Mokou's cutting class, SoF open (intro)
It’s a bit amusing to see the bird so curious about the cigarette, something she considered common enough, especially in the outside world. The bird isn’t probably of this world, though; Mokou thinks it probably wouldn’t be far off if she’s actually from Gensokyo.
“It’s an… acquired smell too, I suppose.” An… acquired taste of smell? She could’ve said that, but Mokou gets the feeling that she’ll only confuse the bird more.
Mokou smiles a small smile at the request, and takes out a cigarette box , handing the bird one of the unhealthy things.
“You’re going to need a fire to light it up.”
"I see..?" Either way, she couldn't see how the small paper stick was so addictive! Or why someone would even want to use it--then again, that could be hypocritical of her, since she was asking to try one out. It was a harmless little thing, she thought. It wouldn't make a difference, or it wouldn't even hurt if she just tried a little bit.
Utsuho took the cigarette from the girl, and looked it over. Yes, certainly harmless. It was paper...and something else that was in it that she couldn't quite identify. Oh.
"Fire, huh? I don't have that..." Maybe she should have thought this one through, but maybe since the other had one, they had fire! "Do you have fire?"
Cherry cake || (open)
Shion took another bite of his piece of cake, happily enjoying the taste. He leaned back on the bench for a moment, allowing his eyes to shut. Soon he jumped, sensing someone else around. It took him almost not time to find the girl standing in front of him. A student maybe? She looked young. The expression on her face was ravenous, reaching towards the box of cake. The teacher blinked in surprised, reminded slightly of Inukashi. “It is very good.” He replied to her muttering with a nod. Maybe she hadn’t been talking to him but he answered either way.
He set the box of cake next to him and waved a hand towards the girl. “Would you like some?” Shion asked, motioning his head toward the bench. There was enough room for the two of them to sit, and Shion was no way going to eat more than one piece by himself. Why let it go to waste?
“It’s cherry if you’re okay with that,” His voice was slightly absent as if he was talking to no one in particular, but he watched the student hesitantly. The white haired man hadn’t met many of the students other than those who took his class and this girl he hadn’t seen before.
There was a slight furrowing of her brows as she stared down at both him, and the food he had. Was he going to give it to her, or flaunt about how good it was? The hell raven was getting noticeably annoyed with this. Her gaze followed as he set the box besides him; was he purposely keeping it away from her? Human's were so pesky sometimes--but like she should talk, she was practically getting worked up over this. If only she had stole it, but she was trying to be on her best behaviour here.
"--Huh?" She blinked in a surprised manner, shocked that he was offering her some of the cake. The girl no longer looked annoyed at this, thankfully. As he motioned for her to sit, she shuffled over and plopped down on the bench. "Of course I want some, I wouldn't be standing there if I didn't." She rolled her eyes, almost as if she believed he was the stupid one.
"I'm fine with it, food is food!" Utsuho exclaimed. That and she never had cake that often, so it would be nice to try something new! Without thinking much about proper manners (mostly because she hardly needed those!) she reached into the box and took out a cake with a hand. Without a second thought she took a bite from the cake, and goodness was it sweet! It had to be one of the sweetest tasting things she has ever tasted in a long while! Her eyes lit up in delight, and she looked over at the male flashing him a toothy grin. "Wow, this is really good!" Except her talking was more muffled, since she was speaking with her mouthful.
a new man,|| open
The madness. The raging, beating, madness, it’s wrath was furious within the doctor. It was all so much worse than usual, thanks to the vector arrow that had been injected within his body. It kept the insanity tied to him, allowing him no escape, even going so far as to strengthen it.
Stein was aware that something was wrong, yes. He was convinced that he was broken, as though he were some kind of technology. A broken radio.
But he had always thought so.
The tall doctor’s hand had been paused over the screw that was stuck through his head. He’d been turning it mere seconds before, trying to help himself think, but it did nothing. His hands shook too badly for him to concentrate, anyway.
