Bobbin's smile became more relaxed when Brianna replied to her. She looked up at The Spine and mouthed, "Stay with me?" The tiny bot nearly jumped as she felt the jolt of wires connecting. She shook her head and said, "Mistah Tha Spine was tellin' me 'bout tha manor. It must be somethin', livin' and workin' here." She paused, noticing her hand had stopped the sewing motions. "Thank ya for fixin' that, Miss Brianna. Mah knee still doesn't work, unfortunately. Stopped hurtin', so that's good."
As his eyes met with Bobbin's he gave her a reassuring nod and mouthed, "I will."
Brianna fumbled about with several wires, eventually finding the model she desired. She then began to plug the tiny bot into the computer, in order to find the problem, single it out, and repair it. "You might feel a slight pinch." she said, before inserting the wire into Bobbin's neck. She watched the computer and various bouts of information filled the screen. Eventually, she found the issue, and resolved it in seconds by typing in a few small bits of code."No problem." she said, her kind smile warming her pale cheeks. "It's certainly been different." As she finished that sentence, she glanced over at Spine, who promptly turned away and cleared his throat, the metal on his cheeks heating with embarrassment.
"Let's fix that knee now." Brianna said as she inserted another wire into Bobbin's back.
She nodded. "I hate when life gets in the way of a good story. After a long time away from my books, sometimes I just sit down and read them aloud to myself." She turned pink. "Oh. I didn't mean to say... That's a secret, please promise not to tell anyone."
As she spoke, the Spine's head slowly began to nod up and down. He understood completely. Whenever he was on the road with his brothers he would often think about which book he'd like to be reading. Even if he did have a book, he would never have time to complete it. Life had kept him busy for many years.
When she mentioned reading out loud, his eyes flickered to her. "Out loud?" he questioned. He'd never done that before. "I-I won't." he stuttered, assuring her that he would not repeat this information. "It's nothing to be embarrassed about. In fact, I would like to try it."
[[I don't think Tumblr has been sending my message so...once more!]]
// This is the first one I've received so far. I hate it when Tumblr eats my messages. I've had that happen a few times.
// OOC: A small hiatus... *keep reading*
Because I'm going on vacation!
I'll be gone for a little over a week, but I will be back before July.
((Arrrrrrhgh! I'm a dumbins. Pretend she didn't say hello twice! By the way, can I just say I love seeing your name on my dash?))
// She didn't, from what I read. C:
Aww, thank you! I'm sorry I don't update as often. Really though, thank you! It means a lot. <3
Bobbin nearly snorted at The Spine's change of demeanor. Her brothers had often fallen for a girl and done the same. She sat up and nodded to the Walter Girl. "Hello, ma'am! Pleasure to meet ya. Ah'm Bobbin.Ah do think Mistah Tha Spine here enjoys yer company, too," She smirked a bit. She was programmed to act like a twelve year old, after all. "Ah'd curtsy, but mah knee went out. Mah apologies. Err, Ah should probably turn. All of mah prgrammin' is in mah back. Ah like yer goggles, by tha way."
Spine’s eyes widened at Bobbin’s words. Was he that obvious? Brianna giggled, having already known the Spine’s feelings for her. She had been aware of this for quite some time, but had yet to respond. Today, she did the same, walking past the automaton and towards the small Bobbin. She winked as she knelt beside her, showing the little bot that she understood. “No worries, little one.” she replied with a smile. “Let’s get you all fixed up.” She waited for the small bot to turn around before opening her back and going to work. “Thank you!” she replied happily to the little bot’s compliment. The Spine wasn’t certain if he should leave or stay put, so he simply turned his back, frustratingly scratching his head in thought, going over his actions. Was I really that obvious, he thought?
She blushed further. "You don't have to say that if you don't mean it. Sometimes I talk too much, or too loudly, and I don't know when to stop myself." She traced her hand over the book's cover. "I just... I get so excited sometimes."
"No really!" he chuckled, a wide smile spreading across his face. "I find it endearing. I wish I had more time to appreciate a good book."

