Stucky Fans I need your help.

So I have a friend (typical comic book dude bro), who says one of the downsides of comic booka being made into movies and finding success is that there were no shippers when it was just comics. That "Stucky" wasn't a thing. Now I'd like to prove this one way or another, but I'm not sure where to go looking for this info. Can you guys point me in the right direction?