With a bang, he slammed his hand down onto the desk, as though he were angry, but rather than having an expression of fury, his arched back quivered with silent laughter, his other hand going to his face, fingers running through his pale, grey hair, tousling it more as the laugh became more and more audible. From the palm of his that lay on the desk dripped blood. He’d been carving at his own skin again, stitching more, but he hadn’t even gotten close to finishing this time. The cuts was deep, close to showing the bones in his hand, but he didn’t feel it — that is, if he did feel it, he enjoyed the pain.
What a joke… and Death thought Stein was on his side! How boring. How dull. It was all too slow for him, too tiring. Medusa truly provided excitement to his life, even in the tiresome academy that everyone kept claiming was so unique, so special.
And as his bout of laughter calmed and quieted, the doctor slumped back over in his chair, the computer at his desk flickering, its screen showing eyes every now and then as he put his face in his hands, going silent once more, blood streaking from one hand to his cheek and forehead.
Ever since she had arrived, she had began opening whatever door she could in the school building, most of the time she wasn't noticed, other times she was. A lot of the times, there wasn't anything interesting to see, or do. However, as she walked passed one particular door, she heard a loud bang, one that sounded as if someone was banging their hand against something--a desk maybe?
Taking a few steps back, she went to push open the door only to hear laughter; laughter that could only be classified as insane. Whatever was happening behind that door had caught the brunette's attention...Perhaps a little bit too much. Anyone would be drawn away from it if they had heard that, since it most likely did mean something not right was going on beyond the door.
No, she was far from the type that got frightened easily at all, but just to be on the safe side she waited for the laughter to die down before pushing the door open. The hinges made a slight creaking sound as she pushed it open enough to slide inside.
Upon entering, she froze at the sight that was in the room. There was a man slumped over, with what appeared to be blood on the desk...Along with a strange flickering box she couldn't quite identify. Whatever had happened it was most certainly an eerie thing to see.
Keeping her eyes on the deranged looking person, she crept forward. Maybe it would've been best if she had just left.
Mokou's cutting class, SoF open (intro)
“I don’t think I can give a proper opinion; it’s my first day here, after all.” First day, skip classes.
Well, when she thinks about it, it actually is Mokou’s first time in a school as a student. She doesn’t find it as weird as the bird youkai seems to, though. But she probably should at least attend some classes before she actually formulates an opinion.
It probably wouldn’t be too different from how she received her education back when she was still a young girl, except this time she would have classmates.
Although, while it’s true that this was her first experience of being a student in a school, it isn’t her first time seeing a school. She’s helped Keine with her classes before.
Her thoughts are interrupted when the bird youkai points at the thing held between her lips.
“This? It’s just a cigarette.” Mokou smirks when the raven complained about the smell. “It’s… an acquired taste.” Unhealthy, too.
"Is it?"
She scratched the back of her head, confused on why someone would skip on the first day! That wasn't really how schools worked, did they? Like it mattered, Utsuho probably would have done the same thing. There wasn't any room for her to talk too, she was skipping class now, after all.
"..A cigarette?? I haven't heard anything about those before." She tapped her chin in a thoughtful way. What was the little paper tube's purpose that made it seem a bit..edible? No, not edible, she noticed that it wasn't being eaten..--Oh, the taste, right.
"Then...It tastes nothing like it smells, right?" She waved her hand in front of her nose. "I couldn't imagine wanting to put something that smells like that in my mouth." As rude as she was probably sounding, she couldn't help but wonder what it did taste like...No one was here to scold her if she did end up trying, plus she doubted odd smelling paper could hardly do a thing to her.
"....Can I try it? Not the one that was in your mouth though, but another! If you have any more."
Mokou's cutting class, SoF open (intro)
It’s a bird. A raven, she thinks.
An ordinary human wouldn’t be able to tell that, but Mokou has lived too long. She knows her youkai. The raven seems exceptionally powerful too, but Mokou could tell that even without her life experience.
