Gay little story part 1, I guess?
The air in the train was thick with static and anticipation, the steady hum of the tracks beneath us counting down the miles to our destination. Flynn and I had been together for a little over three years, a steady, comfortable anchor in each other's lives. But tonight, the rhythm felt completely different. For a while now, Flynn had been using tiny portions of my testosterone gel, and the shift had been undeniable, it had sent their libido through the roof.
Sitting across from each other, the conversation quickly became about how incredibly horny we both were. Then, a mutual thought slipped out: we’d both been fantasizing about kissing other people. I caught my reflection in the dark train window, pushing my dark, curly mullet out of my eyes, genuinely surprised. We’d had plenty of conversations about our monogamous relationship before, and we’d always come to the solid conclusion that neither of us felt any desire for anyone else. But tonight, the energy was different. Curiosity won. Right there on the train, we made a deal: we were okay with kissing other people tonight, just because it was fun. No pressure, just freedom.
When we finally arrived at the party, the venue was already pulsing with music and sweat. My ex, Leo, was also there. Leo and I had remained friends after dating, maintaining a playful, effortlessly flirty connection. Within no time at all on the dance floor, the familiar friction pulled us close, the space between our lips shrinking until we were right on the verge of a kiss.
Flynn caught us, leaning in with a smirk. "You can kiss Mika, it's okay," they said, their hazel eyes bright.
Leo blinked, surprised. "Really?"
When I nodded, Leo went for it. That kiss broke the dam. From that moment on, the night became a blur of chaotic fun; Flynn and I were drifting through the crowd, kissing Leo, and catching the lips of random people underneath the flashing lights.
Then came the stairwell.
Stepping away from the heat of the main floor for a breath of air, Flynn and I ran into a guy and his friend, Jade. I don't even remember how the conversation started, but we talked briefly. What I *did* notice (and what instantly peaked my interest) was his hair. It was a bright, vivid green that practically glowed in the dim stairwell light. We parted ways after a few minutes, but his cute face stuck in my mind.
Later on, the music was deep and heavy, the bass rattling in my chest. Looking across the packed dance floor, I spotted the green hair again. Orion and Jade were making out in the middle of the crowd. Drawn by a sudden burst of confidence, possibly created by the vodka I'd been drinking, I decided to just approach them.
I had kissed multiple people already that night, but the second my lips met Orion’s, the whole room dissolved. The kissing felt... different. It wasn’t just fun or casual; it was incredibly pleasant, thick with a sudden, grounding chemistry. Even in the middle of a chaotic queer party, I felt intensely, deeply 'seen' by him somehow.
As we pulled closer, my fingers slid up his mesh shirt, touching his soft skin. Beneath the fabric, my fingertips traced the distinct, familiar lines of top surgery scars.
Orion pulled back slightly, his blue eyes locking onto mine. When we started talking about it, a huge grin broke across his face. It turned out we had both had the exact same surgeon. We burst out laughing right there on the dance floor, the shared coincidence instantly melted away any remaining distance between us.
We kept making out, lost in each other. If I had to describe the feeling of his mouth, the way his arms held me, and the absolute lock he had on my attention, the only thing that fits is the song *Latch* by Sam Smith.
Wanting to share the electricity, I pulled away just long enough to find Flynn, tugging them into the space Orion and I had cleared. The three of us came together right there on the dance floor, a tangle of hands, dark mullets, and bright green hair, kissing in the center of the bright party lights. We wanted a night of uninhibited, chaotic fun, and standing there tasting both of them at once, we definitely found it.
