the brunette titled her head slightly as she heard the other apologize, and then she followed to shrug a bit, “ don’t worry about it. ” she assured her, “ it would’ve been worse if you had been talking to me and i didn’t pay any attention. ” celine added with a small smile. “ you alright ? ”

charlotte chuckled. “that would have been way worse,” she said. “i’m just overwhelmed is all,” she said, sifting through papers, looking for one particular note she had scribbled down. “i started a project and following through is harder than i thought.”

now that the vacations were over, celine was back in working mode and harder at it than ever. the petite brunette was a bit of a extremist, she either partied too hard or worked until literal exhaustation. so now she was humming under her breath as she wrote away on her notebook, scribbling around ideas for everything, her blog, her videos, even the news blogs that weren’t even her actual responsibility, her mind going on nonstop, so she didn’t even noticed charlotte already in the room when she walked in, her eyes focused on her notes. “ i’m sorry, what ? ” celine asked with a blink of her eyes once she heard the other.

charlotte looked up, recognizing celine sitting across from her. she was a blogger, and char wasn’t a stranger to the website she ran. “sorry,” she said, looking at celine, blushing a little as she realized she had spoken aloud. “i was just talking to myself, i guess. i didn’t realize i was talking out loud.”

charlotte exhaled as she sat in the common room at v entertainment. she had her laptop on the coffee table and multiple notebooks   s p r a w l e d   out along the couch beside her. the first podcast she posted was easy, but now she was trying to compile information from her trip, trying to decide what to talk about... it was all overwhelming, and it wasn’t even her working job. she sighed, letting herself collapse into the couch. “this was definitely not what i thought i was signing up for when i started blushing light...”

charlotte proves time and time again that she is exactly oliver’s kind of person; she’s one of very few that he finds is willing to put up with his wild ass self, and he digs her for that. he grins a mile wide as he scans the area, considering their options. “ you’re on my team, right? we’re both pretty strong. no, fuck strong. we’re winners. we can do this. i can definitely hold you up. pick someone you think you could take down. ”

there was always a moment of thrill with oliver. he was someone that she felt comfortable around. like around oliver she could actually be a good person and get somewhere in life. “uh, of course,” she giggled. “well, there’s no way i’m picking you up,” she joked. “we’re always going to be winners... now.... her,” charlotte said, pointing out one small girl. “i can knock her down.”

relief flows through him in invisible waves and he masks it with the grin that her wink produces, and then by laughing with her. when he settles, his smile does become softer – it’s one of gratitude. the look he gives her says more than he can. “ alright, alright. thanks. how are we gonna do this? ” he starts, moving so that he’s behind her now, standing a bit awkwardly – he does want to be covered, but how close is too close? it’s times like this he wishes he had a sense of boundaries. playing it cautious, he’s reluctant to get close enough to actually use her efficiently as a shield; the way he sees it, she’ll move closer if shes comfortable with that. this… somewhat does the job, right? right. “ how fast can you go with someone practically on your heels? maybe we should move in beats. like, one two, one two. ”

charlotte smiled at ollie. she was happy that she could do something that made her feel like she wasn’t a total bitch all the time. “come on,” she said, smiling, holding her hands out as if to create a train so that they wouldn’t drift too far apart. “i can go pretty fast.”

“ spain ? oh no, never. the furthest i’ve been from home was canada. ” celine said amused. “ and i lived in washington so it’s like super close. ”

“washington state?” she asked, narrowing her eyes. “i grew up in there.” she said, slightly shocked. “it was a small town, though, even for washington.”

celine smiled when she heard charlotte, nodding slightly at the other’s words. “ have you ever been outside of the states ? ” she wondered to make conversation.

“not outside of the usa... no... my parents ran their own business so trips were few and far between, and we never went far,” she said as she took a sip of her gin and tonic. “have you been here before?”

avery was grateful to be allowed to partake in this trip, of course they were, they just couldn’t deny how guilty they felt at not really … enjoying it. new places were scary. masses of people were uncomfortable. visiting new places with masses of people? they shudder. not wanting to potentially RUIN anything for anyone, they’d slunk from their room, opting for charlotte’s company, she wasn’t being loud and drawing attention to herself, at least not outrightly, avery could cope with that.

the smile they return is S I N C E R E, though uncertain, ‘ it is, very pretty. ’ avery stops. ‘ did you know there’s a car accident approximately every nineteen seconds in barcelona? ’ smooth, avery.

charlotte turned to look at avery. it was nice that they had invited everyone along, interns included. this was the kind of thing she never would have experienced in a million years if she hadn’t gotten a job at v. she chuckled at avery’s words. “not exactly the information i needed to know. i would, however, like to know the best club hopping route...” she chuckled.

long story short i got like... no sleep last night which means i gotta make up for the 8 hours i lost tonight somehow. i’m just about to hop off for about 20 minutes to do my nighttime routines n such but i will be back on and do my replies before i try and shut off for the night!