But her power levels aside, she also seemed to be a rather chirpy bird. Respectful enough, but still chirpy. It took a few awkward moments of silence between them, looking at each other, before the bird youkai finally asked her question.
Mokou placed the cigarette back on her lips and looked away.
“Yeah,” she replied.
It wasn't often she saw humans--that were alive at least. The most she had seen them before here was when she was beaten by those two girls that had gotten their way to her. Okuu was a tiny bit fascinated with humans though, but she hardly showed it. This human girl was really odd, she had really white hair, she thought that was only common with older ones! ...That wasn't the case though, they clearly weren't very old looking.
"School is really weird isn't it? I don't understand a lot of it," said the girl as she gave a slight shrug to her shoulders. Utsuho fell silent for a moment, and leaned over to get another look at Mokou--well the cigarette at least. The smell from it was so hard to get used to! Jabbing a finger in its direction, tilted her head to the side.
"What's that thing in your mouth? It smells really bad."
Cherry cake || (open)
The man walked back through the front gates of the school with a small yawn. He’d spent most of the morning wandering around the city the school was located in. Japan huh? What an odd place. Not as repressed as No. 6 but not as crazy as the West Block. But it would take some getting used to.
He sighed. It was something he’d gotten in the habit of lately. Shion wasn’t sure what to make of it. He wasn’t tired per say, or sad. So why all the sighing? He shook off the thought and instead walked through the grounds, searching for the bench he’d taken accustom to hiding out on. He was carrying a light pink box as well. When the young teacher sat down on the bench, he set the box neatly in his lap, pulling on the string that held it shut. Once unwrapped he opened it to reveal a few slices of cherry cake.
As smile pulled at the corners of his mouth. His mother baked cherry cake every year on his birthday, even as he got older. It was a special treat. But finding it in a bakery in Japan had been a bit of a shock. He bought a few pieces even, unsure of how many he would actually eat. And there were sure to be left overs, which he could bring to his roommate.
The smell of the cakes was overpowering and Shion’s restraint was wavering. He picked out a piece, breaking off a small bite and placing it in his mouth. It wasn’t as good as Karan’s but,
“It’s good,”
It was a bright day out, perfect weather for wandering about and trying to spend her free time wisely. Maybe she'd go out for a flight later on, if the weather carried on like this. It was nice, having somewhere as open as this to fly about, the wind was really nice to feel. With all the upsides to this place, there were a lot of downsides as well. One was mostly having no one to talk to, and she really didn't understand the reasoning behind that.
Fixing the bandages around her arm that usually had her cannon on it, she payed no mind to where she was going..And once she had looked up again after she had finished tending the bandages, she spotted the male with the cake. A sudden look of interest could be seen in her dark-red optics, not for the male, but for the food he had with him.
Hell, she couldn't remember the last time she had something to eat! It had to be at least a little over a day, and she was stupid enough to go and bother someone--a stranger even for food they had bought for themselves. Now she had gotten so close that she was standing in front of him, staring into the box with a look akin to a starving dog's.
She reached a hand forward, as she was nearly tempted to take a slice of cake and run off...But something stopped her from doing so.
"That cake smells really good....." She muttered under her breath..Oh, what'd be so wrong taking cake from a stranger? It was just food!
Mokou's cutting class, SoF open (intro)
Over the school’s rooftop, Mokou walked over to the railings, took in a deep breath slowly, exhaled.
First day in school, and she’s cutting classes. She isn’t being a rebel. She just doesn’t feel like attending. Upon checking her schedule, Geometry is her first class, and she really doesn’t feel like fiddling with numbers right now.
Mokou lit up a cigarette.
She closes her eyes, feeling relaxed with the fairly strong wind blowing at her.
The weather is nice.
Her eyes opens when she hears the door to the rooftop open, but chooses to ignore the newcomer.
The newcomer might be someone the teacher sent to look for her, though.
Mokou disregards her first option, and turns her head around to face them, although she said nothing.
