Why did this one stay in the drafts. I was right
Did people like how I did the Season 17 updates page where the names of each episode hyperlinked to a page that had all of the photos and information we had for the episode? Or was that kind of cumbersome? I'm open for suggestions in formatting Season 18's updates-by-episode page
See below the cut for Season 17 example if you didn't see it/need a refresher:
Interesting the listing for the premiere is only a half hour, which seems to confirm they will not be doing a double-episode premiere for Season 18 (a first for this tranche of Seasons)
How it feels seeing Mac with facial hair every time a new Season 18 BTS pic pops up
Kaitlin just posted a new pic from the Die Hard Ep (Mac and Dennis Tear their ACLs?)!
Any predictions on what neurodivergencies the gang has? You think it'll be official or self diagnosed?
Also, do you know yet who wrote the ep? I hope it was Charlie and Glenn. They seem like they'd be a fitting choice for the topic lmao *cut to Charlie joking about being autistic and Rob telling him he's bad with social cues, and Glenn talking about having adhd and rambling about his many eccentricities. I'm still mad we never got that podcast episode Rob teased.
I’m fairly confident The Gang Gets Tested is #1807, which means it was written by Charlie Day and Keyonna Taylor! (Of course, that’s just the script, there’s no doubt Glenn and Rob were involved in the writing process from start to finish, especially for their individual characters.)
The one thing that’s based on, however, is MacRob in a college classroom-looking setting taking a test, which doesn’t make much [any] sense if they were literally being diagnosed.
(I could theorise perhaps the neurodivergent episode isn’t The Gang Gets Tested, but I got so tripped up last year with believing the Dog Track title was a red herring for the dog jerking episode, lmfao, so I’m going straight forward with the assumptions this year and saying it’s a safe bet to believe Gets Tested is the right episode.)
So my initial off the dome idea for this episode was that perhaps everyone was being tested for something different, but now that we have the neurodivergent confirmation, I’m leaning heavily toward the idea that the Gang respond to a college study of some kind that’s focus group is neurodivergent adults.
This would explain why they filmed for almost an entire week on an actual college campus—the episode can’t just take place there for one day, so the college aspect has to be centered somehow—and also makes the most sense (imo) as to how they can have the Gang very clearly “embrace” being neurodivergent without having to make any hard establishments as to what they are (if they don’t want to).
So I think it will be a mix of official/self-diagnosed. I don’t think the Gang will go get officially diagnosed to respond to a college study, they’d just read (or hear) about it and go “oh shit that’s us!” and say they are (admit to being) neurodivergent to be involved (and probably get paid). I’d predict that they take the tests, go through whatever, but that the episode will end without ever revealing what diagnoses they have, as a joke on/meta about Rob’s announcement that never came to fruition
If you think about Dennis Reynolds for too long you'll feel the urge to rip your heart out through your throat
dennis's initial reaction to the corporate guy saying he's gay + mac and frank's shock gets overshadowed by the bears/twinks/power bottoms conversation that immediately follows but it is also So Much
This is kind of a random thing to speculate on but I remember when the first images of s 18 production came out, there was a lot of speculation about why all the clapper boards had images of confetti and why there was confetti pictured in photos from the first day of shooting.
Now that we're closing in on the start of the season, do you think we can safely assume the confetti was a tie-in with the parade? Because I remember people throwing around all sorts of potential ideas like birthday parties or New Years eve celebrations but nothing like that is really popping out from the logline.
I’m 99% confident the confetti is for the parade/funeral, yep, I really can’t see what else it would be for
"n as in nancy" "b as in boy" 🤔🤔
We finally have a release date for Season 18, and it came with a heap of fodder! What new information can we gather from it all (other than the premiere date... and location!)?
Check out my breakdown of the Season 18 logline on the Paddy's Pub Blog:
Always Sunny Season 18 drops a heap of new information on top of a surprising premiere date (and location?)!
The actress who played Cock Chewa in TGBL is in Glenn’s new movie!
ok ive seen like 20 people atp parrot that virtual insanity is the first episode of season 18. is that true?? do we have the airing order?
Nope. 2026: a Virtual Insanity is the first episode alphabetically, which is how the WGA orders episodes titles, but that seems to have gone over a lot of people’s heads, instead thinking the episodes are listed in airing order on there.
There’s no airing order (they haven’t even told us what the premiere episode will be or if it’ll be a double), but it seems like production order this year might be pretty aligned with airing order (similar to S16, unlike S17).
We know from WtW that 2026: a Virtual Insanity is #1804, so it’ll probably fall in the middle of the season somewhere, if not that exact spot. It’s pretty unlikely it will be the premiere episode (which imo is Frank Marries a Corpse, but nothing has been confirmed)

I was planning on September so I am speeding through on my rewatch faster than I intended now, but let me just say... Season 7, all of Frank's Pretty Woman. I mean, Charlie inserting himself into Frank's love life to make sure the woman he is with isn't only into it for the money... but the set up goes terribly wrong to result in Frank not having a wife at all... flash forward to Season 17 and Samantha is vehemently not in it for the money, but Charlie is still seething with rage the entire time about the set up... and we end up in Season 18, now, with the knowledge that someone is ending up dead...
Do you guys like this drunk shitpost I made
In case anyone is missing the reference… lol
