“He’s good for a lot of things.” She defended, a coldness entering her voice as she looked Chase over, she knew there was no doubt some tension between him and the jocks since his departure. “He’s very patient with me especially considering I’m abstinent.” She added, another lie but no one needed to know that. “He has never once pressured me into anything, so not all jocks are the same.” She added, still pouting slightly. She couldn’t help but laugh at his words, shaking her head at his idealism, did he really think a week away would suddenly make everyone friends? If anything it would merely add more tension for having them all stuck together in such close quarters for such a long period of time. “or everything will return to the way it was.” She finished, shrugging her shoulders before glancing back at her firewood and sighing, when would this stupid activity be over? “You don’t need to believe in anything, I don’t believe in pushing people. I’m merely pointing out that just because I’m a bee doesn’t mean we’re all the same.” She defended, she was probably more like the bees then she was ever willing to admit aloud to anyone. “I thought you were being open minded yet you’re acting like I’m every other bee you’ve ever encountered. You’re kind of contradicting yourself a little.”
“Wow, you can file that under things I didn’t need to know,” Chase was a little shocked that Eleanor had made such a personal announcement seemingly out of the blue, laughing a little in his awkwardness as he ran a hand through his hair, quietly wondering if he’d made a mistake by deciding to engage with the Queen Bee. “Maybe,” he agreed and she was probably right but he wouldn’t lose hope for Northlake’s student body until he saw for himself that the camp had had absolutely no impact whatsoever. “Being open-minded and being naive are two very different concepts. I’m willing to give anybody a second chance, in theory, but the ‘fool me once’ rule still applies,” he explained, with a shrug of his shoulders, even if Eleanor did find him contradictory, there were worse fates. “What makes you so different from those girls, huh?”