Just like Mokou, Utsuho was also skipping class, mostly because she couldn't be bothered trying to learn...Or maybe it was also the fact that nearly every class she did have was too difficult to comprehend. It didn't help that she had slight trouble going along with the unfamiliar schedule as well. So where did she end up going? The roof top! Surely a teacher wouldn't look there--not like she cared if she did get caught, there'd have to be a way out of it.
There was something she didn't expect to see once she opened the door; however, there was a girl--a human one at that. There was a smell coming from the object they were holding, it smelled of smoke, but there was another scent to it that made the hell raven scrunch up her nose slightly. She stopped once she saw that the other girl was staring at her in silence.
Okuu stepped forward and stopped within a yard's distance from the other, before finally saying something. It probably wasn't much of a conversation starter, but it had to work.
"Are you skipping class too??"
Utsuho, Arthur and direct answers should never belong in the same sentence unless the phrase: ‘will never give you’ is wedged in between. He realises that reply caught her off guard. It isn’t. He’s checked and analyzed it.
“They do,” he quipped. He would be creeped (or intrigued) if he found out he was being watched. But he immensely preferred not to do the watching. “Do you think, I’m the type to write about other people?”
He’s curious about how other people percieve him in so little a span of a meeting.
“How did you describe it - creepy?”
That was very true, but a lot of things flew over her head, even when it was obvious.
"Hmm...Uh, you might be?" She gave a shrug of her shoulders and sat down next to him, folding her wings up slightly so they wouldn't get in the way. "I mean, you're sitting there, watching people while holding a notepad and pen, so it's possible that you are." She glanced over at him, trying to act as if she wasn't going to try to look at what could possibly be on that notebook.
"Of course it's creepy!" She continued on. "Aren't you humans into that though?" As if any other being was different, but still. "Or something...like that." She absentmindedly tapped the arm cannon on the ground as she tried to think this through. "Hmm.."
Sorry Arthur for the dumb bird girl bothering you.
☆How Beary Exciting!☆ || Open
[ Teddie rushed towards the entrance gate, hoping to get a glimpse of where he would be staying from now on. He’s never been to a school before… well, in the sense of going to lessons, he has physically been to a school, he’s just never enrolled in one.
As he turned the corner to go through the main gate, he was greeted by the sight of Tancho Academy and a smile appeared on the bear’s face as he stopped and marvelled in it’s splendour. Though, of course he wasn’t donning that ridiculous appearance of his, he was using his human form at the moment; he left the suit back in the TV World.
But, for a new student, he was lacking surprisingly baggage wise. No suit case, no bags, nothing! Just the clothes on his back. As the bear took a single step forward, beginning his time at the school… he tripped ]
“OH BEAR!!”
—THUD—
[ He landed with a right crash on the ground, sending dust and dirt scattering and all over his expensive clothes that Yosuke had so kindly bought him. What a great way to start you first day of school… ever ]
Sitting in a tree closest to the entrance of the school building there was a girl watching people as they walked past, examining what they looked like. Utsuho was amused by all of these people, the people in the outside world sure did dress funnily! She couldn't quite understand the point of getting everyone to wear nearly the same thing! Becoming bored of watching people speaking to each other, she scanned the small crowd of people--Oh! There! The blonde boy that seemed to be more cheerful than anyone else she had set sight upon. Maybe he'd be someone she could talk to. Maybe.
Just as she was thinking about getting up and going over to him, she heard him shout, and watched as he took quite the spill. This made Utsuho more amused than it should have. Snickering to herself, she jumped out of the tree effortlessly then proceeded to walk over to him.
"Hey...Are you okay?" She asked as she knelt down and prodded him with a finger lightly in the side.
He’s a little bit surprised at how quickly that was caught on. The pen and notebook could have been tools to give the impression of someone that’s an artist or too preoccupied. It worries him to a degree - perhaps he’s getting sloppy. But more importantly, it pings him that the person he’s speaking to could provide some degree of interest.
