☣ – “Sorta,” he replies, glancing at the ground and kicking at a rock. Apparently this girl’s never actually seen an MGMK show, or she’d know. “Just the drummer myself. It’s Gear who does the performing.” He never considered himself much of a performer, really, and most people didn’t even recognize him unless Mad Gear was nearby. “Nice to meet you.”
“Drummer is respectable. Can’t have music without the musicians in the background, or it’s just boring.” She remarked. He seemed unnerved. Was she over stepping a boundary? Or was it just the perpetual state all of the vigilantes seemed to be in? All of the ones besides Crash, of course.
“--I’m sorry for scaring you, anyways. Getting used to it all. It’s a lot different than where I came from.”
crashcoursing:
♡ ✖ ☢ ✖ ♡→ ░ ▐ The other girl at least has the courtesy to be polite and not want to step on any toes, and that means Crash likes her already. “Honey, please. We were all sheltered in the city at one point in our lives. Even the great Party Poison was a city rat at one point, I’d betcha. We all start somewhere, and we all learn, and if you find someone who’s willin’ to help ya out, you should take advantage of that.” To make her point, Crash rests one hand on her bad knee. “Look. You’re already doing better than I was my first couple days. I fell down and busted my knee up and it hasn’t been the same since–you’re still walkin’, right? You’ll do fine. Look, if you want, I’ll even teach you to shoot. The best shot in my family.” She sets the rag down on the cot next to her. “Looks about as good as it can for now. Stay the night here and I’ll check ‘em again in the morning, alright?”
She wanted to protest to her remarks on being sheltered. Sure, the city always had a way of dazzling people into blissful ignorance, but not in the way she had been forcefully kept from the fresh air. What she had been through was an all new level of being sheltered.
But that could be saved for later. After all, from what she noticed on those out here being paranoid of being discovered, it was not a good way to make friends by admitting the BLI had decided to use her as their own personal lab rat.
“I guess I am doing alright for myself. Not many city people can come out here in the desert and make it this far.” She said, sitting back in the folding chair, surveying Crash once more.
Teaching her to shoot? Could she even do that? Was Chace’s arm even healed enough, or had enough good muscle to even preform such a task? She knew she had to learn how to shoot. It was a vital skill out in the dunes. Everyone had to be useful, that much she understood about the vigilante lifestyle.
“Shooting, huh? Like pointing them at cans, the stuff people did in those old movies? I think I could do that.”
The blonde admitted, flexing her fingers on her left hand. It felt good to have the wound cleaned out, fresh bandages and all. A night’s sleep on something other than her jacket and backpack started to sound like heaven.
“I’ll repay you for this someday. I don’t have much, but I will make sure it happens.”

❝ did i MISUNDERSTAND? or are you the one with the problem? ❞
“--No!!”
spiitcasually:
☣ – And the boy shrugs. Honestly, his own safety had never even really been a concern of his. So long as Mad Gear was safe. “Got other priorities,” he states curtly, but then meets her gaze and smiles back at her, offering a hand in introduction. “Missile Kid. Go by MK mostly.”
That name caught her attention. She had heard it. Mainly, whispered among some of the places she had been bouncing around until she found her own little niche of her own among the Killjoys. “Missile Kid? You mean, your the guy who runs around and preforms, right?”
“--Did I say my name? It’s Lucky Thirteen. I mainly go by Thirteen.”
crashcoursing:
♡ ✖ ☢ ✖ ♡→ ░ ▐ “There’s plenty of us out here,” Crash states, continuing to disinfect the wounds. No telling what sort of nasty stuff was in them, considering she was fresh from the city. She takes a moment to pause over the numbers and see if she can scrub them out, but to no avail–permanent. She doesn’t comment on them, though; she’s heard enough stories and rumors to do otherwise. “The trick is finding everyone. The desert’s a big place, and most Killjoys don’t like to be found and caught off guard. Y’get good at hiding after awhile. And not to mention, every sort of splits up into factions, crews, and they tend to stick together in small groups. No massive clusters, but friendly little groups. Families. It’s cozy. You’re welcome to rest here and I can maybe introduce you to my family, if you want. Or you can keep running and get out further from the city.” Her family could use some fresh faces anyways.
The moment the girl tried to scrub away the numbers, Chace’s eyes locked onto the spot. She prayed silently in her head, the first time she had done the notion since she had been locked up in the facility.
But the comment on the way the killjoys were spread all over the dunes of the desert, now that caught her attention. It was enough to distract her from the problem at hand.
The literal problem on her hand.
“If they’re everywhere, then clearly, I’m looking in the wrong places. But, I’m glad that the first human being out here I met was you.” She admitted, shifting in her chair, eyes flickering nervously between her arm and Crash.
“--And I would stay, so long as I’m not intruding, you know. I don’t want to become a leech who doesn’t learn how to fend for herself in the desert because she’s been sheltered all her life in Battery City--”
ofskyeiism:
“Do you wanna run or what?”
“Running, yes, that would be a good idea.”
abartonkid:
“don’t believe me — just watch.”
“--Are you referencing Uptown Funk?”
spiitcasually:
☢ – Missile Kid eyes the girl over before holstering his gun. “Sorry. Jumpy today. Might do you good not to sneak up on someone. Word to the wise.”
“Considering I haven’t really seen anyone, and I would’ve thought you all were more aware of your surroundings, I would’ve been more comfortable.” She remarked, flashing him an innocent smile.
