It’s not a complete lie- the town Larry lives in always seems to be changing, mostly because of his Dad’s moods and destruction of the area. That’s why most of the homes in the area are solid bricks or concrete, to not burn up immediately in the case of an accident.

“Nah, M’old man kicked me out for awhile, and then I saw you~” he hummed, grinning still.

“Are they as reliable as you?”

Her words were true but especially incriminating. Maybe too quick on the draw, but she didn’t want to follow around some kid around a city when she couldn’t trust him as well as she could throw him. She needed to at least make sure he knew trying to double cross her would be a mistake.

“Yeah? Why’d he do that, by the way?”

“I mean, I’m probably the better bet. Most maps of this area are incorrect, since no one really comes here.”

He didn’t falter at the obvious distrust, he was used to it. People always seemed to see around his lies recently, maybe the innocent act didn’t work as well once you got older, but that was fine, he had plenty more tricks he could use if he wanted to keep up this dumb act.

“Cause he doesn’t like me playing soccer in the house, and m’grandpa took m’video game system, so I was ‘being annoying’.”