She sniffled. "Books aften are a bit dusty when they haven't been anywhere." She picked up a slim book with no title and brushed it free of dust. "This looks promising. No title means I have less to expect and more to discover." She blinked, then blushed. "I've been babbling, haven't I? Sorry!"
The automaton laughed awkwardly, feeling embarrassed. He was normally good about upkeep around the house, but he and his brothers had been so busy as of late that he had neglected his usual duties. "Ah, yea..." he replied, eyes trailing off to the side.
Once more he found himself in awe of his guest, her wonder regarding the various things around the manor causing great amusement and wonder in the Spine. "You're fine." he said. "I... enjoy hearing your thoughts."
Bobbin rolled over onto her stomach, eyes wide with wonder. She laughed a little. "Well, if ya were sleepin' for ninety-somethin' years and woke up in a house like one in a fairytale, wouldn't ya be curious, too?" She tried to muffle her laughter when The Spine tried to tell her about his brothers. "Ah had a feelin' ya were gonna say that." She sat up when she heard the door open and saw a young lady in a white dress with a blue and black bob enter. She waved shyly. "Hello, ma'am."
The tall bot tilted his head slightly, in thought, as he went over her words. "You make a good point." he replied, realizing how silly he had been. This little automaton had been offline for quite some time. Much has changed since her time. She was more than likely a tad overwhelmed by all of this new technology. The Spine had been able to witness it first hand, even having some of the technologies upgraded into his system.
He was happy, however, to see her smiling and laughing as a young child should. It didn't matter that she were robotic. She needed to enjoy herself as much as any child should. "They're... a confusing lot." he said with a chuckle.
His attention was then drawn to the door as Brianna came into the basement. "Ah, hello there." he said happily, pushing away from the metallic table. He then proceeded to act rather strangely, clearing his throat and trying to sound suave. "Ah, this little automaton here needs some repairs."
He glanced over to the tiny Bobbin, his smile fading as he realized how nervous she was. He went back over to her and smiled. "Don't be shy. Paige is very nice and very good at what she does. You won't feel a thing."

She stepped into the room and spun on her heel, looking at all the books. "Oh wow. Oh wow! There's so many! I don't think I've even heard of most of these!" She sneezed. "Excuse me."
He smiled softly as he watched her dance around the room. So much wonder and joy over books. He'd never met a person alive as enthusiastic about literature as she seemed to be. Sure, scientists, like Walter, were interested in books, but not just any book. He held back a small laugh when she sneezed, realizing that he had forgotten to warn her about the room's condition. "Gesundheit." he said. "It's a bit dusty in here."
Bobbin watched the steam disappear into the air, mesmerized. "Oh! Didn't notice. Thank ya kindly, sir. Who's tha human with tha bandanna and the mustache?" She held a finger along her upper lip like a mustache. "He looks like an engineer. He had a doll, too. Looked just like him. And it moved on its own, honest! If Ah were anywhere else, Ah'd question that, but from what Ah've seen of tha manor, Ah think that's relatively normal. What are tha other robots like? Like, their personalities."
Standing straight up, the automaton tipped his hat to little Bobbin. A sign that it was no trouble. Any time a person, or machine, needed help he would do his best to assist them.
He smiled widely at the little bot’s curiosity, a million questions pouring from her mouth. It was mostly her description of their sound engineer that amused him the most. “Haha, that’s Steve.” he answered. “And the doll is little Steve.” He had to remind himself that, even though Bobbin was an automaton, she had the mind of a child. Moving dolls, like puppets and marionettes, would appear real to her. This little bot had so much childlike wonder and imagination. How? He was curious to see the inner workings of her mind whenever the Walter girls came to repair her.
“You’re right, also. He’s our sound engineer.” he added, leaning towards her to relay the information. He then leaned away when his words finished, another chuckle escaping his vents. “So curious!” he exclaimed. “Well, Hatchworth is… interesting. I can’t really explain him. And, uh, Rabbit… is also interesting… I…”
The Spine’s face contorted in frustration as he tried to find the right words to describe his automaton brothers. Having realized that there was no possible way to do so, he started nodding quickly, leaning back in towards Bobbin. “You’ll just have to meet them.”
The cold felt beautiful on her scorching skin, and she blinked languidly, pressing her cheek against it. "S'too late. Don't go. Won't change anything. The transformations'll stop in a minute. Jus' hurts."
He watched as she maneuvered herself closer to the cool floor, her face filled with relief as her cheek pressed against the tiles. He exhaled, his shoulders and frame relaxing. Despite not needing to breathe, he often mimicked how humans responded to danger, holding their breath and tightening their muscles. "I'm not leaving." he replied. "I'll just be over here." He was just glad that she was in less pain than previously.

She smiled as she followed The Spine out of the room. "I've never been in a house with a library before. Generally there are just a whole bunch of scattered bookshelves. Books are never kept in just one place." She giggled. "Even if my house had a library, books would still end up all over the place; I'd never take the time to put them back."
They reached the library door after a few moments, only having gone down a couple of hallways adjacent from the kitchen. "Uh..." he responded nervously, brows pursed together in embarrassment. He placed his hand on the doorknob, slowly turning it to the right. "Well, they are most definitely in one place... but uh..."
Scratching his head with his free hand, he proceeded to open the door with the other, revealing a vast room, completely covered with books and their shelves. Some books were stacked against the wall, while other lay scattered about, or piled high in giant towers. Others were covered in dust among a strange array of bookshelves, some far older than others; antiques.
The Spine chuckled nervously. "Ladies first..."
