Still recovering From having awaken From the dud in the gun The spinning top that hasn't spun From an innocence taken From the hopes i have torn From having been born
when the zombie apocalypse came, everyone raided gun stores. Except you. You raided a medieval armory and now, armed with full plate armor and a long sword, you will take back your home
I no longer fear
My death, in fact I know I'll
Greet it like a friend
No flowers bloom in this field
Just the comfort of the end
What gets lost in the translation between feelings and language? I wonder how much of myself I can’t translate into words. I wonder how much of myself I don’t even know.
The path isn’t a straight line; it’s a spiral. You continually come back to things you thought you understood and see deeper truths.
Barry H. Gillespie
"I don't wanna be a warrior!" You shout, looking at the magic sword your Mom has shoved into your hands. "But you like books, don't you? Look around us, do you see many books in the village? No. You know who has them? Evil sorcerors and wizards who fell in battle, or the trolls who slayed them."
“Ask yourself this question: “Will this matter a year from now?””
— Richard Carlson
“When you are your own best friend, you don’t endlessly seek out relationships, friendships, and validation from the wrong sources because you realize that the only approval and validation you need is your own.”
— Mandy Hale
Sometimes in life we have to walk. If, at times, we are fortunate enough to find friends that give us rides, take them. Even our own vehicles break down at times. Our bodies, our vessels, are like all the other motor vehicles on this road called life. Everyone's life matters. Everyone's life counts. When you see someone struggling, even when you see someone who inspired you, keep going. Help. Life is a highway and it's also a circle. Remember that. Laugh, love, cry, just keep going. We matter.
She woke with her feet and back aching. The trials and tribulations she had been facing felt like the culmination of all her past woes mixed into one large mixing bowl. Tragedy, comedy, drama, suspense, romance, mystery science, education, nature, even more than she could label, arose unannounced and threatened to swallow her.
Though life had always nawed and chewed at her she would reach down and find her strength. Some hours she was barely able to muster the courage however she always found the willpower to put her hands out and tame those fangs, there by pulling herself out of those vicious jaws. Every time she thought about giving up or giving in she would look inside herself, her mind, her spirit. She would listen, knowing what fate would be if she surrendered. This always made her fight more no matter how deep the mouth or sharp those teeth she knew something they didn't. Her own mind, her own self, her own purpose. Knowing who she was and what she was and was meant to do, it saved her every time. She knew where not to look back. She knew how to see onward, past the tests or fears people or her own mind imagined. Through all the snares and traps some obvious others placed well hidden among the flowers on her path. She had always seen things differently than others and that can be the most difficult thing to battle. She was alone in her authenticity. That, so often, was dangerously terrifying. It had left her so very alone the majority of her existence. The few allies she had been fortunate to meet never left her mind or her soul. This is what she desperately held on to and urgently needed to be passed down to others. Nothing was ever easy, especially when a microscope is placed upon your head and others do not understand the specimen. For that only invoked, worry, jealousy, rage and many other feelings from the swarms that did not understand. Yet, she had to forgive them because she knew that they could never see the way she did. To them her laughter and lack of tears were Insanity. More often confused with acute madness. However it did not harden her heart against them, nor did it change her out look of the beauty and endless possibilities that were everywhere. They wore glasses but we're still blinded to the power within her. They only saw their way, and sadly most of that way was riddled with the ugly Insanity they accused her of.
So probing and poking and inspecting began. Little did they know this time was different for she had grown so much since they had the opportunity to know her now. Why? Because her mother had gifted her with the generational gift of sight. Unknowing she had sharpened this tool as a natural defense mechanism. It was her who the greater Powers had chosen to pass on life, light, and love itself to the world. She was now a soldier fighting for that life and she would never stop, never surrender. Even when abandoned, broken, and scarred she forged through barriers. She had no choice but success. Life depended on it and life was all that mattered. Life is now her life's purpose.
And there is ever just one thing between us I want it to be love, not the memories, not the regrets, not the even the words we said, but love, beating, existing, living, defiant, even if I never see you again, even if we never speak. Let this love be what always remains between you and me.

It is one of life’s bitterest truths that bedtime so often arrives just when things are really getting interesting. Lemony Snicket, The Grim Grotto
If it drains you, it's not for you. Always remember that.