He never answers questions directly. He can be forward, commanding even - in regards to everything but himself. Instead, he opts to avoid.
“Is that against the rules?”
Arthur has them memorised by now and has broken more than he’d care to admit.
She wasn't the observant type of person at all, but the fact that someone was sitting out with a notepad and pen where people would occasionally pass did strike her a bit as odd. Getting up into his business was something that the girl probably wouldn't think twice about--but she never thought twice about a lot of things. Walking a bit closer, she stood directly in front of the man, the more curious side of her was beginning to show.
"--What?" His response to her question confused her for a moment, for she had really expected a direct answer. Of course this managed to make her frown just a tad.
"I'm not entirely sure if it is or not, actually," she continued after pondering it for a second. Really, she had skipped over reading whatever rules the school had laid out for people.
"So you are watching them...Are you writing about them as well? I thought people found that sort of thing creepy." Utsuho bluntly said.
SoF ➡ OPEN TO ALL / INTRO
Arthur is prowling, perhaps for lack of a better term, the hallways of Tancho. He’s a sharply dressed man - a two piece charcoal gray suit, with thin gray pin-striping and a red silk tie in the subtle pattern of spades (complete with tie clip and cufflinks). There’s a sort of military air to him.
He gives no indication to who he is or why he’s here. The charms of a suit is that it’s basically an all access pass. You dress sharply enough - look important enough, people will avoid asking questions. He slipped into the campus without so much identification. He’s been unofficially assigned here as a delegation of Project Somnacin. The school was a blip on his radar for potential people that could get involved with dreamsharing and if anyone was coming into the field Arthur had to know who or what was involved at all times.
He had to look for an apt place to people watch, so he settles on finding an empty stairwell and taking a seat. Pulling out a black moleskine notebook and a fountain pen.
[ Anyone coming through the stairs or noticing Arthur watching like a creeper can come BOTHER HIM. asdlasdl ]
Free time, it was one thing that Utsuho didn't know how to spend--alone at least. Sleeping was out of the question, and the only option left was to wander the hallways of the school. Occasionally, she'd peek through the windows on the doors to classrooms just to see what was inside. Some had what seemed to be normal things, and other's had things the hell raven had never set eyes upon before. Letting out a yawn, she continued on. There had to be something that would be amusing upstairs!
As soon as she opened the door to what seemed like a vacant stairwell, she immediately caught sight of a well-dressed person. Utsuho was as silent as ever as she inspected the stranger. Why was here of all places, and what could he be writing? Judging on how well he dressed, he appeared to be someone of importance--a teacher maybe? It didn't matter either way, he had grasped her both her attention and curiosity.
"Are you watching people, or something?" She finally spoke, asking a question that had an obvious answer to it.
There was a lack of amusement on the hell raven's face as she studied her surroundings; now that she had finally managed to get whatever luggage she did have inside the dorm she was assigned to, she had little to no idea what to do next. There were those classes she had to attend, right? But it was far too late for those, and wasn't it a day off? Oh she wouldn't know, she had never been to a school in her life. The amount of people as well, it made Utsuho feel slightly less comfortable to be here. She wasn't used to having to be around crowds upon crowds, especially ones that were made up mostly of humans.
The outside world was confusing, there were things she had never laid her eyes on before. Sure, she left the underground world once, but she hardly got a chance to really look about; all that had been on her mind was burning and taking over things. Here, she had to be a little bit more cautious of what she was doing. Which lead her to wonder, why was she here in the first place? It was odd enough that she was allowed to go off here...All over some strange feeling she had gotten, one that had been strong enough to will her to leave.
With a sigh, she sat down under a tree and lounged there. Her legs sticking out to where it was easy to make anyone who wasn't paying attention to trip over them.
"It better be worth being here..." She mumbled under her breath as she drummed her fingernails on the cannon that was clasped onto her other arm. She refused to take it off, not at least until she got a bit more used to this place.
