work-in-progress versus final art of our gothic vampire heroine 🦇🩸
The digital artbook for Burn the Midnight Oil will feature a plethora of finished and unfinished art from our visual novel, including character designs, scrapped designs, backgrounds, and much more ✨
Available on Kickstarter for one more week
I find it interesting that Circe’s files are accompanied by a poster for the Elysium Club, a club primarily catering to Vampires. Whereas Dante’s, are accompanied by the Golden Cat, which severs humans and the supernaturals alike.
! Burn The Midnight Oil Spoilers !
Circe is often times seen grounded by her past, whether it be “Him” or Her creator, her ex, or simply her being a “bad” person.
This is also further emphasized in the Golden Cat, where Edgar seems almost disturbed and/or unaccepting of Circe’s Vampiric nature. Circe doesn’t wish to discuss the topic either.
This, compared to Dante, who has faced difficulty because of his past, is seen rather inattentive of it.
And, Raoul is never seen uncomfortable or intimidated by Dante being a supernatural, unlike Edgar, and accepts him for who he is(or, at least, who he thinks Dante is).
Or maybe, this just simply reflects how open Circe is about her identity, despite how much she dreads her past, but Dante has to resort to lying about his identity, blending into the masses.
References in Dante’s selection page:
•A letter addressed to Dante, by Francesca, and a photo of young Dante
•A sticky note addressed to Dante, presumably by Raoul
•A cutout featuring The Golden Cat
•Another sticky note, on top of which lies Dante’s SCD badge
•A poster, promoting drug-awareness, by Drugs & Health Administration
•Zeno’s Legal document(s)
References in Circe’s selection page:
• Beaumont museum explosion(Circe’s Last case)
•A note with the Throne Investigation(Circe’s and Edgar’s Private Organisation) and Nocturne
•The Elysium Club(Club catering to Vampires, a rare occurrence)
•A photo of Abraxas with doodles, presumably made by Circe herself
Abraxas, please, I wasn’t breastfed as a child.
