all the way into a carefully laid trap.
Since the Car was not paying attention to its surroundings, it drove over your silver spike strip and punctured all its tyres. Rendering it immobile.
All you had to do now was rip open the hood with your silver knife and pour holy water into its engine, which would melt the 'heart' of the Car like acid, and it would permanently be no more.
But, as you look at it. You decide to use this state of vulnerability for examination. The Car, since it had been exposed to a great amount of silver, would be out for days, so it wouldn't hurt to take a closer look. Know thy enemy, right?
~
🩶 Standing right before the demon, you reach out and brush your hand along its door, that you discover has no handle.
You are not surprised; demonic vehicles sometimes lacked the proper parts of human-made cars. That's one way you identified if a car was of this world or not.
Another telltale sign was the feel. The Car, it feels like old bones and velvet, a texture a human couldn't recreate.
Just in time, you step back as its door flings open to try and hit you.
Unbothered, you walk around to the front of the Car. You touch its bumper than shines like its bane but suddenly recoil. It's as hot as the flames of the Car's home, Hell. You presume it's because of the pure evil it generates to run on.
You look to its windows, and they're as black as the night. You can't see in, and doubt there would be anything to see inside.
You look down at its tyres; they seem ordinary. Upon giving them a touch, you note they feel... Scaly, almost. Like a snake.
Truly, the Car is unique. If you weren't so accustomed to demons and other things that go bump in the night, you would've died of fright.
You whip out your little encyclopedia from your pocket and begin sketching the Car. You would've liked to have taken a photo on your phone, but supernatural beings sometimes have a tendency to not appear in photos. So, you rely on good old-fashioned pencil and paper.
When the sketch is done, and there is no more to be written about it. Now, you can finally kill it.
~
🩶 You draw your blessed knife and give one last look at the Car. Suddenly, its headlights turn on, and you feel them drilling into you like eyes. The Car knows what you're going to do, knows it's helpless. It revs a little, and then? It honks, calling out 'X' in Morse code, or so people had said that the repetition honks were translated to.
It seems it is trying to deafen you; it's not working. You have small bell earrings that repeal unholy sounds and their effects. The Car has no hope against you, you who are prepared for everything.
At its hood, you raise the knife, then you stop. It seems a shame to kill something so beautiful. Of all the monsters you've faced, the Car is the most interesting and beautiful in all its simplicity.
Lowering the knife, which would cut through its hood like butter, you hear the sound of something hissing.... Its tyres, much to your horror, are reinflating... You misjudged the effect of silver on the Car, and now you are the one at its mercy.
~
🩶The Car's engine roars, and you're sure it's the end. However, as much as you study it, it studies you. Readying your knife, you prepare to take it down. But the Car makes no indication of attacking. It's still observing you with great interest.
Backing off, your grip still on your knife, you listen as the engine quietens down to a purr. Then, it inches forward slowly. You don't flinch; you know what you have to do-- jump onto the hood, slice through it, and pour holy water into the engine.
Closer it comes, closer. Closer.
The Car comes to a sudden stop before you.
For some reason, you feel as if it's smirking to itself. As if it's impressed by you.
And you're correct. It is impressed by you. You're the first human to ever confront it like this, without fear and with knowledge. It finds you fascinating and a human worthy of living. If there's anything demons hate, it's cowards. But you, legendary hunter, are not.
It wants you to fascinate it more.
~
🩶 The Car follows you around from a distance, watching you dispatch other creatures across the world. It likes how you fight; the spirit and fire you possess mesmerizes it.
Sometimes, knowing it's watching, you show off for it in battles. Only to humor it, nothing more.
~
🩶The next thing you know, you're getting in close proximity to it and are letting your guard down. The Car just wants to watch you, and you, lonely hunter, are grateful for the company.
~
🩶 Occasionally you read to the Car. Leaning against it you read your encyclopedia aloud, subtly reminding it what you've dealt with and that you can easily deal with the Car too.
At those you read aloud that the Car finds pitiful, you swear you hear its engine grumbling like it's laughing to itself. You find yourself laughing sometimes too, and you don't like it. You shouldn't be warming up to this demon. But oh, you are.
~
🩶You've started giving it car washes now. It likes those, and you do too. It purrs in satisfaction as you wash, and you feel... You feel... At ease.
~
🩶Your fights against monsters are becoming shorter and easier. The Car has decided to become your partner in your unusual profession. Hearing you cry in pain really makes it kick into action.
~
🩶You've taken to petting it now. Either a quick pat on the trunk, rubbing the roof, stroking along the doors, or drumming your fingers across the hood. Sometimes it'll respond in turn to the touch with a pleased sound.
The Car pets you too. In its own way. Nudging you with its bumper or opening its door to brush you ever so gently.
~
🩶You try to remind yourself the Car may turn at any time because demons are tricksters like that. If it does, you'll kill it. Simple! Stab the knife in the Car's hood and pour holy water in. Done. It's dead. Gone. Destroyed. Easy.
Yet, the guts to do this are fading. You don't want to harm the Car. You're in love with it. And you know it's in love with you too.
~
🩶The Car helps you in seeking out your enemies, sometimes even going off by itself to remove these threats, so nothing can hurt you, its beloved. If you find these monsters together, it turns into a competition on who can slay the most.
You two become quite the legendary lover team and will go down in history.
I made the background from scratch in Autodesk Sketchbook, did the lettering in GIMP, finished it up in Procreate. Ended up using all 108 available layers. My canvas actually started lagging
